Five good reasons why - Violent games won't make you a killer

03:19
Violent video games have always been a hot issue in the media. After each shooting you read how Doom and Counter-strike turned someone into a psycho. We think the connection between video game and real life violence is bullshit and here are five good reasons why! Music by CMA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hT3wQBi3_Po Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/Epzonix Soundcloud: http://www.soundcloud.com/ezx-dubstep Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/cmachillstep 1. There's no evidence Many academics have published papers on the link between playing violent games and short-term increases in 'aggression', 'hostility', or 'anti-social behavior'. But these studies are not actually providing evidence for a link between playing violent games and violent behavior. The evidence simply doesn't exist. 2 Gaming is a great scapegoat In the 1950s, lots of people blamed comic books for kids' bad behavior. Music, movies and television have also been called the devil in their early days. Since games haven't been around that long it's only natural for politicians and the media to be afraid of this new evil. Fifty years from now it's highly likely people will laugh at today's violent video game controversy. 3. The killers are mentally unstable In almost every single shooting where violent video games were blamed, the individual involved was mentally unstable or ill. But of course it's way more appealing for the media to blame violent video games and pay no attention to the fact that most of these tragedies are linked to mental instability and poor parenting. 4. The vast majority of gamers are non violent people We've never met anyone who was scared of a gamer. Or heard stories of drinkers sneaking out of the bar because a bunch of gamers walked in. Even if violent games made a tiny percentage of all gamers aggressive we would surely see that reflected in the public reception of gamers. Yet we don't. 5. Millions of people play violent games yet violent crime is in steep decline Video games have never been more popular yet violent crime in the US and Europe has been in steep decline since the mid-1990. Some researchers actually see video games and the internet as a possible reason for the decline. According to them games are affordable forms of entertainment that keep people inside and away from real crime and drugs. Now that should give crusading politicians and newspapers some food for thought. Five good reasons why - We love Trevor Phillips

03:49
Trevor, is the most disgusting, filthy, evil, degenerate of a man that we've have ever witnessed. And we love him for that. Here are five good reasons why the CEO of Trevor Phillips Industries is our favorite character in GTA 5. 5. He's funny Trevor is one of the funniest characters in GTA 5. His completely crazy view of the world makes every scene he's in entertaining. And he has a habit of showing up in the strangest places. 4. He's unpredictable Trevor is so unpredictable you never know what he's going to do next. His explosive nature is just a joy to watch. What a loose cannon. 3. His personality fits the gameplay Trevor's rage-fuelled personality fits the gameplay of GTA perfectly. Unlike the gold hearted gangster Nico, Trevor is exactly the sort of person who would run over people without thinking twice about it. 2. He's terrifying Rockstar managed to make Trevor a character that is actually frightening rather than merely violent. His bipolar nature and bad temper make him one scary guy. We wouldn't want to get on his wrong side. 1. He doesn't give a damn Trevor is batshit crazy and doesn't give a damn about all the things most normal people find important. It's very refreshing to play as a character that does whatever the hell he wants even if it can make you feel uneasy at times. We wouldn't want him as our friend but Trevor Phillips is just awesome. Skate 3 video: HelixSnake http://www.youtube.com/user/HelixSnake Fifa 12 video: Duaineml0 http://www.youtube.com/user/Duaineml0 Red Dead video: EziosBladez http://www.youtube.com/user/EziosBladez Skryim video: silentimage http://www.youtube.com/user/silentimage New Vegas video: Shodan210 http://www.youtube.com/user/Shodan210 It's wonderful when a game works the way it should. But when things go wrong it's ... well actually, sometimes way, way better! These are the top 5 funny glitches in gaming! 5. Fallout New Vegas - Bethesda This glitch in Fallout: New Vegas is funny, but also incredibly creepy. In the midst of some dialogue, Doc Mitchell's head begins to rotate in very odd ways. But that is just the beginning. Somebody better call a priest fast. 4. Skyrim - Bethesda This video starts out bizarre with a character running while hovering over the horse. But look what happens when the rider comes across a hungry bear. Now that's one hell of defence mechanism. Get to the chopper! 3. Red Dead Redemption - Rockstar Games In this video, we see carriages in Red Dead Redemption bouncing around like they are in a 1990s Snoop Dog video. Let's see if we can make a real gangsta out of good ol' John. Yeah look at that player riding dirty. You go John! 2. FIFA 12 - Electronic Arts We're all for celebrating a good goal but the players in FIFA 12 take things a little too far. Seriously guys get a room. The broken leg glitch is also pretty funny. It looks like he's riding an invisible magic carpet. 1. Skate 3 - Electronic Arts Skate 3 is the ultimate game for fans of funny glitches. Just look at this amazing compilation of epic bails and other funny stuff. Skate 3 proves that a game full of glitches can be absolutely hilarious. Five ways to get your girlfriend into gaming

02:33
So you have a girlfriend but you also like to play games. What if we told you could combine the two? Here are five ways to get your girlfriend into gaming. 5. Make a trade In the initial stages of trying to get her to play video games, you might have to compromise. Offer to take her out to dinner or watch one of her favorite romantic comedies in exchange. And recognize that she probably doesn't want to play for eight hours at a time. At least not at first. 4. Start with easy co-op games You can slowly introduce her into the world of gaming with some easy co-op games. Play some of the Lego games together or fire up New Super Mario Bros. It might be boring for you but remember this is only a gateway drug to bigger better games. 3. Pick out games with a good story Start playing games with a good story in front of your girlfriend and she'll be hooked before you know it. The Walking Dead and Heavy Rain are great examples of games with an exciting story line. Before you know it she'll be the one saying 'don't you want to play your game tonight?' 2. Present it as quality time Remind your girlfriend that if you both play video games, you'll be able to spend even more quality time together. However, be aware that it will only count as quality time if she actually does enjoy it, so try not to force an argument about this. 1. Have fun when you play with her If you make it a good time she will enjoy it, even if she's not that into games. Crack jokes, make her laugh and focus primarily on spending time with her, not on winning the game at hand. This is easily the best way to turn your girlfriend into a gamer. Good luck guys! Five good reasons why - EA failed this year

03:14
2013 has been a disastrous year for EA. The publisher had to write more apology letters than Tiger Woods after a Bangkok vacation. Here are five good reasons why EA completely screwed up this year. - Music by: [Nu Disco] - Televisor - The Chase [Monstercat Release] Licensed by Monstercat: http://youtube.com/MonstercatMedia 5. Simcity disaster SimCity has had one of the worst releases in recent memory. Problems with EA's servers meant gamers were unable to play this online only game for days after launch. The publisher apologized and offered a free game to make up for the DRM disaster. 4. Battlefield 4 epic fail EA pushed Battlefield 4 out the door early in order to beat Call of Duty to the market and boy did it backfire. The many glitches, bugs and crashes made the online mode basically unplayable. EA says its working hard on patches to resolve the issues. 3. Command and Cancelled Command and Conquer fans were in for an unpleasant surprise when Electronic Arts suddenly cancelled the free-to-play reboot months before release. We spoke with developer Victory Games at the E3 this year and the game actually looked kind of promising. What a shame. 2. NBA Live 14 embarrassment NBA Live made its return this year after a lengthy period on the bench but it wasn't the triumphant comeback EA had hoped for. Critics described the graphics as "PS2-like" with gameplay that felt just as dated. The difference between Lebron James in NBA Live 14 and NBA 2K14 says it all. Ouch. 1. Worst Company in America EA won the Consumerist poll for being the "Worst Company in America" for the second year in a row in 2013. And judging by all the screw ups on this list they kind of deserve the title. Lets hope they learn from their mistakes and won't win it a third time next year. Top 5 - Frustrations in gaming

03:48
Playing games can be a relaxing pastime but it can also cause blind fury and extreme rage. The things in this top 5 will make you scream in anger as you throw your controller across the room. Take a deep breath and brace yourself for the top 5 frustrations in gaming! 5. Unskippable dialog and cutscenes We absolutely hate unskippable content in games. Whether it's reading ridiculously slow scrolling text or watching long cutscenes, it sucks when developers are force feeding you stuff. Common, let us play your damn game! 4. Overpowered bosses Everybody knows the frustration of getting the crap beat out of you by an overpowered boss. When you are done screaming into a pillow you either pick yourself up and try again or stop playing the game forever. We respect both choices equally. 3. Backtracking It absolutely sucks when you need to backtrack in a game to look for that one crucial item you missed. Revisiting area's you already cleared is as thrilling as watching grass grow. Backtracking just feels like a gigantic waste of time and we absolutely hate it. 2. Game crashes and bugs Very few things are more rage inducing than a sudden game ending crash. It hits you like a kick in the balls as you sit there trying to remember when you last saved. Game ending crashes are a great way to find out how many different curse words you know. 1. Corrupted saves There is nothing more frustrating than losing all your progress because of a corrupted save file. Hopefully this problem will soon be a thing of the past thanks to innovations like cloud storage and better programming. But until then make sure to keep multiple save files for all your favorite games. O and please share YOUR video game frustrations in the comments below! Top 5 - Mysterious characters in gaming

