The chimes of Big Ben

01:45
(There is no dialogue in this video) This is the bell in Parliament's Clock Tower (Big Ben). The bell at the centre of this film is called Big Ben. There are two possible explanations for the bell's name: - It could have been named after Sir Benjamin Hall, the First Commissioner of Works, who was a tall man and known in the House of Commons as Big Ben. - It may have been named after a champion heavyweight boxer of the time called Ben Caunt. He fought his last fight in 1857 when it was being decided what to call the bell. Visit http://www.parliament.uk/bigben for more information about Big Ben.

London Facts You Didn't Know ► This Is Not Big Ben

02:31
London, England’s capital, is a 21st-century city with history stretching back to Roman times. It was the first city in the world to reach a population of more than one million, in 1811. London remained the largest city in the world until 1957, when its population was surpassed by Tokyo. From the iconic Tower of London to the Palace of Westminster, here are some of the most fascinating facts about London. Did you know that London buses were not always red? Before 1907, different routes had different-colored buses. One bus company, the London General Omnibus Company, painted their fleet of buses red in order to stand out from the competition. When London Transport was eventually formed as a single company in 1933, red was already the predominant color, so all buses in the Greater London area became red. The world’s first traffic light, a gas lantern that was manually turned by a traffic police officer, was built outside the House of Commons in 1868. Although it was said to be successful at controlling traffic, it blew up the following year, killing the policeman who was operating it. This is not Big Ben. The name Big Ben is technically the nickname for the Great Bell of the clock inside of the clock tower. The clock tower itself is called Elizabeth Tower. The name Big Ben is often used, by extension, to refer to the clock, the tower, and the bell collectively, but it is not universally accepted as referring to the clock and tower. Therefore, it would be most correct to refer to the tower as Elizabeth Tower. Royal navy ships entering the Port of London are still required by law to give a barrel of rum or wine to the Constable of the Tower of London if they wish to enter. This tradition dates all the way back to the 14th century. Today’s British accent first appeared among London’s upper class around the time of the American Revolution. Before that time, the British accent was similar to that of Americans. In the early 1950s, anyone could get ahold of Prime Minister Winston Churchill as his number was in the phone book. In 1891, London built a structure that was designed to surpass the Eiffel Tower in height. Unfortunately, the tower was unstable, so they abandoned the construction and demolished it in 1907. If you didn’t know these fascinating facts before, now u know.

Big Ben Clock Tower - London - England. Famous Landmarks. Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, and often extended to refer to the clock and the clock tower. The tower is officially known as the Elizabeth Tower, renamed as such to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II (prior to being renamed in 2012 it was known as simply "Clock Tower"). The tower holds the second largest four-faced chiming clock in the world (Minneapolis City Hall being the first). The tower was completed in 1858 and had its 150th anniversary on 31 May 2009, during which celebratory events took place. The tower has become one of the most prominent symbols of the United Kingdom and is often in the establishing shot of films set in London. The Elizabeth Tower (previously called the Clock Tower), named in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II in her Diamond Jubilee year, more popularly known as Big Ben, was raised as a part of Charles Barry's design for a new palace, after the old Palace of Westminster was largely destroyed by fire on the night of 16 October 1834. The new Parliament was built in a Neo-gothic style. Although Barry was the chief architect of the Palace, he turned to Augustus Pugin for the design of the clock tower, which resembles earlier Pugin designs, including one for Scarisbrick Hall. The design for the tower was Pugin's last design before his final descent into madness and death, and Pugin himself wrote, at the time of Barry's last visit to him to collect the drawings: "I never worked so hard in my life for Mr Barry for tomorrow I render all the designs for finishing his bell tower & it is beautiful." The tower is designed in Pugin's celebrated Gothic Revival style, and is 315 feet (96.0 m) high. The main bell, officially known as the Great Bell, is the largest bell in the tower and part of the Great Clock of Westminster. The bell is better known by the nickname Big Ben. Along with the Great Bell, the belfry houses four quarter bells which play the Westminster Quarters on the quarter hours. In 2008 a survey of 2,000 people found that the tower was the most popular landmark in the United Kingdom. It has also been named as the most iconic film location in London. World's most famous clock - Big Ben - rings in its 150th anniversary - 2009

