I think the mechanic at the garage is more of a nod to Part 4. I also believe the shot where he's sitting next to the fish tank is a nod to Part 2 (the surgeon's office). The bathroom stall is a nod to RZ Halloween and Joe Grizzly.
If it's Halloween 2018, shouldn't there be multiple people wearing the Michael Myers costume? And does the movie address all the movies that have been made since 1978 about Michael Myers? Why don't cinematic universes ever address the real world usages of the characters the movie is about? Or have there been movies like this and I just don't know about them?
When michael bumps into those kids , i think it's a reference to halloween 2 when he bumps into a kid with a cowboy costume and a stereo just like the one from the trailer but it could be from the first movie too
Its a bit depressing to think she spent all the years after in the same house preoccupied on his return, would have been nicer for her to have completely moved on only to be out one day with her family and see Michael standing there in the distance in a park or something and have her just drop everything and scream.
They failed to mention all the Easter eggs from the later movies, from the boombox the kid was holding is a reference to h2, the 3 kids running in the street wearing the costumes from h3, the inmates on the road from h1. Or the fact michael has a hole in his mask on the neck and he has permanent damage to his eye from h1.All they did was point out the obvious. Come on, we are fans, we look deeper than just what is plainly obvious.
They take so much from all the Halloween movies. First there's like 3-4 different masks I've seen used. Michael flips the knife in the same way he does in H2O. Believe me it's badass and was done so on purpose. Also a scene I've seen where he quickly grabs a girl trying to get away and then slams the door as was done in both of Zombies remakes. I can guarantee he will be seen lowering himself with one hand somewhere in the Movie like in H20 and ressurection. It was badass and a fan favorite.
Contrary to what this vid proposed, the bumping into the kids scene is a callback to H2, not H1, which also incudes the same sound FX and music from H2. Also, the little kid is dressed as a cowboy for Halloween with a radio, in homage to the fact that in H2 it was a cowboy carrying a boombox that Michael bumped into on route to the hospital.
It would be impossible for them to make him invincible. He was stabbed through the neck, in the eye and in the chest/ stomach region. As well as being shot six times. Micheal Myers can’t die, and if he can in this movie that’s kind of bs...
The German Shepherd barking as the investigator pulls out the mask is interesting too - I wonder if this is a nod to the moment Michael kills Lester in the original movie - as if even the dog senses the evil. I still remember how spooked I was as a kid seeing that scene.
Theory, there are 2 Michaels, the one in the gas station looks to be in his 30's and the other is in his 60's and can be shown without his mask in prison. I believe one is a fan of Michael Myers while the other is the real one. The ending may have Laurie kill the imposter and it ends with heavy breathing of the real Michael showing him standing somewhere else.
Umm Linda was not a babysitter at all in the original film, let alone "an inattentive" one as you suggested. Annie was Lindsey Wallace's babysitter. Linda just came over there to sleep with her boyfriend.
Donald Pleasance played that role so well, it wasn't that he was a convincing psychiatrist, he played it like a man who had seen true evil and looked it in the eye and a man who had become attached to it, whether he liked it or not
Michael has been supernatural since the original pple that go oh no he wasnt he is trust me ive seen the film cuz when laurie runs out down to tommys house michael isnt behind her where is he? Michael disapeared alot in the first film and reappears again then he was stabbed in the neck with a knitting needle, poked in the eye with wire hanger, Then stabbed in the chest with the butcher knife, Then lastley he was shot six times in the chest aka heart and falls from a balcony. Tell me how he was able to get up and walk away and disappear that quick without getting noticed? He wasnt wearing a bullet proof vest so we know he shouldnt of gotten up without being noticed he was shot in the chest 6 times theres legit no way he was able to get up as if he wasnt hit when he was he shouldve died he is supernatural
Im guessing Of they Starting the timeline over completely an disregarding EVERY halloween that happened from 1978 To 2009 < a complete Decade of halloween movies, Maybe Their Disregarding that to completely start over an make a new Segment of halloween movies that are actually told as sequels to each other.. which would be off a little Since of all those other halloween movies In past generation but would still be Legendary to pull off👌 Hope this is not another Hollywood Trashterpiece halloween is Literally a living legend in the movie industry they cannot mess this up❗️
If i was being hunted by Michael Myers then i know exactly what man i would call to protect me...
I would call the man who you hire to kill the Boogeyman... The same man who killed three men in a bar with a pencil...
I would call John Wick.
it ignores all the other Halloween movies it's a direct sequel to The First One made in 1978 it takes place 40 years later and they tried to make it seem like him and Laurie Strode was related in the original series they took that away with this one and I like that he's not her brother he's just a crazy man trying to kill her and I like how she's been preparing for his return over the last 40 years so yes Halloween 2 Halloween 4 Halloween 5 Halloween 6 Halloween H2O Halloween resurrection all those don't exist in this timeline
H20 ruined this franchise. rob zombie destroyed it. This new film will bury it.
And why does he hate his sister so much. It only makes sense with the thorn curse. in fact the curse is the only thing that ever made sense. and if he only killed 3 people according to this film then he is not a big deal!
The only thing worrying me about this movie now is that Michael could be just...Human! That iconic line that you can't kill the Boogeyman from the first movie is classic. It makes you think he can't be stopped. Then he gets stabbed a couple of times by Laurie and shot by Loomis and you think oh he's just a guy....but then he's gone. The Boogeyman he is.
But now they're saying he was captured that night. If you can't kill the Boogeyman you certainly can't handcuff him and take him to a secure compound for 40 years!!
I want Michael to be the Boogeyman again. So this movie is either to recapture that supernatural element of Michael's or is here to end him once and for all. And I'm worried about the latter.
He's already taken 6 slugs, multiple stab wounds, and a swan dive off a terrace. I'd say he's exceeded the qualifications for "Boogeyman" status lol. He probably got himself captured just to clean and dress his injuries while rehabbing.
I really enjoyed Rob Zombies versions. I like that he incorporated his aesthetic in it. He made it much cooler with his rockstar horror influence than the previous ones. It was definitely more gory. The score, the costume design, characters were all amazing! But I can’t turn my back to John Carpenters version. It’s such a horror classic and makes you appreciate Michaels character more. They way he moved, killed and even though he doesn’t talk you can still read him. It’s bittersweet tbh. I can’t wait for October 19th!