04:09
We all like a little mystery in our games and developers have been more than happy to give us plenty of puzzling characters with unclear motives. Get ready for the Top 5 - Mysterious characters in gaming! Q - Street Fighter 3: Third Strike Q is a mysterious character from Street Fighter 3: Third Strike. Not much is know about him, except that he's wanted by the CIA as he tends to pop up at different disasters around the world. No one knows his real name, if he's human or even a man. Q was also believed to appear in Street Fighter II: Champion Edition and later removed. A mysterious guy, girl or it indeed. Merchant - Resident Evil 4 Resident Evil 4's merchant has no background story or even a reason for being there. His shrouded face, bizarre accent, and stereotypic gypsy bartering style make him instantly unique and curiously likable. This mysterious character is one of the icons of Resident Evil 4 and we'll probably never get to know more about him. Mysterious Stranger - Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas The mysterious stranger in Fallout 3 is a side-kick guardian angel who shows up randomly to blow away your foes. No one knows anything about him although you can meet his son in Fallout: New Vegas. And even grab his magnum 44 if you're a stone cold killer. G-Man - Half-Life series G Man is behind something in the Half-Life series. But nobody knows what that something is. He doesn't show up very often and when he does he only speaks in riddles. Hopefully Valve will finally get around to releasing Half-Life 3 so we can find out more about this mysterious character. Strange Man - Red Dead Redemption In the mission "I Know You", John Marston is approached by a mysterious man who seems to know a lot about his past and the world in general. Some say that he's the Devil or God, others say that he's John's conscience. The fact that no one knows for sure makes him the ultimate mysterious character in gaming. Five good reasons why - We love indie games

03:03
With the PS4 and Xbox One taking a new focus on indie game development, a lot of console gamers will experience something pc gamers have known for a long time. And that is that indie games are awesome! Here are five reasons why we love indie games! They are cheap Indie games are dirt cheap compared to normal games. And they are frequently bundled and sold at incredibly low prices on Steam and pay what your want sites like Humble Bundle. The latter even lets you donate some of your money to charity! They run on almost any computer We love the fact that most indie games run on any computer. You don't need the latest graphics card or processor to play them which means you can even put them on your laptop and take them on the road with you. They bring back childhood memories Something about playing indie games makes us feel like a child again. Whether it's the retro art style, sound design or challenging gameplay you can really tell that a lot of indie games are made by people that grew up in the golden 8-bit era of gaming. They are made by passionate people Indie games are made by passionate people who are not always thinking about money. Sometimes they have a story to tell or make them because they love playing games as much as we do. And with places like Kickstarter it's easier than ever to support the guys and girls who are making a game you want to play. We promise it will give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside. They do things differently Indie games are very different from triple A games. The developers don't have to worry about target groups and pleasing everybody which leads to truly unique experiences. A game like Papers please focuses on the emotional toll of working in a migration office.... Among the sleep provides a unique survival horror experience with you playing a two year old in a scary house .... And we recently fell in love with Shelter. A game about protecting a badger family from the dangers of the wild. All these games are good examples of interesting new ideas you can only find in the indie scene. Do you play indie games? Top 5 - Worst voice acting in gaming

04:26
We've already made a top 5 about the best male and female voice-actors in gaming. So now it's time to look at the worst voice acting in gaming. The voice work in the games in this top 5 is so bad that it's good. No that's not really the case but at least it's funny as hell. Now get ready for the five worst voice-acting jobs in gaming! 5. Resident Evil - Capcom The voice acting in the original Resident Evil is extremely cheesy. The poor translation from Japanese to English combined with some amazing overacting from Barry Burton resulted in some truly hilarious lines. 4. Grand Theft Auto: London 1969 - Take-Two Interactive The lads in Grand Theft Auto London were supposed to sound harder than a coffin nail. But they were on thin fucking ice reading their lines like they didn't give a monkey's. Are you taking the piss? Now, fuck off! 3. Chaos Wars - O3 Entertainment The voice acting in Chaos Wars is comedy gold. The sarcastic way in which the 'voice actors' read their lines makes it seem like their are mocking the script. I mean seriously guys could you at least pretend like you actually give a fuck? 2. Nintendo CD-i games - Philips The CD-i's library is full of games with awful voice acting but nothing hurt more than seeing Philips' terrifying take on Nintendo games. Mario tawwks like he's from New Yawk. While Link couldn't be more of an effeminate jerk if he tried. 1. Animal Soccer World - Phoenix Games Animal Soccer World for the Playstation 2 has the worst voice-acting in gaming. The horrendous voice acting of all the animals is done by ONLY ONE voice actor who's clearly from Holland, isn't that vierd? Listening to this game is an experience we wouldn't wish upon our worst enemy. Spy Party - Chris Hecker Psychological games have ballooned in popularity in recent years. And the upcoming Spy Party is set to kick the bar far over the heads of its contemporaries. Pitting a sole spy against a sniper in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse, Spy Party is all about observation, perception and deception. Whatever you do, don't say 'banana bread'! 4. Transistor - Supergiant Games If you loved their gorgeous action-RPG Bastion, you'll be absolutely smitten with Supergiant Games' upcoming Transistor. Set in a Blade Runner meets Deus Ex cyberpunk setting, Transistor takes everything that shone in Bastion and casts a whole new magic spell over it. The best narrator in video game history is returning too, so whoopee! 3. Octodad: Dadliest Catch - Young Horses, Inc. On first inspection, Octodad: Dadliest Catch brings one question to mind: WHAT?! On further inspection that same question remains, and that's the beauty of it! With each of Octodad's limbs being controlled independently, the game's controls are absolutely ridiculous and make for some excellent cephalopod-based hilarity. This one's gonna have us in stitches, for sure. 2. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth - Nicalis Taking the already top-notch roguelike dungeon crawler The Binding of Isaac, Rebirth will give players the ultimate Isaac experience. Recreating it from the ground up with a brand new engine, 16-bit visuals and oodles of new content. And although all we have to whet our appetites is a live-action trailer, we just know this one's gonna win us over with flying colours and killer tears. 1. The Witness - Number None, Inc. For years now, gamers have been debating on whether we will ever see the Citizen Kane of video games. And as Jon Blow's The Witness draws nearer, that day might be coming sooner than we all think. Set on an uninhabited island full of puzzles and gorgeous aesthetic, The Witness is an experience steeped in the mind, epiphany and realisation. Top 5 - Weak characters

03:32
The world of gaming is full of strong ass kicking heroes but it also has its share of pathetic weaklings. The characters in this top 5 are completely useless. Here are the top 5 weak characters in gaming! 5. Dan Hibiki - Street Fighter series With his weak and slow moves, Dan is widely regarded as a joke character in the Street Fighter series. He is popular amongst pro players as his weakness makes winning matches that much more epic. We just love the way he trolls Ryu and Ken with his pink outfit and tiny fireball. 4. Glass Joe - Punch-Out!! Glass Joe is pretty much the equivalent of a human punching bag in the NES classic Punch-Out. We've been knocking his ass out without even trying since 1987. He really has no redeeming qualities besides going down like a sack of flour. Seriously, five year olds can beat this clown with their eyes closed. 3. Lester - Lester the Unlikely Lester is the only character we can think of who is scared of every small enemy he faces. This coward is constantly freaking out in the Super Nintendo game Lester the Unlikely. And his overall movement and lousy attacks are just painful to watch. What a complete tosser. 2. Negative Man - Mother 3 Negative Man in the Game Boy Advance game Mother 3 is one of the weakest and most depressed video game enemies in history. He is already on his knees when you meet him and cries throughout the whole battle. There's nothing heroic about beating this sad excuse of an enemy. 1. Bob the Goldfish - Earthworm Jim 2 The first boss in Earthworm Jim 2 is an evil goldfish called Bob. Now we don't expect much from a goldfish but the 'fight' Bob puts up is just sad. You simply reach into the bowl and eat him. Now that's one hell of a weak boss. Although we really do appreciate the irony of a worm eating a fish. Retro game of the week - Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix (PSX)