03:36
Defiantly low-tech yet accurate to the second, London's Big Ben - the most famous clock in the world - is having its 150th birthday on Sunday. The clock started ticking on 31 May 1859 - and the bell was struck for the first time six weeks later. 150 years on, Big Ben is the iconic symbol of London, and one of the world's best-known landmarks. Part of the Palace of Westminster, which houses the British parliament, Big Ben is a little less than most people imagine. The name is commonly used to describe the clock tower, including the clock face and the bell. But, technically, Big Ben refers just to the biggest of the bells inside the tower - the Great Bell - which weighs more than thirteen tons. How Big Ben became known by this name is open to question. Ian Westworth, who maintains Big Ben and the other clocks in the Palace of Westminster, says there are two theories. One is that it was named after a very large bare-knuckle fighter. The other is that it was named after an equally-large Palace official. Millions (m) of tourists have travelled to London to witness the distinctive chimes of Big Ben. Millions more have heard the bell on the BBC World Service, where for decades it was broadcast each hour. Westworth said there was a good reason why Big Ben made such a distinctive sound. "It has a crack in two places which gives it a slightly off pitch," he said. And that seems to be the secret of Big Ben's enduring popularity across the world. The Big Ben clock tower in London

00:52
The Big Ben clock tower in London is one of the most famous landmarks in the world. But exposure to pollution in the city has made the white clock faces dirty. Recently, the hands of Big Ben were stopped at 12. And the four faces of the clock, that are made up of 312 delicate pieces of glass, are being scrubbed off with soapy water. Now officially called Elizabeth Tower, it is known by the nickname Big Ben, which is in reference to the bell inside of the tower. Paul Robeson, chairman of the British Watch and Clock Makers’ Guild is quoted as saying: “The glass panels over the clock face are terribly thin and fragile, because originally the dials were lit by gas, which is very dim. This is why our window cleaners have to be extremely careful.” Clocksmiths are also taking a look at the inner workings and gears of Big Ben during the cleaning. Each face will take a full day to clean, and it will be a week before Big Ben is heard again in the city of London.

Clock tower which houses Big Ben is renamed to mark Queen Ellizabeth's jubilee

02:03
(12 Sep 2012) Big Ben is one of London's most famous landmarks. Only - it isn't. Big Ben IS the name of the huge bell which chimes the time every hour atop Britain's Houses of Parliament. Visitors and locals alike often call the tower itself Big Ben. But they are wrong. If you are not completely confused already - the tower actually had a name - the Clock Tower - only that has now been changed. Members of Parliament decided to mark Queen Elizabeth's 50 years on the British throne by naming this famous landmark after her. The Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow led the naming ceremony. "I hereby declare that the beloved Clock Tower - one of the best known sights not only in this country but around the world - is now officially renamed the Elizabeth Tower," he said So the proper name is now the Elizabeth Tower. Whether anyone actually calls it that is another matter. As Paul Flynn, anti-monarchist lawmaker said: "There's not one chance in ten-thousand that visitors, that people in this country, will think of this tower as anything but Big Ben." Visitors will continue to flock to one of London's most recognisable tourist destinations - whatever it's called. Places to see in ( London - UK ) Big Ben Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London and is usually extended to refer to both the clock and the clock tower as well. The tower is officially known as Elizabeth Tower, renamed to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II in 2012; previously, it was known simply as the Clock Tower. When completed in 1859, it was, says clockmaker Ian Westworth, “the prince of timekeepers: the biggest, most accurate four-faced striking and chiming clock in the world.” The tower had its 150th anniversary on 31 May 2009, during which celebratory events took place. The Elizabeth Tower (previously called the Clock Tower), more popularly known as Big Ben, was raised as a part of Charles Barry's design for a new palace, after the old Palace of Westminster was largely destroyed by fire on the night of 16 October 1834. The clock and dials were designed by Augustus Pugin. The clock dials are set in an iron frame 23 feet (7.0 m) in diameter, supporting 312 pieces of opal glass, rather like a stained-glass window. Some of the glass pieces may be removed for inspection of the hands. The surround of the dials is gilded. The clock's movement is famous for its reliability. The designers were the lawyer and amateur horologist Edmund Beckett Denison, and George Airy, the Astronomer Royal. Construction was entrusted to clockmaker Edward John Dent; after his death in 1853 his stepson Frederick Dent completed the work, in 1854. The main bell, officially known as the Great Bell but better known as Big Ben, is the largest bell in the tower and part of the Great Clock of Westminster. Along with the Great Bell, the belfry houses four quarter bells which play the Westminster Quarters on the quarter hours. The origin of the nickname Big Ben is the subject of some debate. The nickname was applied first to the Great Bell; it may have been named after Sir Benjamin Hall, who oversaw the installation of the Great Bell, or after boxing's English heavyweight champion Benjamin Caunt. The Elizabeth Tower and Great Bell have been scheduled for a major renovation which is expected to last three years and is due to begin in early 2017. Essential maintenance will be carried out on the clock mechanism, which will be stopped for several months during which there will be no chimes. Striking and tolling will however be maintained for important events. Big Ben and The Palace of Westminster - VIDEO PREVIEW (London, England)

