They say hard work is its own reward but a much better reward is an actual reward. Videogames agree, which is why they offer bonuses that are definitely worth the effort it takes to unlock them. Here are seven of our favourites. Enjoy and beware minor spoilers for the following games:
Mario Odyssey / Resident Evil 4 / Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes / Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

I can't believe you guys didn't include Halo 3 Recon helmet after doing all the stupid long vid Master challenges including one from a seperate game. Y'all didn't even try. You could have at least included the Megaman X Hadouken for beating the game 100%. You guys included is super easy stuff that just requires you to play the game. There's no effort at all in these...
How about Bend Will for skyrim? You slay the first dragonborn and your reward? To fly around in a circle killing enemies that have considerably more health instead of any hope of free roam dragon riding.
Skyrim shield block 100% - Slows down time on all strong attacks, from EVERY enemy in the game. Basically giving you matrix slow mo, whenever you're blocking said strong attacks.
Dishonoered 1 - Bone charm; Strong Arms - Faster choking speed. Literally makes 0 chaos runs a breeze.
Mega Man Legends - Helmet, because if there's no helmet, you ain't Mega Man, nigga.
Its too bad MGS5 was a pretty bad game. The gameplay and music was fantastic, and I can even admit I didn't mind Kiefer in the role of "Big Boss", but the story was just so terrible, and the lack of boss fights within the game was mindboggling.
What about Whimsyshire in Diablo III? It was a bit of a pain to get to, but once unlocked, you could go there and destroy all the teddy bears and unicorns and flower-creatures that you could hope for. As well as collecting serious treasure.
The "end of pain" keyblade from completing all of the special link portals in Kingdom hearts Dream Drop Distance. It looks cool and by the time you finish all of the portals, you will have the materials to make the best dream eaters in game.
Honestly, Resident Evil 4 is FULL of fun unlockables. My particular favorite is the Hand Cannon. Grinding through to get 5 stars on all 4 stages of mercenaries with EVERY character is well worth getting the absolute most overpowered weapon in the game(besides the laser cannon)
1.) Brass knuckles in The Evil Within (beat Akumu mode)
2.) Sai-Fung (beat 100 chapters on normal or above) and Climax Brace (collect all Umbran Tears of Blood) in Bayonetta
3.) Rocket launcher in Resident Evil REmake (beat the game in under 3(?) hours)
4.) The final heavy runic attacks in God of War (complete Niflheim and Muspelheim realms)
5.) Armiger Unleashed in Final Fantasy XV (acquire all Royal Arms)
You could unlock Valentine in Bleed 2 by beating Hard mode, and it's very rewarding because Valentine can FLY and if you have good enough reflexes, it's almost impossible to get hit while playing as her since she has a force field.
This may be pretty obscure, but in the Warrior Cats New Prophecy game, you can get something called the Lightning Speed Seed through a post-story subquest. This made you go way faster--normally it would take you about three minutes to get all the way across the territory, but with that speed seed you could get there in SECONDS. This was extremely helpful, as that game has a torturous amount of traveling in it, especially in the many other post-story events.
I didn't realize the GTA Jetpack would be an unlockable, LOL! I did the mission when I got it, I just remember the Jetpack always being available at my airstrip whenever I cared to travel out there to get it. :)
Also, I forget HOW to unlock it, but I remember in God Of War (the first one), the cow outfit. Look completely stupid and ridiculous, (both a bad and a hilarious good thing) while having unlimited magic. I also remember other outfits that gave benefits, I remember one with the weapons being briefcases, maybe Kratos was a businessman? I think I liked the look of that one better, but I liked the benefit of magic better than whatever that one did.
I know Resident Evil 4 is fun and l'll give it that, but one of the finest games of all time? Hardly. I mean, the storyline and dialogue are even goofier than the previous games, if you even imagine that, and it has literally nothing to do with the rest of the series. Leon and Ada are the only things tying it to the other games, and you could easily change them to random nobodies without consequence.