03:29
This week we're playing Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix on the original Playstation. This game from 2001 is known for its shock value in the form of bloody death scenes ...... and the lesbian relationship between two of the game's leads. Fear Effect 2 was a prequel to the first game which showed how the three main characters met. It also introduced Hana's love interest, Rain. Their mission in the game was to stop an epidemic of a highly dangerous disease. The game looked a lot like a cel shaded Resident Evil thanks to its pre rendered background and cinematic camera angles. It made the futuristic cyberpunk world of Hong Kong a very interesting place to explore. You would play as each of the four main characters at different times throughout the game. The gameplay was primarily focused on solving puzzles to progress rather than combating enemies. It made every enemy encounter that much more exciting especially since it was very easy to die in Fear Effect 2. One wrong move and your ass was toast. But that was also part of the fun as the game had some great death scenes. The game had more mature content in the form of the lesbian relationship between Hana and Rain. Even though it was only a very small part of the story, it still caused a lot of controversy at the time. Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix sense of style, interesting characters and beautiful cel shaded graphics make it a truly unique game. Revisit this classic if you're in the mood for a mature cyberpunk adventure. You'll see that it offers so much more than just the blood and cleavage its know for. So relax your normal body and get ready for the top 5 - enhanced humans! 5. Nathan Spencer - Bionic Commando series Back in the late eighties you might not have been aware of Nathan Spencer's awesome enhancements. But in the past few years Capcom has made several Bionic Commando games that proof that it's cool to have a robot arm when you are fighting terrorists for a government that despises you. 4. Raiden - Metal Gear series Being a soldier for hire and trying to protect the innocent isn't the easiest job in the world. But when you are a half robot half human like Raiden in the Metal Gear series it suddenly becomes a lot more doable. Fast movements, extreme sword fighting, Raiden is quite the bad ass! 3. Agent 47 - Hitman series Agent 47 was born on September 5th in 1964 as a fourth generation clone with an enhanced DNA structure. He is the ultimate assassin with awesome physical and mental strength. 47 can kill anyone in the world making him a perfect example of the dangers of human enhancement. 2. Master Chief - Halo series Master Chief is a cybernetically enhanced super soldier destined to save the universe from an evil threat. With nearly 30 years of active duty, he is one of the most decorated war veterans in the United Nations Space Command. John one one seven is simply awesome. 1. Adam Jensen - Deus Ex Human Revolution We've put Adam Jensen on top of our list because he is a bad ass enhanced human and because this topic plays a central role in his game. Deus Ex: Human Revolution questions the ethics of advancing humanity with superior artificial body parts. Top 5 - Evil corporations in gaming

06:04
If we've learned anything from movies, games and real life .... it's that big corporations are evil. The companies on this list are all willing to wipe out humanity just to hit their quarterly numbers. It's time for the Top 5 - Evil Corporations in gaming! 5. Union Aerospace Corporation - Doom series We all know companies make mistakes especially when they are doing important research. But the Union Aerospace Corporation in Doom takes screwing up to a whole new level when they accidentally open a portal to Hell. I feel sorry for the PR person who has to do damage control on the whole 'unleashing demons from another dimension' thing. 4. GenTek - Prototype series Pharmaceutical companies already have an evil vibe surrounding them and Gentek from the Prototype series only reaffirms that image. Funded by the shadow military unit Blackwatch the company is contracted to work on biological weaponry. It all goes terribly wrong when the dangerous Blacklight virus leaks in Manhattan turning people into flesh eating monsters. Oopsie. 3. Ultor Corporation - Red Faction/Saints Row series The Ultor Corporation is so evil that its money grabbing claws span multiple games. They are an incredibly corrupt group that owns most of the city in the Saint's Row series. Fast forward eighty years and Ultor now rules colonised Mars with an iron fist in the Red Faction series. Not bad for a company that started out selling t-shirts in Stilwater in the early 2000's. 2. Abstergo Industries - Assassin's Creed series Abstergo from the Assassin's Creed series looks like a typical pharmaceutical giant to the outside world. But in reality, the company is just the public face of the Templar Order, an ancient society of power-mongers. Thanks to ancient magical artifacts Abstergo have guided and controlled most of human technological development to their benefit. They might want to beef up their security force though. 1. Umbrella Corporation - Resident Evil series Umbrella from the Resident Evil series has to be the most famous evil corporation in the world. This multi-national pharmaceutical company is not only the main villain in most of the Resident Evil games, but also in the movies the franchise spawned. Some of the most powerful and deadly viruses are prepared by the Umbrella Corporation turning people into zombies or even more dangerous B.O.W's. That's Bio Organic Weapon by the way. These guys are true experts in viral marketing. Top 5 - Punishing modern games

04:15
Some like their games soft. Others like them hard. And in some cases, the player doesn't have a choice and will have to suffer every avenue for little more than the game's pleasure. And to tell them off, of course. So let's prime our souls and thicken our skin for our top five most punishing games. 5. Spelunky Spelunky may have the outward appearance of a kiddies Flash game, but lose your wits for just a second and one of its many obstacles will mark your immediate demise. Levels are completely randomised every time you die as well, so good luck memorising any patterns. Bloody spike pits! 4. Super Meat Boy Manoeuvring a skinless block-shaped boy around menacing levels might sound like a walk in the park. But what happens if you don't do it exactly right and slip up just once in the process? You explode into a mist of giblets and right back to the beginning of the level you go. Over and over again. Just one more try, I swear! 3. Counter-Strike The granddaddy of all multiplayer FPS games isn't a mere pushover like its offspring. Running on the essence of pure skill-on-skill and precision, Counter-Strike itself doesn't want to kill or punish you. It's the human opposition who wish to slaughter you and teabag your bloody corpse afterwards who wants to do that. 2. Dark Souls Known for its insane difficulty and trial-and-error gameplay, Dark Souls is the RPG equivalent of a field of mouse traps. Even the messages left by past players aren't exactly helpful. Some call it unfair and artificially difficult, but if you can look at death as a lesson rather than a punishment you might just fall in love with it. 1. I Wanna Be the Guy Some punishing games wish to teach players a lesson. Others strive to cause pain and give players a flat-out mental breakdown. And unless you're able to tap into the game's psyche and obliterate it from within, you're heading for the latter. I Wanna Be the Guy is Super Mario Bros. from the mind of a sadist for the pleasure of gaming masochists. What a combination! Alyx Vance - Half Life 2 Half Life 2 would not have been the same without Alyx Vance. Unlike many sidekicks, she is extremely useful in almost any situation. We look forward to seeing more of her when Valve finally gets around to releasing the near-mythical Half-Life 3. 3. Victor "Sully" Sullivan - Uncharted series Victor Sullivan from the Uncharted serious is a sidekick you can count on to pick you up no matter how hairy a situation may get. Top 5 - Funny Engrish in games

04:15
Nowadays Japanese games are correctly translated... well, most of them anyway. But back in the day Japanese developers didn't have the budget or manpower for a good translation. This resulted in truly hilarious cases of Engrish. Here is our Top 5 Engrish in games! 5 - Metal Gear - NES So imagine you're a native English speaker playing Metal Gear on the N.E.S. You're having a great time until.... Modern Metal Gear is still not easy to understand but at least it's not because of bad spelling. 4 - X-Men - Arcade game Did he just say welcome to die? ... Guess grammar isn't important if you're Magneto... 3 - Ghostbusters - NES The ending of Ghostbusters on the NES is a perfect example of Engrish. The serious Japanese message about honor just becomes comical when translated into English. And the spelling, o god the spelling... 2 - Ghosts N' Goblins - NES To beat Ghosts N' Goblins you have to beat Satan and the entire rest of the game twice. And both times you get a message in broken English... "This story is happy end." Well, that's good to know. 1 - Zero Wing - Mega Drive The Mega Drive or Genesis game Zero Wing is the number one in our top 5. Almost all the lines in the intro of this game are absolute classics. The famous line 'All your base are belong to us' became a popular meme on its own transcending the world of gaming. Badly translated games just don't get any better than this. What are some your favorite examples of badly translated Japanese games? Let us know in the comments below! Top 5 - Deceiving characters