04:16
A video of Big Ben and The Palace of Westminster! We decided to walk along the River Thames from West London for a few miles and take some photos and videos along the way! Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London and is usually extended to refer to both the clock and the clock tower as well. A British cultural icon, the tower is one of the most prominent symbols of the United Kingdom and is often in the establishing shot of films set in London. The Palace of Westminster is the meeting place of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the two houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Commonly known as the Houses of Parliament after its occupants, it is also known as the "heart of British politics". The Palace lies on the north bank of the River Thames in the City of Westminster, in central London. Its name, which is derived from the neighbouring Westminster Abbey, may refer to either of two structures: the Old Palace, a medieval building complex destroyed by fire in 1834, and its replacement, the New Palace that stands today. The palace is owned by the monarch in right of the Crown and for ceremonial purposes, retains its original status as a royal residence. The building is managed by committees appointed by both houses, which report to the Speaker of the House of Commons and the Lord Speaker. The first royal palace was built on the site in the 11th century, and Westminster was the primary residence of the Kings of England until fire destroyed much of the complex in 1512. After that, it served as the home of the Parliament of England, which had been meeting there since the 13th century, and also as the seat of the Royal Courts of Justice, based in and around Westminster Hall. In 1834, an even greater fire ravaged the heavily rebuilt Houses of Parliament, and the only significant medieval structures to survive were Westminster Hall, the Cloisters of St Stephen's, the Chapel of St Mary Undercroft, and the Jewel Tower. The subsequent competition for the reconstruction of the Palace was won by the architect Charles Barry, whose design was for new buildings in the Gothic Revival style, specifically inspired by the English Perpendicular Gothic style of the 14th–16th centuries. The remains of the Old Palace (with the exception of the detached Jewel Tower) were incorporated into its much larger replacement, which contains over 1,100 rooms organised symmetrically around two series of courtyards and has a floor area of 112,476 m2 (1,210,680 sq ft). Part of the New Palace's area of 3.24 hectares (8 acres) was reclaimed from the Thames, which is the setting of its nearly 300-metre long (980 ft) façade, called the River Front. Barry was assisted by Augustus Pugin, a leading authority on Gothic architecture and style, who designed the interior of the Palace. Construction started in 1840 and lasted for 30 years, suffering great delays and cost overruns, as well as the death of both leading architects; works for the interior decoration continued intermittently well into the 20th century. Major conservation work has been carried out since then to reverse the effects of London's air pollution, and extensive repairs took place after the Second World War, including the reconstruction of the Commons Chamber following its bombing in 1941. The Palace is one of the centres of political life in the United Kingdom; "Westminster" has become a metonym for the UK Parliament, and the Westminster system of government has taken its name after it. The Elizabeth Tower, in particular, which is often referred to by the name of its main bell, Big Ben, is an iconic landmark of London and the United Kingdom in general, one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city, and an emblem of parliamentary democracy. The Palace of Westminster has been a Grade I listed building since 1970 and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. The tower holds the second largest four-faced chiming clock in the world (Minneapolis City Hall being the first).[3] The tower was completed in 1858 and had its 150th anniversary on 31 May 2009,[4] during which celebratory events took place.[5][6] The tower has become one of the most prominent symbols of the United Kingdom and is often in the establishing shot of films set in London. The Elizabeth Tower (previously called the Clock Tower), named in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II in her Diamond Jubilee year,[7] more popularly known as Big Ben,[5] was raised as a part of Charles Barry's design for a new palace, after the old Palace of Westminster was largely destroyed by fire on the night of 16 October 1834.[8][9] The new Parliament was built in a Neo-gothic style. Although Barry was the chief architect of the Palace, he turned to Augustus Pugin for the design of the clock tower, which resembles earlier Pugin designs, including one for Scarisbrick Hall. The design for the tower was Pugin's last design before his final descent into madness and death, and Pugin himself wrote, at the time of Barry's last visit to him to collect the drawings: "I never worked so hard in my life for Mr Barry for tomorrow I render all the designs for finishing his bell tower & it is beautiful."[10] The tower is designed in Pugin's celebrated Gothic Revival style, and is 315 feet (96.0 m) high.[11] Elizabeth Tower and environs, including St Margaret's Church, Parliament Square, Portcullis House, and the London Eye The bottom 200 feet (61.0 m) of the tower's structure consists of brickwork with sand coloured Anston limestone cladding. The remainder of the tower's height is a framed spire of cast iron. The tower is founded on a 50 feet (15.2 m) square raft, made of 10 feet (3.0 m) thick concrete, at a depth of 13 feet (4.0 m) below ground level. The four clock dials are 180 feet (54.9 m) above ground. The interior volume of the tower is 164,200 cubic feet (4,650 cubic metres). Despite being one of the world's most famous tourist attractions, the interior of the tower is not open to overseas visitors, though United Kingdom residents are able to arrange tours (well in advance) through their Member of Parliament.[12] However, the tower has no lift, so those escorted must climb the 334 limestone stairs to the top.[11] Due to changes in ground conditions since construction, the tower leans slightly to the north-west, by roughly 230 millimetres (9.1 in) over 55 m height, giving an inclination of approximately 1/240. This includes a planned maximum of 22 mm increased tilt due to tunnelling for the Jubilee line extension.[13] Due to thermal effects it oscillates annually by a few millimetres east and west. Journalists during Queen Victoria's reign called it St Stephen's Tower. As MPs originally sat at St Stephen's Hall, these journalists referred to anything related to the House of Commons as news from "St. Stephens" (The Palace of Westminster contains a feature called St Stephen's Tower, a smaller tower over the public entrance).[8] The usage persists in Welsh, where the Westminster district, and Parliament by extension, is known as San Steffan. On 2 June 2012, The Daily Telegraph reported that 331 Members of Parliament, including senior members of all three main parties, supported a proposal to change the name from Clock Tower to "Elizabeth Tower" in tribute to the Queen in her Diamond Jubilee year. This is thought to be appropriate because the large west tower now known as Victoria Tower was renamed in tribute to Queen Victoria on her Diamond Jubilee.[14] On 26 June, the House of Commons confirmed that the name change could go ahead.[7] The Prime Minister, David Cameron, announced the change of name on 12 September 2012, at the start of Prime minister's questions.[15] The change was marked by a naming ceremony in which the Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow, unveiled a name plaque attached to the tower on Speaker's Green.[16]

