Recently, another year has passed without even announced a budget action shooting game which embedded in the realities of World War II. There are many WWII based games appeared, it is true, titles such as Company of Heroes 2 or Sniper Elite III, but let's be honest, it's not quite the same. Games talk about more distant future, and it allows developers to enormous flexibility in terms of script and place of action. You can invent the next without limitation gadgets, weapons, mechanics allow players running on walls, jumping high, the use of drones, laser weapons, mechs, implants - limit is only your imagination.
More titles of famous brands are beating sales records - all seem to be happy. Is it worth to give up something like this to barriers and constraints, the size of which is at least equal freedom of the games embedded in the future? The answer probably lies somewhere in the middle, and we should remind ourselves that the subject of shootings FPP managed to stagger already full circle. In 1997, when Steven Spielberg presented the idea of creating a realistic game FPP World War II, the workers in his studio DreamWorks Interactive knocked his forehead and at all costs tried to dissuade him from this crazy idea, arguing that the then players want to mainly lasers and spaceships. Spielberg, however, insisted that resulted shortly true high dump games depicting another operation is the largest of the war. There were so many that after a few years, everyone began to feel satiety. Then came another bold - studio Infinity Ward game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. A changed CoD in 2007 was the great unknown and a huge financial risk for the publisher - so serious that not counting advanced in the production of World at War, just in case they were working on Call of Duty: Devil's Brigade - another game set in the realities of the Second World War. Modern Warfare proved to be a hit, however, clearing the way for the presentation of hypothetical conflicts in future games. Is it time for another change?

Looking at a number of the above mentioned games, you get the impression that this is Hollywood movies and TV series convinced publishers to address the theme of the Second World War. Are you the next game in these climates, so we have to wait until the next blockbuster? Everything is possible. Light in the tunnel are still quite scarce information about the most expensive series in the history of HBO, telling of the squadron pilots bombers - The Mighty Eighth. Behind the project are standing again, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, so success is more certain. It is a pity that the premiere promises to be no earlier than in 2017. Games have already gone, but a significant way since Hell's Highway and World at War.