04:42
Spoiler alert: This video contains spoilers for games from 2012 and older. Scrolls down to see which games are spoiled in this video. We all know looks can be deceiving, even in video games. In this top 5 we give you five characters that seem cute or sexy, but end up stabbing you in the back. Get ready for the top 5 Deceiving characters in gaming! This video contains spoilers for Resident Evil, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Bioshock, Portal 2 and the last four big Rockstar games including Red Dead Redemption. 5. Wesker - Resident Evil We should have known Wesker was a bad guy from the moment we set foot in the Resident Evil mansion. But our young brains were too focused on zombies to realize Wesker was working for Umbrella. Guess you should never trust a guy who wears sunglasses inside. 4. General Shepherd - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 The moment General Shepherd is revealed as one of the bad guys in Modern Warfare 2 is absolutely brutal. The execution scene filled us with so much rage that we couldn't wait to kill that backstabbing bastard. This is for Ghost and Roach you son of bitch! 3. Atlas - Bioshock Bioshock would have been impossible to complete without the help of Atlas. He is your buddy right up until you finally meet Andrew Ryan. Figuring out Atlas has been controlling you the entire time is definitely one of the biggest deceptions in gaming. 2. Wheatley - Portal 2 Wheatley is an adorable little A.I. with a funny accent in Portal 2. But he goes totally psycho when he gets just the tiniest bit of power. Evil Wheatley does provide some of the most hilarious dialogue in gaming history, so we can't possibly stay mad at the little guy. He even apologizes after the credits. 1. Big Smoke - Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Rockstar games are full of deceiving characters. There's Lance Vance in Vice City, Dimitri in GTA 4 and Edgar Ross in Red Dead Redemption. But the biggest backstabber of them all is Big Smoke in San Andreas. It was such a shock to discover that he and Ryder betrayed the Grove gang. One thing's for sure, we're not going to trust anyone in the upcoming GTA 5. Retro game of the week - Stunts (PC)

02:36
Once upon a time pc's were not controlled by a Mouse, but mainly with a keyboard. We didn't have Windows 8 but played games loaded from basic MS-DOS menus. In those days we didn't play Gran Turismo 6 or Forza Motorsport 5, no we played the ultimate racing game Stunts! When Stunts, which was also known as 4D Stunts Driving, was released in 1990 this game was mind blowing! For the fact checkers among you, this game was made by the creators of the Test Drive series. While Test Drive and its successor were focused on normal races, it was Stunts that added some extra fun with... yeah, well, stunts of course. Stunts was a racing game for sure. You needed to complete a race, against one computer opponent or the clock, as fast as possible. The cars differed from each other in speed and featured over and under steer. It was pretty sophisticated for its time. The game stood out from the crowd because it made it possible to make stunts. Corkscrews, loops and bridge jumps were the most spectacular things you could do in this game. To win, crashing was NO option! Another feature that made this game stand out was its replay options. You could make replays of your race, using different camera angels. Multiple replays could be made as well. And, above everything else, you could make these replays from the races you drove on your OWN tracks. Yes, your own tracks. Stunts actually featured an amazing track editor that would allow you to build tracks with loops as much as you wanted. You could also add some windmills and stuff as environmental decorations. Seriously. Stunts looks like crap compared to modern racing games, but back in 1990 this stuff was AWESOME. Top 5 - Worst games of 2013

04:38
2013 has been a very exciting year for gamers with the release of a new GTA and two new consoles. But that doesn't mean that it didn't have some absolute stinkers. Brace yourself for the top 5 worst games of 2013! 5. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct - Activision In a predictable twist everybody saw coming, Activision's lazy cash-in on The Walking Dead ended up being really terrible. Made in less than a year this abysmally rushed game brought the player little more than frustration and disappointment. What a waste. 4. Star Trek The Video Game - Namco Bandai Games We know movie games tend to be bad but Star Trek The Video Game took sucking to a whole new dimension. Terrible animations, dull combat and rampant bugs wore out it's welcome long before its pointless story came to an end. It's a game, Jim, but not as we know it. 3. Fighter Within - Ubisoft Fighter Within is everything Microsoft promised Kinect 2.0 wouldn't be. The gesture recognizing is so terrible that playing this game feels like you're being punched in the face. If the Fighter Within is anything to go by, we're in for another generation of disappointing Kinect games. 2. Ride to Hell: Retribution - Deep Silver Ride to Hell: Retribution gets everything that makes a computer game fun completely wrong. The camera, controls, graphics, voice acting and combat are an insult to gamers who paid money for this crap. We know the game had a horrendous development cycle but it should have been left to rot in hell without any form of retribution. 1. Aliens: Colonial Marines - Sega Aliens: Colonial Marines also had a terrible development cycle but the game Gearbox eventually released was not just a disappointment. It was downright depressing. The graphics looked way worse than they did in the trailers, the plot played out like a bad fan-made film and the gameplay just felt dated and boring. The game also had more bugs than Xenomorphs which is really inexcusable. Sega and Gearbox should be ashamed of themselves. Top 5 - Female voice actors

04:58
The voice of a game hero can make or break a character. That's why developers are always looking for exceptional voice talent to make their creations even more awesome. In this Top 5 we take a look at the five best female voice actors. 5. Grey DeLisle - Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines Grey DeLisle is a seasoned voice actress who landed a gig in Diablo 3 as the Female Wizard.... She also played the brash Dalish elven mage Velanna in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening. Her role in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is our favourite however. The way she voices Therese and Jeanette is one of the most memorable parts of the game. 4. Tara Strong - Batman: Arkham City Tara Strong has done voice-work for a lot of different games. Ranging from Rikku in Final Fantasy X ... to Paz Ortega in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.... But we love her most as Harley Quinn in Batman: Arkham City.... and who can forget her role as the cute airhead Juliet Starling in Lollipop Chainsaw.... The woman is a voice acting veteran. 3. Jen Taylor - Halo series We all love the voice of Master Chief in Halo but let's not forget his female sidekick Cortana. Jen Taylor has been the voice of Master Chief's A.I. since the first game. Every conversation between the Chief and Cortana has been music to our ears. Taylor plays an especially big role in Halo 4 as Cortana slowly descends into madness.... Great stuff. 2. Ellen McLain - Portal & Portal 2 The Portal series wouldn't be the same without the steely-voiced supercomputer GLaDOS. The rogue A.I. is voiced by opera singer and voice actress Ellen McLain. She does an amazing job with her deadpan delivery of some really funny lines... And who can forget the credit song? McLain even helped a gamer who build a custom level to propose to his girlfriend... She said yes by the way. 1. Jennifer Hale - Mass Effect 2 & 3 With over a hundred roles in games so far Jennifer Hale is easily the most recognizable female voice actor out there. Hale has voiced characters like Bastila Shan in Knights of the Old Republic ... and Naomi Hunter in Metal Gear.... We love the work she did in the Mass Effect series the most however. She made playing a Femshep extremely awesome with her low, commanding and sultry voice... We love it! Retro game of the week - The Curse of Monkey Island (PC)

04:17
This week we are playing The Curse of Monkey Island on the PC. This LucasArts classic from 1997 is widely regarded as one of the funniest and most brilliant point'n'click adventures of all time. The Curse of Monkey Island once again centered around everybody's favorite wannabe pirate Guybrush Threepwood. He had to rescue his beloved Elaine from zombie pirate LeChuck. Of course he only made things worse by accidently turning her into a gold statue. Now it was up to you to undo the curse and save your fiancée. The Curse of Monkey Island was a HUGE improvement over the previous games in the series. It was the first Monkey Island with voice acting and nice cartoony graphics. But it was the cast of ridiculously funny characters that made this game so awesome to play. The actual gameplay of Monkey Island consisted of typical point'n'click adventure fare. You had to travel all over the island to pick up items and talk to people in order to progress. The game got really crazy when it came to combining items. You had to combine the weirdest things which could be frustrating at times. But I guess all is fair in the name of having a good laugh. Another great thing about the game were the sword battles. You didn't win by being faster than your opponents but by being better at insulting them. Three successful insults was enough to bring even the toughest pirate to his knees. Genius. The Curse of Monkey Island really is one of the best adventure games ever made. It's funny, it looks great and it's very hard to quit once you start playing. We highly recommend it to anyone who likes adventure games or wants to be pirate. The chocolate cherry cake in Portal looks so delicious that many gamers went straight to the kitchen to make it for themselves. Hmmm take that Glados! 4. Sinner's sandwich - Deadly Premonition The Sinner's sandwich in Deadly Premonition is a great metaphor for the game: It looks awful but once you try it .... 3. The delicious fast food has appeared throughout the series leaving us craving behind our television sets. I fact I could go for some chili dogs right now! 2 . Top 5 - Psychos in gaming