#KOLKATABIGBEN #BIGBENCLOCKTOWER Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London and is usually extended to refer to both the clock and the clock tower. The official name of the tower in which Big Ben is located was originally the Clock Tower, but it was renamed Elizabeth Tower in 2012 to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II. The main bell, officially known as the Great Bell but better known as Big Ben, is the largest bell in the tower and part of the Great Clock of Westminster. KOLKATA BIG BEN: The structure which is a replica of London’s BIG BEN will be known as “Kolkata Times Zone” and you can see the imposing structure right at the juncture of Lake Town and the VIP road. Work on this clock tower has been completed in less than 10 months (which is a super fast speed considering how long it has taken the Paroma island flyover at E.M.Bypass to complete). The height of the structure is 135 ft. from street level with around 80 ft. of concrete piling underneath level zero. The entire structure has an area of 900 square feet and the external grill work is an exact replica of the BIG-BEN exterior. The four giant clocks face the four cardinal directions. Each of these clockfaces has a diameter of 12 ft. each. The mechanical work of the clock has been designed and built by the T.R.Clock Company, one of the oldest horologists of Kolkata. The budget for this project was approximately 10 million INR (1.36 crore to be exact) and it was commissioned by the South Dumdum Municipality. The external structure has been fabricated from a special material called Fibre Reinforced Polymer (F.R.P), which has been casted into hundreds of blocks and then installed with utmost accuracy around the tower to create the Big Ben like facade. The tower has LED lights fit all over it and it lights up in the evening, keeping with the original Big Ben’s light works. The total length of LED wiring runs over tens of kilometres. Minecraft Sonic Unleashed Spagonia Clock and London Big Ben