04:56
We love to have sicko's in our games. Because - let's face it - there's nothing better than saving the world from a mentally disturbed freak. And after our Facebook followers told us they liked the idea, we decided to bring you ... the top five psychopaths in games! Randall Forrester - Red Dead Redemption Randall Forrester from Red Dead Redemption seems like an okay guy. He's a bit weird, but okay... there are more characters in this cowboy game that are a poco loco. Until you realise he wants to eat you for dinner. This cannibal is one sick puppy! Vladimir Makarov - Call of Duty Modern Warfare Vladimir Makarov is the main villain in Call of Duty Modern Warfare. He really goes all out psycho in the second Modern Warfare, killing dozens of innocent people at an airport. He does everything in his power to make the world tremble in fear. The Origami Killer - Heavy Rain When a person likes to drown little boys and make their fathers suffer to save their sons, you know you're dealing with a psychopath. The Origami Killer from the Playstation 3 thriller Heavy Rain did just that. Poor old Ethan goes through hell thanks to this sadistic psycho. The Joker - Batman Arkham City The Joker is one of the most famous psychopaths in the world. He doesn't have real motive other than just wanting to see the world burn. We absolutely love how Star Wars actor Mark Hamill voices this character in the Arkham games. It's so disturbing! Vaas - Far Cry 3 The biggest psychopath in gaming is of course Vaas, the villain from the hit shooter Far Cry 3. This guy wants to show you the definition of insanity... Well that might be true Vaas, but we're pretty sure you're not exactly sane yourself. Now that's what we call a true psycho. The end of an era - Disney shuts down LucasArts

02:19
The Walt Disney Company has pulled the plug on LucasArts. The developer and publisher of many Star Wars games and adventure games from the nineties is no more. Disney will license its brands, like Star Wars and Indiana Jones, to other companies, so games about a galaxy far, far away will not seize to exist. But the name of Lucasarts will no longer be shown on your screen. Lucasarts will not be remembered for games like Kinect Star Wars or the action game Fracture. More likely your memories will go to Star Wars The Force Unleashed and - without a doubt - Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. But on a more personal note we'd like to remember the nineties. The time when The Secret of Monkey Island, Sam & Max, Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle were the best point-and-click adventure games out there. Lucasarts, thanks for all the memories! Retro game of the week - Conker's Bad Fur Day

04:28
Aaah Rare.... We still remember when it was so exciting when a new game from you would come out. Like Conker's Bad Fur Day in 2001. With gameplay that would rival their own great Banjo Kazooie, it was going to be the pinnacle of N64 platformers. How things have changed since that studio got bought by Microsoft. But never mind that. Conker's Bad Fur Day was an adult oriented game involving a hung-over squirrel, a good looking bunny, and a giant poo. The brilliance of Conker came from its writing and voice acting. The wit and charm that was put into such despicable creatures was amazing, and a testament to Rare's dry British humour. You could really sympathize with Conker, who, after a heavy night of drinking, wakes up the next morning in a field, just wanting to go home. The game was hilarious the whole way through, though it did sink quite low with its toilet humor. The reason that it is worth playing today is the same reason that it was a good buy when it was new, it's a one of a kind game. And the humor, unlike the graphics, which are still some of the best on the N64, have not succumbed to age at all. Just stay away from the Xbox remake. Although it has updated graphics and sounds, Microsoft brutally censored the game, removing many of the jokes. The Great Mighty Poo Song is notably absent for instance. Although the N64 version is getting harder to find, we still urge you to get that version. Going to all that extra trouble to get a filthier version of a game would certainly make Conker proud. Top 5 - Celebrity appearances in gaming

04:27
You can't turn on a TV or pick up a newspaper without being bombarded by celebrities. They even pop up in games from time to time. Get ready for our five favorite celebrity appearances in gaming! Jack Black - Brütal Legend It was absolutely awesome to see Jack Black play the role of roadie Eddie Riggs in Brütal Legend. The actor did a great job voicing the character and even dressed up as Eddie to promote the game. It was also great to see this guy show up. Burt Reynolds - Saint's Row: The Third We expected to see a lot of things in Saint's Row: The Third but Burt 'fucking' Reynolds wasn't one of them. It was great to see the actor ham it up as the mayor of Steelport. His cameo was amazing but unfortunately too short to leave a lasting impression. Seth Green - Jeff "Joker" Moreau Seth Green did a great job portraying Jeff "Joker" Moreau in the Mass Effect series. The handicapped pilot is clearly modeled after the actor and the developers even gave him the same sarcastic sense of humor. Phil Collins - GTA Vice city stories We absolutely love the cameo of Phil Collins in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City stories. You have to protect the rock star against a horde of criminals who are after his shady music manager. The developers even managed to get one of his most famous 80's classics in the game. Vin Diesel - The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay Vin Diesel appears as Riddick in Escape from Butcher Bay and Assault on Dark Athena. The muscle bound actor even showed up in driving game the Wheelman but we like him most as Riddick. His deep voice and scary look makes the notorious space criminal such a bad ass in the game. Vin Diesel as Riddick is hands down our favorite celebrity appearance in gaming of all time! Do you know any good celebrity cameo's in gaming? Let us know in the comments below! Top 5 - Devils in games

04:07
Evil comes in all shapes and sizes. But the true face of evil is of course the devil himself. Here are the five best portrayals of true evil in gaming! 5. - The Darkness - Darkness series Demonic arms might not be the most classical representation of the devil. But when an evil voice wants you to do terrible things, you must admit The Darkness sure smells a lot like Lucifer. 4. - Satan - The Binding of Isaac In The Binding of Isaac you lock yourself in a basement because your own mom wants to kill you. As if that isn't messed up enough you found a whole bunch monsters there including good old Satan. He voices lines from your Mom played backwards. Boy that's creepy. 3. - Lucius - Lucius Lucius might just be the son of the devil but that doesn't make him any less evil. All sorts of 'accidents' happen around this kid. Lucius was born on June 6th in 1966 and on his sixth birthday, he started showing signs of his true origin. I'm sure his father would be very proud. 2. - Lucifer - Dante's Inferno In Dante's Inferno you literally travel through the nine circles of hell to kill the ultimate evil, Lucifer. It doesn't take long before he reveals his true form ... which is kind of impressive. Who knew the devil was hung like a horse? 1. - Diablo - Diablo series The best and most classic portrayal of the face of evil is of course Diablo from the Diablo series. This ultimate evil is the Lord of Hatred and he has only one purpose: The destruction and enslavement of all mankind. And if you're lucky he will also drop some epic loot. Top 5 - Dystopias in gaming

04:34
In some games 'authority' is merely a word. A word that is easily retired with a fast car and a couple of RPGs to the face. But in other games authority is a chokeholding reality. Let's use our freedom of speech and jump into the top five dystopias in gaming! 5. 'The City' - Mirror's Edge Now why is it that free-running and authority work so well together? Because screw you, authority! That's why! In Mirror's Edge's unnamed city of white-washed buildings Big Brother always has its eye on you. Good thing you and your 'Runner' compadres are pretty hard to catch. 4. Mars - Red Faction Guerilla The EDF in Red Faction Guerilla has forced Martian miners into a permanent state of unfree labour to supply earth with resources. It's a direct rip-off of Total Recall in almost every way, but the point stands that when mining operations finally do open up on Mars, we're not going to rush to apply. 3. Columbia - BioShock Infinite While Rapture is a dystopia in ruin, Columbia is a dystopia in motion. At the very peak of its power over the people under the regime of the highly-deluded and quite-clearly-insane Zachary Comstock. Behind the peach-coloured walls and juicy candy apples there lies immense trouble up in the clouds. 2. City 17 - Half-Life 2 These famous words are heard upon entry to City 17 in Half-Life 2. A quite friendly welcome into unfamiliar territory for some and the signing of a prison sentence for others. The Soviet-like regime tracks your every move making it a true nightmarish dystopia of the future. 1. Arstotzka - Papers, Please The fictional Communist country of Arstotzka may be one of the very latest gaming dystopias, but that won't stop it from going down in history. It's a truly bone-chilling place under the watchful eye and the iron thumb. Gritty and realistic, playing Papers, Please will make you feel how this game looks. Top 5 - Violent racing games

04:08
Gamers just love to race cars and beat the competition. But things get a lot more interesting when you add crashes, weapons and even blood to the mix. These are the top five most violent race games ever made! Death Race - Exidy At this point, it's downright quaint. But when Death Race hit arcades more than three decades ago it was the first video game to spark controversy for its violence. In chunky, black-and-white pixilated graphics players ran down pedestrians in their vehicles. Death Race was considered extremely shocking in 1976 leading to politicians banning the game. Boy, things sure have changed. Road Rash 3: Tour de Force - Electronic Arts The final installment of Road Rash on the Sega Genesis, Road Rash 3: Tour de Force was released in 1995. In this classic racing game you ride a motorcycle and literally fight with other riders. You can simply overtake them but it's much more fun to beat them with your fists and all sorts of weapons. Now that's some serious road rage. Blood Drive - Activision Blood Drive from 2010 lets you compete in a television show in which muscle cars battle each other in arena's filled with zombies The aim is to stay alive while attempting to wreck the other vehicles and killing a whole lot of zombies in the process. A zombie apocalypse sure would make television a whole lot more interesting. Twisted Metal: Black - Sony Computer Entertainment Twisted Metal: Black from 2001 is the darkest chapter in the popular car combat series. All the levels, music and cars in this game have a dark gothic feel. And the story lines of the deranged characters are really messed up. Playing this game for a couple of hours will take your mind to a really dark place. Twisted Metal: Black is Mario Kart for serial killers. Carmageddon - Interplay Some days you just want to watch the world burn and for those days Carmageddon is just what the doctor ordered. This racing game heavily encouraged players to win races by wrecking other cars and running down every last living thing in a level. The fact that you gain multipliers and score bonuses for running over football teams of wandering grannies caused a lot of controversy. To this day Carmageddon is one of the most violent racing games ever created. 04:08
Most video game heroes know how to drink responsibly but not the characters in this top 5. The individuals on this list have turned social drinking into hardcore alcoholism. Grab yourself a cold one and get ready for the top 5 drunks in gaming! 5 - Ethan Thomas - Condemned 2: Bloodshot Ethan Thomas is a good example of the evils of alcohol. This man went from being a clean cut FBI agent to a bearded hobo thanks to mr. Whisky. His alcoholism even manifests as an evil alter-ego that taunts him during hallucinations. And drinking actually helps him steady his aim. Now that's messed up! 4 - Max Payne - Max Payne 3 Max Payne is another man that tries to numb his pain with alcohol. He even combines it with painkillers and lots of lots of cigarettes which doesn't always go well... Payne's alcoholism doesn't seem to effect his work however. Even with a hang over from hell he's still one of the fastest gunmen out there 3 - Soda Popinski - Punch Out series Vodka Drunkinski might have changed his name to Soda Popinski but he's not fooling anyone. Only a true drunk would try to conceal their drinking by pretending it's soda. This Russian boxer has been loaded since the 8-bit era making him a true pioneer of video game drunks. 2 - Conker - Conker's Bad Fur Day What's more endearing than an intoxicated cartoon squirrel? An intoxicated cartoon squirrel that swears like a sailor and pees in public. Conker has been absolutely hammered since the Nintendo 64 days. And it doesn't look like this cuddly booze hound will clean up his act any time soon. 1 - Shun Di - Virtua Fighter series Shun Di from the Virtua Fighter series is the ultimate drunk in gaming. This grandpa based his entire fighting style on being shitfaced. After a few swigs from his bottle he transforms from a cripple old man into an ass-kicking drunken master. Alcohol as a power up, now that's a message we can get behind! Retro game of the week - Diablo (PC)

04:19
There have many been successful RPGs and action games, but never a combination that worked so well as the first Diablo back in 1996. With its randomized levels, colored loot and great atmosphere Diablo really was a genre defining game. You started the game by picking one of three classes -- Warrior, Rogue or Sorcerer -- and began your quest in a tiny little town called Tristram. Your job was to go through 16 floors of isometric hell and murder Diablo himself. To do this, you had to master the abilities of your hero. The Warrior was a master of close quarters combat ... the Rogue class was amazing at ranged attacks ... and the Sorcerer was an absolute beast with a Mana Shield and a few spells under his belt. As if leveling up your character wasn't addicting enough, there was also a whole lot of sweet loot to find. The thrill of Diablo has always been finding "that one item drop" that made you an absolute badass. There were tons of doors to open, enemies to kill, treasures to find and money to spend making Diablo a really addictive game. Diablo wasn't a very long game and you could finish it in about an hour. But after beating it once, you would want to go through it again just to level up and get more items. Randomization of the levels made sure that it was a different experience on each play through. There was also a basic online multiplayer function, though it was ripe with hacks and duping at the time. The graphics and great sound design of Diablo completely pulled you into the game. You really felt like you were in a corrupted dungeon heading towards Hell. And the areas and enemies only grew more creepy as you travelled further down. Even today it's hard to find a game with such a great feel for atmosphere. For all that Diablo did well, there were a couple of weaknesses. Your character could only walk, which was made the game feel sluggish at times. It could also be difficult to pick up items as they were hard to see on the dark floors. And the lack of a difficulty setting made the game way too easy for players with higher level characters. Diablo is, hands-down, one of the best action RPG's ever made. It had magnificent atmosphere and gameplay that was so addicting that it would keep you playing long into the night. If you haven't played Diablo already, we highly recommend it to anyone who wants to see were gaming's obsessing with loot and leveling up started. Top 5 - Annoying enemies in gaming

03:55
Games just wouldn't be games without some form of enemy or obstacle stopping you in your tracks. That's for sure. But there are some enemies out there who are so damn annoying that they shouldn't be allowed past the loading screen. Baseball bats at the ready, let's pummel our way through our top five most annoying enemies in gaming. 5. Hammer Bros. - Super Mario Bros. series When we have the hammers, it's great fun. But when those friggin' Hammer Bros. get ahold of them, it's nothing but frustration by the bucket-load. Well, unless you're a speedrunner. Compared to their weakling Koopa brethren, these guys are the Chuck Norrises of their trade. 4. The Police - Grand Theft Auto series Of course we understand that they're only doing their job by keeping the peace and thwarting crimes in progress. But stop spoiling our fun, damn you! Blazing down a packed city street mowing down everything in our path isn't nearly as much fun with these guys around. Hey, here's a dollar. Go have a cup of coffee and a doughnut on us. 3. Cazadores - Fallout: New Vegas Absolutely anyone who has played Fallout: New Vegas will tell you how much they hate the Cazadores. And for very good reason too: THEY'RE HORRIBLE! Not only are these fire-breathing pests stupidly overpowered, but they practically require a nuclear blast to send them to their graves as well. Just buzz off! 2. Malboros - Final Fantasy series You know when you have one of those really annoying itches that just never goes away and bugs you for hours? That's the Malboros. With their stat-crippling 'Bad Breath' attack and dirty fighting tactics, these uglies have lead to the deaths of many controllers over the years. Weed killer is all these things deserve. 1. Rakk - Borderlands series Bullymongs, Crystalisks and crazy midgets are all fine. And we love 'em. But the Rakk? Get the hell out! Even bigger trolls than the ones that inhabit the land of Skyrim, the Rakk always show up when you least expect it and even moreso when you don't want them to. Where's Rakk flu when you need it, huh? Five good reasons why - Battlefield 4 is going to be awesome

02:58
The first Battlefield on next generation hardware might just be the complete package we've been waiting on since the launch of 1942 more than ten years ago. Here are five good reasons why Battlefield 4 is going to blow us away. Music by Protiac: http://www.youtube.com/user/Protiac 1. Frostbite 3 The game looks absolutely stunning thanks to the new Frostbite 3 engine. But we're not just getting more eye candy. The gameplay will also be much more interesting thanks the powerful engine's ability to generate spectacular set-pieces and even bigger environments for us to explore. 2. Improved single player The single player of Battlefield 3 felt very guided and restrictive but that's no longer the case in Battlefield 4. This time you enter big 'action area's' where you can choose you own approach. You can jump in vehicles, snipe enemies from a distance or run in guns blazing. You can even direct squad mates and spot enemies like you do in the multiplayer mode. 3. 60 fps across the board PC gamers have had the joy of running Battlefield at 60 frames per second for some time now. But Battlefield 4 will be the first time a Battlefield title has run at 60 frames per second on console. This brings the game inline with rival Call of Duty: Ghosts. We can't wait to experience the awesome open map gameplay with such a smooth frame rate. 4. Destructible environments Battlefield 4 has destructible environments giving you the ability to blow holes in walls and crumble entire buildings. If you know someone is camping in a small building in Battlefield 4, it's no problem. Just get some sort of explosive device and blow the building to smithereens. Great stuff. 5. Commander mode is back Battlefield 4 is bringing back the popular Commander Mode from Battlefield 2. The strategic leadership role grants one player an overhead view of the battle and access to various support abilities. The addition of Commander mode could genuinely open up a new level of teamwork and tactics we missed in Battlefield 3. And it even works on tablets which is extremely cool. Top 5 - Swearing in games