02:55
Spagonia is thought to be Italy, mixed with Spain. In reality, it is Spain, Italy, and France rolled into one. However there is ONE major structure you cannot ignore. The Spagonia ClockTower. It is a direct parody of Britain's Big Ben. How do I know? The Sonic the Hedgehog Wikia claims so... This had me debating something...the "GameVerse", declared the planet Sonic and company are on is in fact Earth, from a cutscene in Sonic Riders when Dr. Eggman meets Jet the Hawk and he states "Sonic is the fastest thing on Earth", and, save Sonic Unleashed, the make up of the planet looks exactly as you think Earth does. Which got me wondering. Does this mean Britain exist and if so Big Ben exist? As such, which clocktower is the ULTIMATE? The Spagonia ClockTower or Great Britain's Big Ben?(though mind you the clocktower itself is called Elizabeth tower and the bell is Big Ben...though does anyone care when even the British folk refer to the whole tower as Big Ben?) Anyway, you guys decide and have fun with this idea. Meanwhile, to further my insanity I got to thinking of this picture AND what if Big Ben and the Spagonia ClockTower could talk? Like Spagonia's could have General Grievous' voice and Big Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi...ah...anyways. Here you go!

To us these are the sounds of slavery, crucifixions, rape, ethnic cleansing, atrocities, genocide etc., and not any religion of peace. Clock Tower interiors, Jodhpur

02:17
The intriguing mechanical details of the Clock Tower or Ghantaghar at Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India. If one asks me as to which particular sight/location proved to be the most intriguing experience during my recent Jodhpur visit ... it sure was viewing the interior of the Clock Tower - the entire mechanical setup that keeps the massive clock ticking. Yes, for me, it surely was the best experience of my Jodhpur visit, as it was quite the most unexpected - and I may surely not get another chance to see such a sight anywhere else, or any time again in my life ! The Sadar Market in Jodhpur came up in 1910 adjacent to the new mandi during the reign of Raja Sardar Singh. This market was laid in a central-radial pattern - focal point was occupied by the platform where Clock Tower was raised, and the four radial roads emanated from it. The hundred feet tall 'Clock Tower' was erected at a cost of about 3 lac rupees. The Clock as such cost 1 lac, the cost of installation was another lac, and a royalty of 1 lac was paid to M/S Lund & Blokli, London, for the agreement of exclusivity - that is, they were not to duplicate the Clock elsewhere. The top three sections of the Tower house the entire Clock assembly. I can literally go on and on about what all I saw inside the Clock Tower, but those shall all be factual details already mentioned in the huge explanatory board hung out there at the Tower itself. It is indeed a pity that this magnificent place is simply dismissed as The Clock Tower of Jodhpur in most of the online travel reviews - and hardly any details of the intriguing view of this 'clock anatomy' are accorded the significance they deserve. This Clock Tower is as much a part of the history of Jodhpur as Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada and Umaid Bhawan are. Yes, there are innumerable forts and palaces all over Rajasthan, and elsewhere too in India, but, there is just one Clock Tower like THIS in the country ... and one will have to travel all the way to the Big Ben to see something even remotely similar in 'mechanical mystique' of time-keeping in this digital era !!! Visitors in their Jodhpur reviews will do well to dwell upon some heightened perception of what the Clock Tower has really to offer, than to focus on the oft-repeated comments on the filth & squalour in the area around. Oh come on ! The Sadar area of Jodhpur is the place that houses something so enthralling as the mystical web woven by the spell-binding 'Harry Potter' times ... and is not a place that is supposed to reflect the sight and sound of the modern European regions where serenades of romance & matters of metro hygiene need to be dwelt upon ! Quite needless to say, if one has just has a few hours to spend in Jodhpur, my top recommendation would be the Clock Tower and the absolutely quaint and colorful Sadar Market all around. This FIRST, then anything ELSE. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "iOS11 recorded Subway Surfers Peru Update 2017. 60,00,000 points & 40000 coins." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vf0dVazA2bE -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