04:48
All right listen up you fucks. It's time for the motherfucking top 5 swearing in games. Now let's get this piece of shit show started, shall we! 5. Scarface: The World Is Yours The movie Scarface use the word fuck 207 times so of course the game would be also full of profanity. The thick Cuban accent of Tony ' say hello to my little friend' Montana makes it that much more awesome. We fucking love it. 4. Prototype 2 Sergeant James Heller is a bad motherfucker in Prototype 2. Let's count how many times this son of a bitch drops the F-bomb in just ten minutes of playtime. 3. Bulletstorm The shooter Bulletstorm got really creative with its swearing. I mean have you ever called someone 'dicktits'? Or had an argument about who killed who's dick? Welcome to the wonderful world of Bulletstorm! 2. House of the Dead: Overkill Detective Isaac Washington has a habit of using the word fuck in some really funny ways in House of the Dead: Overkill. In 2009 the game was officially declared the most profane video game in history. A statement that has since become absolute fucking bullshit. 1. Mafia 2 Mafia II holds the current record for the most swearing in a video game. It uses the word fuck an impressive 200 times. Now that's some fucked up shit. Top 5 - Worst sequels in gaming

04:10
In today's gaming industry just about any successful game will get a sequel. But that's not always a good thing. We've made a list of sequels that were disappointing, misguided or just plain broken. Get ready for the top 5 worst sequels in gaming. Dragon Age 2 - Electronic Arts Dragon Age 2 isn't a bad game, it's just a major letdown compared to its excellent original. BioWare swapped the open-ended rpg elements with gameplay that would be more at home in an action game. The many repeated environments were a further indication that this sequel was nothing more than a rush job. Deus Ex: Invisible War - Eidos Interactive Deus Ex was a revolutionary title that truly left a lot to live up to. Unfortunately the much-hyped sequel Invisible War felt like a dilution of the original formula. Gone were the cool RPG and stealth elements in this sequel that felt more like a generic shooter. It took seven years before the excellent Deus Ex: Human Revolution returned the series to its former glory. Perfect Dark Zero - Microsoft Game Studios A new game from the creators of GoldenEye and Perfect Dark for a brand new powerful game console seems awesome right? Wrong! Perfect Dark Zero was a hugely disappointing follow-up to one of the best FPS games of its era. It had a loopy, futuristic sci-fi plot, boring multiplayer and lackluster graphics. Perfect Dark Zero turned out to be the beginning of the end for the once great developer Rare. Devil May Cry 2 - Capcom The original Devil May Cry had lush visuals, immensely satisfying action and a thoroughly likeable protagonist. None of these things returned in the sequel. Devil May Cry 2 somehow looked worse than the original. And the strategy-based combat was transformed into a boring hack and slash fare. Oh, and Dante is also a lot less funny in this game. Duke Nukem Forever - 2K Games Granted, anyone who expected the 15 year wait for Duke Nukem Forever to actually be worth it was nuts. But we hoped the ridiculously long development period would have reaped something a little more fruitful than this massively underwhelming sequel. Duke Nukem Forever looked awful despite its long load times and the once funny Duke couldn't even put a smile on our faces anymore. Top 5 - Redheads in gaming

03:42
Everybody knows that blondes and brunettes are abundant, but redheads are rare. That's probably why a lot of developers like to put a few fire haired women in their virtual fantasy worlds. Break out the sun block cause it's time for the Top 5 - Redheads in gaming! 5. Trip - Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Well, if you're going to be enslaved by someone, it might as well be by a hot young redhead with big holes in her pants. We could have also gone for Nariko from Ninja Theory's other title Heavenly Sword, but we prefer Trip. Those British developers sure like redheads. 4. Kasumi - Dead or Alive series Sometimes we make a top 5 without everyone's favorite ginger ninja in it. And we always find ourselves wracked with guilt and regret for days afterwards. Not this time though. I think we can all agree that Kasumi deserves a place on this list. 3. Female Shepard - Mass Effect series The default female Shepard is a tough smart redhead voiced by Jennifer Hale. That's perfection right there. And it doesn't hurt that she can save the universe while still looking good in a skin-tight suit. 2. Bloodrayne - Bloodrayne series Agent BloodRayne, better known as Rayne is perhaps the hottest redhead vampire you'll ever see. Just beware of her sharp teeth if you don't want your hair to turn red too. Now we know why she's called BloodRayne. 1. Joanna Dark - Perfect Dark Joanna Dark specializes in espionage, combat and looking extremely hot with red shoulder-length hair. Her athletic build and pale complexion makes her a perfect deceptive woman with looks to kill. It has been a while since we last saw her on our televisions but she's still the most famous redhead in gaming. You go girl! Top 5 - Game quotes

04:32
Video game quotes are a great way to share our experiences and identify fellow gamers. Over the years there have been many great lines that have become famous. Here are the five most memorable video game quotes of all time! 5. "War. War never changes." - Fallout series The opening line of all the Fallout games is one of the most memorable quotes in gaming. Even when the world has been turned into nuclear ash, governments have crumbled and society has turned into anarchy, people will people still try to kill each other. War never changes... Except in the Metal Gear universe. 4. "I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I'm all out of gum." - Duke Nukem 3D The Duke has a lot of awesome quotes ... But we like this one the most ... The famous line was actually lifted from the classic sci-fi film "They Live." But since most people know the quote from Duke Nukem 3D, he gets the credit. 3. "Wake up and smell the ashes." Half-Life 2 That line uttered by the mysterious G-Man says a lot about the world of Half-Life 2, and we're pretty sure that none of it is good. There's something about the unique way in which G-Man delivers his lines that sends chills down our spine. It makes his quote about waking up and smelling the ashes even more memorable. 2. "Snake? SNAAAAAAAAKE!!!" - Metal Gear Solid series Anyone who has died in any of the Metal Gear Solid games, knows this famous line screeching over Solid Snake's radio. There are lots of different versions ... but the one from the Colonel is the most famous... No amount of screaming can revive someone but that doesn't stop him from freaking out. It's even referenced in the 'Snakeless' Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. 1. Would you kindly? - Bioshock Everybody remembers the moment you realise you were programmed to follow orders with the phrase 'Would you kindly? in Bioshock. Top 5 - Blondes in gaming

03:22
Gentlemen prefer blondes, even in the world of gaming. That's why we've selected the five hottest video game blondes for your entertainment. Redheads and brunettes can go home cause it's time for the Top 5 Blondes in gaming! 5 . Elena Fisher - Uncharted series Elena from the Uncharted series is one of few ladies in this top 5 who dresses with a reasonable degree of modesty. She proves that you don't need to have a ridiculously oversized chest or skimpy outfit to be considered hot. She absolutely nails the 'girl next door' look making her irresistible to men. 4. Tina Armstrong - Dead or Alive series Tina is the direct opposite of Elena. This Southern girl from the Dead or Alive series is a stereotypical big breasted blonde who dresses slutty. She might not be the most subtle of beauties but that doesn't make her any less hot. 3. Cammy - Street Fighter series Cammy's attraction lies less in her gold plated braid and more in just how extraordinarily high the leg is on that leotard. This cheeky woman is however one of the most famous blondes in gaming. Fighting her means you'll always win, even if you lose. 2. Nina Williams - Tekken series Nina Williams is one of gaming's classic blondes. This Tekken fighter was sexy back when her hair was made out of about eight polygons. She can kick your ass without losing her cool which makes her very sexy indeed. 1. Samus Aran - Metroid series Most people weren't even aware of Samus' gender until they beat the first Metroid. As the desire of horny fanboys increased, she began to shed the armor in more recent games. We love her with or with without armor however. Her sexiness comes from the fact that she's been hiding it from our eyes for so long. Retro game of the week - Blade Runner (PC)

04:07
Blade Runner from 1997 is one of the few movie based games that's actually good. This classic adventure game from Command & Conquer studio Westwood perfectly captured the style and feel of Ridley Scott's sci-fi classic. The story of Blade Runner ran parallel to the movie and followed detective McCoy as he investigated a number of crimes related to an unknown group of replicants. Just like any other point and click adventure you had to gather clues and interrogate suspects in order to progress. What set this game apart was the way in which it perfectly managed to capture the dreary tone of the rainy sci-fi city from the movie. Westwood also recreated many locations from the film and used parts from the excellent Blade Runner soundtrack. All this effort paid off as you really felt like you were inside the Blade Runner world. The investigation you undertook was also really as well done and interesting. All the characters were well acted and intriguing to interrogate ... and McCoy was convincing as the confused detective. The puzzles weren't mind blowing but it was interesting to use things you knew from the movie like the photo analysis machine. Blade Runner even had some combat in the form of rather clunky shooting sequences. The combat was reasonable well done but soon got pretty boring. Luckily it only played a small part in the overall story. Blade Runner was an awesome game back in the day and it's still worth playing if you are a big fan of the source material. Unfortunately you can't find this game on Steam or Good Old Games. All those moments will be lost in time, like .... tears... in... rain. Retro game of the week - Toonstruck (PC)

04:41
This week we're playing Toonstruck on the pc. This adventure game from 1996 about the crazy world of cartoons starred the brilliant Christopher Lloyd of Back to the Future fame. The game's story was about an animator called Drew who gets sucked into a cartoon world of animated characters, some of which were his own creation. Lloyd appeared as a live-action character overlaid onto a colourful cartoon background which gave the game a very distinct look. Trying to get home, Drew travelled throughout the three main lands of the cartoon world: Cutopia -- A place where the cute, innocent Disney-type characters reside, Zanydu -- An 'offshore asylum' for all the wacky Looney Tunes-type characters .... and Malevolands -- Where the evil, bad and nasty cartoons live. The story of Toonstruck was well delivered thanks to a great voice-over cast. There are many voice-actors from famous cartoons present in the game which made the many different cut-scenes a joy to watch. The actual gameplay was less exciting and consisted of traditional point and click adventure fare. But there were more than enough entertaining characters on the way, such as a cow who's into S&M..., a gay scarecrow, oh, excuse me, "carecrow"..... the obnoxiously cute Fluffy Fluffy Bun Bun .. and the Arnold wannabe personal trainer Jim. The animation was absolutely first-rate, and the wildly colorful backgrounds had a deranged charm. The music was also top notch with some brilliantly composed tracks that really made feel like you were inside an cartoon. Hardcore animation fans and fans of cartoons in general will admire the craftsmanship that went into Toonstruck. Toonstruck is still a very fun and innovative game to play. The actual gameplay might not be that exciting but the high production quality and funny writing makes up for it. This game truly is an ode to everything that makes cartoons special and it deserves to be recognized for that. And that's all folks! Five good reasons why - We love The Wolf Among Us

03:14
Earlier this month, Telltale Games released the first episode of their adventure game The Wolf Among Us. Judging from the first episode, Wolf is just as good as The Walking Dead. Here are five good reasons why! 1. It has a smoking pig How many games feature a smoking pig? And he even drinks whiskey too. Now can you see why we love this game? 2. The premise What if fairy tale characters lived in 1980's New York City and used something called Glamour to keep themselves looking human? That's the awesome premise of the Fables comic series The Wolf Among US is based on. We were immediately hooked on the novelty of seeing fairy tale characters lose themselves in alcohol, sex and other vices in a film noir world. 3. Sheriff Bigby True to the genre, you play a troubled, loner detective called Bigby also know as The Big Bad Wolf. At first he seems like a bad cliché but that's just his glamour. Beneath his magical disguise, he's still a monstrous wolf. We love playing this chain-smoking badass with a heart of gold. 4. Brutal fights The fight scenes in The Wolf Among Us are absolutely brutal. These sequences pack a punch never before seen in a Telltale game. Although they are few and far between, when they do occur, they are truly great. 5. The game looks amazing The Wolf Among Us is truly brought to life by its visuals. Colours pop, and character models are crisp, making you feel that you are in the middle of a comic book. And on a technical level the game runs much smoother than The Walking Dead ever did. Retro game of the week - Gran Turismo (PSX)

02:43
This week we're playing Gran Turismo on the original Playstation. The great handling, diverse car selection, good graphics and excellent soundtrack made it hands down the number one race game in 1997. There suddenly was a game that felt both like a simulator and an arcade game. With enough game modes to keep you busy for weeks. Thanks to Lompioppa for allowing use of her Gran Turismo videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/Lompioppa?feature=watch What made Gran Turismo better than other race games was the fact that it had so much to offer. And it also went the extra mile on realism with absolutely outstanding graphics and realistic car handling. We could watch replays for days as they really showed off the power of the Playstation. The realistic racing itself was refreshing. And even when you made a slip up, it was fun using other cars as bumper cushions, knocking them into the side while you kept going. While other games would glorify only a few aspects of racing, this game brought everything out. That made it the closest to the real thing at the time. Your cars weren't over the top. They looked like the sports cars you saw in magazines and on the street. Even earning the credits for a new car kind of took as long as in the real world. You would have to pass a lot of game time before you unlocked all the cars you wanted. This was no Mario Kart. There were over 140 cars to race with, spread across multiple tracks and modes. All unlockable by winning more and more races and passing trials. Speaking of which, there were also driving tests included. Perhaps this was even the hardest part of the game ranging from trivial start and stop challenges, to extreme hairpin cornering and more. Finishing these tests granted you access to the simulation mode, where you could race championships. Gran Turismo was the most sophisticated driving game of its generation. The realistic graphics, variety of game modes and sheer number of different cars blew us away at the time. Gran Turismo redefined racing on consoles and we'll always love it for that reason. Top 5 - Grenades in gaming

03:56
Check out a good Arabic channel for gaming on YouTube DARKpqANGEL's channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/DARKpqANGEL Whether it's a trigger, a bumper or even the Back button - we're looking at you, Mass Effect 1! - it doesn't matter how you throw your grenades. It's the awesomeness of the beasts themselves that we love. So let's pull the pin and get right on with this explosive list! 5. Bolo Grenade - Gears of War series Gears of War's Bolo grenade works absolute wonders at combing through a tight cluster of enemies during the initial scramble. But it's the grenade's unique ability to be tagged onto enemies like a deadly custard pie that sets it worlds apart from the rest of the arsenal. 4. Chaff grenade - Metal Gear Solid series When you're taking a break from turning enemies into fertiliser with your throwable friends you can always substitute dirty boom for clean strategy with a Chaff grenade. You can even use these grenades to turn legendary cyborg ninjas into cry-babies! We still miss you, Frank... 3. Singularity grenades - Borderlands 2 Over-powered psycho marauders wielding toxic shotguns and Suicide Midgets are a dangerous bunch, for sure. But a Singularity grenade with its awesome ability to suck enemies in before obliterating them will make short work of any spiky situation. 2. Plasma grenade - Halo series Some like it hot, but we like it sticky and we absolutely love Halo's Plasma grenade. Whether from two feet away to right across the other side of the map. It's like a game in itself! The Plasma grenade sends the unfortunate recipient off with an absolutely beautiful blue bang, too. 1. Holy Hand Grenade - Worms series Pulled from the hands of Monty Python and placed into the hands of even greater greatness, the Holy Hand Grenade gets our top spot as the best grenade in gaming. Not only is it incredibly effective, but it's an absolute game-changer. HALLELUJAH! Red tree - Deadly Premonition The red tree is an extremely dangerous plant in Deadly Premonition. Its seeds can give you super powers ...... or kill you. It shows you should never eat stuff from the forest unless you're feeling really lucky. 4. Cow plant - The Sims 2: University If you hate the Sims then you will love the Cow plant. This buyable plant in The Sims 2: University can lure Sims with a tongue full of cake and kill them. That is pretty awesome. 3. This plant is so strong that you are forced to pour a special chemical on its roots before you can even start to fight it. Now go and kill it Chris! 2. That's what we call plant power! 1. Piranha Plant - Mario series The Piranha plant in the Mario series is our all time favorite killer plant. This iconic enemy has razor sharp teeth and some species even shoot fire balls at poor Mario. Weirdly enough that doesn't make them any less lovable. Five good reasons why - You shouldn't buy a next-gen console right now

02:31
We've been waiting months for the next generation Xbox One and PlayStation 4 since their announcement. But now that they are finally here you it's probably smarter to wait a little longer. Here are five reasons why you don't need a next-gen console right now! Music by: Televisor - Strut [Monstercat Release] Licensed by Monstercat: http://youtube.com/MonstercatMedia 5. Xbox 360 and PS3 are far from dead Sony and Microsoft have both been very clear in their messaging that current consoles will still be supported for at least the next two years. So playing games on your PS3 or Xbox 360 is still a viable option if you don't care that much about graphics. 4. The launch games aren't that great The delay of Watch Dogs until next spring has made the launch line-up on both consoles kind of underwhelming. There is no killer app that warrants you buying a new system at the moment. 3. It's risky to be an early adopter It's risky to be an early adopter because you have more chance your console will break. It probably won't be as bad the early days of the Xbox 360 but there's something to be said for letting the other guys be beta-testers for a little while. 2. The PC says hello The multi-platform games look just as nice if not better on a decent gaming PC. Plus there's an enormous back catalogue, endless indie games and support from services like Steam. If you already have a nice gaming rig there is simply no reason to buy a next-gen console right now. 1. It's a lot of money Next-gen consoles aren't cheap but if you hold off until the post-Christmas period you may be able to get them with a little discount. At the very least, you can expect a more compelling games bundle to appear in the months to come. Do you guys agree it's better to wait or are you too busy playing games on your brand new PS4 or Xbox One? Please let us know in the comments below!