Big Ben ⏰ Clock Tower ⏰ Big London attraction 🏰

03:26
The Houses of Parliament and Elizabeth Tower, commonly called Big Ben, are among London's most iconic landmarks and must-see London attractions. Technically, Big Ben is the name given to the massive bell inside the clock tower, which weighs more than 13 tons (13,760 kg). The clock tower looks spectacular at night when the four clock faces are illuminated. Big Ben Facts Each dial is seven metres in diameter The minute hands are 4.2 metres long (14ft) and weigh about 100kg (220lbs, including counterweights) The numbers are approximately 60cm (23in) long There are 312 pieces of glass in each clock dial A special light above the clock faces is illuminated when parliament is in session Big Ben's timekeeping is strictly regulated by a stack of coins placed on the huge pendulum. Big Ben has rarely stopped. Even after a bomb destroyed the Commons chamber during the Second World War, the clock tower survived and Big Ben continued to strike the hours. The chimes of Big Ben were first broadcast by the BBC on 31 December 1923, a tradition that continues to this day. The latin words under the clockface read DOMINE SALVAM FAC REGINAM NOSTRAM VICTORIAM PRIMAM, which means "O Lord, keep safe our Queen Victoria the First" In June 2012 the House of Commons announced that the clock tower was to be renamed the Elizabeth Tower in honor of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee. 🎤🎧 SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL: 🎤🎧 The Fun & Travel is a channel where you can watch very nice fun-sexy, travel & other kind videos which we think is good for viewers. Big Ben Across Westminster Bridge at Night - youtube.com/tanvideo11

00:14
http://www.tanmarket.com - Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, and often extended to refer to the clock and the clock tower. The tower is now officially called the Elizabeth Tower, after being renamed (from "Clock Tower") to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The Elizabeth Tower holds the largest four-faced chiming clock in the world and is the third-tallest free-standing clock tower. The tower was completed in 1858 and had its 150th anniversary on 31 May 2009, during which celebratory events took place. The Elizabeth Tower has become one of the most prominent symbols of both London and England and is often in the establishing shot of films set in the city. The Elizabeth Tower (previously called the Clock Tower), named in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II in her Diamond Jubilee year, was raised as a part of Charles Barry's design for a new palace, after the old Palace of Westminster was largely destroyed by fire on the night of 16 October 1834. The new Parliament was built in a Neo-gothic style. Although Barry was the chief architect of the Palace, he turned to Augustus Pugin for the design of the clock tower, which resembles earlier Pugin designs, including one for Scarisbrick Hall. The design for the Elizabeth Tower was Pugin's last design before his final descent into madness and death, and Pugin himself wrote, at the time of Barry's last visit to him to collect the drawings: "I never worked so hard in my life for Mr Barry for tomorrow I render all the designs for finishing his bell tower & it is beautiful."The tower is designed in Pugin's celebrated Gothic Revival style, and is 315 feet (96.0 m) high (roughly 16 storeys). The bottom 200 feet (61.0 m) of Elizabeth Tower's structure consists of brickwork with sand coloured Anston limestone cladding. Source: wikipedia.org https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Ben
