Of all of the Nintendo Switch launch titles, I am most excited for Super Bomberman R.

It's an old video but whatever... I haven't played Bomberman on the Switch yet (I'm considering the purchase as it's on sale at the moment). I LOVE the game though. I grew up playing bomberman with my brothers. I also introduced the game to my little cousins (That freaking game gave me the "best babysitter" rank Lol).
and hands power up also different.. you can only pick bombs and throw... old time you can pick a bomberman and throw them to hole or dead zone... and you can punch push a person too instead just the bombs... whyyy now we lack things like that?
Bomberman lacks of the fun as the old bomberman 1-5 had.. PETS!!!! SPECIAL ABILITY CHARACTER! NOT THE BOMBS BUT WITHIN THEM!! I SAW SOME SPECIAL CHARACTERS BUT THE DIFFERENCE IS JUST THE BOMBS.. OH COME ON.. IN OLD BOMBERMAN WE CAN ALL HAVE THAT WITH POWER UPS... SO PLEASEEE RETURN THAT... SPECIAL CHARACTER MORE POWER UPS.. AND PETS!!!!
As far as i can tell it's just the VS mode with tacked on story? Seems way to expensive, no matter how much one enjoys the Bomberman series. I wish it had been more like Bomberman 64, and then had what this game supposedly is as the VS mode. Meanwhile, WiiU got Bomberman 64 now, so guess there is still some life left in that console afterall! :)
Are you seeing or hearing that the dock is scratching the screen. It's also being said that skins are also damaging the switch. DBrand is being rumored to canceling their preorders and refunding their customers. Help me out Bro. I want the Switch and want my experience to be great. Can you do a Does an Don'ts video. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Seriously try fast RMX its by far one of the strronger launch titles up there with zelda but something you can play with friends along with bomberman! Its a mash up of f-zero (yes even tube like tracks) and guitar hero ! Look it up its awesome
Bomberman on the SNES was the first video game I ever played when I was just 5 years old (28 now). That day I fell in love with video games. I even got a Bomberman tattoo because of that :)
You see these 2000 kids that dont even know what it is saying it looks like a crappy tablet game then proceeding to buy 1-2 Switch.... FOOLS!
It's pronounced KO-nami. Ko as in rhymes with go and blow and show. Not Kunami/Coo-nami, as you repeatedly say it.
As for Bomberman, I got the Super Bomberman Party Pak for my 8th birthday. I didn't know anything about the game, really. I didn't even want the game, but I had asked for it because of the multitap. I wanted it for the upcoming release of Secret of Mana (which was just a couple months away) so I could play three player. Surprise was that it became one of my all time favorite games. My family played four player Super Bomberman every weekend for the next four years. I've been a huge fan of the series since and it's shocking to me that every article online says that Zelda is the only worthwhile launch title. I wasn't even going to get Zelda. Just need Bomberman and Snipperclips!
The Wulff Den You know, I actually thought you might be unaware. I'm not trying to impress you or anyone with my "knowledge". It's just the name of a games company. I wouldn't even have said anything, but YouTubers today are a huge influence on gaming media. You guys are the journalists of today, which is evident by how many review units Nintendo sent out to YouTubers. I certainly wasn't trying to bruise your ego.
I'd think it was obvious that I actually had a reason to post as well as I left a lengthy message about the topic, Bomberman, because it's something I really enjoy.
I love bomberman. first I every played was on turbo graphics 16 at a friend's house. wish surprisingly it was like over 10 years after it came out. my best friend and I are Hugh fans and have had so fun with the series. the latest version I have is on the PS3 and my niece and nephew (they're around 10 years old now, I'm in my mid 30's) love it as well. I'm so excited for this release.
I've been going back and forth on Bomberman. I really loved the 64 games, especially the multiplayer when I had friends to play with. Problem is, I don't really have all that many friends to play with these days and I'm not sure if the single player alone is going to be worth $50.
Hey Bob, thanks for the video; this is a really good explanation of why Bomberman R for the Switch is such a big deal. I remember in one of your earlier videos you talked about how Bomberman R is your most hype game for the Switch launch, but I didn't understand your perspective outside of the nostalgic appeal.
Believe it or not, your commentary has changed my opinion on this title and I may be picking it up now in addition to Zelda.
Keep up the videos buddy, your channel is one of my favorite subscriptions.
I'm not familiar with the Bomberman series. but I did play Bomberman pocket for GBA.. and beat it but that's just platforming compared to top down arena gameplay. I hope I'm in for a treat l pre ordered it on Amazon just in time. its sold out
My favorite Bomberman games are definitely Bomberman Tournament (GBA) and Bomberman '93 (TurboGrafx-16). I have very fond memories of playing multiplayer for hours with friends on both these games. It was cool that even with the Virtual Console version of Bomberman '93, you were able to play 5-players by using a Gamecube controller along with 4 Wiimotes.
I'm disappointed. NO TRIGGER POWER UP. NO LINE BOMB POWER UP.
I mean... some of us just get to that level where we play like the devil is controlling the joy con... Just bombs and flames are just too much 33 years ago.
*FUN FACT:* _Mega Bomberman_ is so-called because it was made for the *Sega Mega Drive.* (Just as Super Bomberman was given _its_ namesake because it was made for the Super Famicom/Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).) It retained the name, "Mega Bomberman", for its North American release on the Sega Genesis. (Which, in essence, is still Mega Drive.)
I'm definitely picking up the new Bomberman game. My first Bomberman (surprisingly) was on GameBoy, but this video even makes me want to get some of those classic SNES games. Hmmm. Hey btw how long you gonna be in SF? I'm down in Monterey and go to SF often. :)
Bomberman R is the launch title I'm picking up DAY 1 with my Switch!! Mainly because I'm vetting a Switch for its multiplayer capabilities so I need something good to play with a friend. And also because I've really enjoyed a few if the Bomberman titles over the years. I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan but I know just how fun the games can be!
My first Bomberman was Bomberman Max for the GBC. It was really fun and I played that game for hours. I also gambled with friends for their Charabombs (cuz that was a feature). I'm looking forward to this game.
I had the first Super Nintendo Bomber Man game that came along w. The 4 player adapter piece. It was great to tell my friends to bring over their controllers and we had a blast playing against each other in this classic title. I cannot wait to pick up my preorder from GameStop this Friday!
I never owned any game sytems as a kid, but I had so much fun playing bomberman with my friends on the pc as a flash game. I'm not looking forward to the game as much as you, but it does look like a lot of fun, so I'll probably get it when the price has been knocked down a bit.
good video and quality. one of the underrated youtube content creators. i am cautiously optimistic for bomberman due to the existence of it being buried in Zelda but the intro video that was released was so corny its great
Man, It's nice to find another person who understands the glory of Bomberman. There was actually a decent gamecube bomberman game that was a lot like the Bomberman 64 games, but the multiplayer was straight up super bomberman style. That was pretty great.
Yeah, we mostly played multiplayer. We loved the item customization options and how it allowed us to pick and choose which items appear and how frequently. We could have fair matches or completely broken ones if we wanted. Honestly, I'm kinda bummed that those options aren't in Super R.
KirbyPhelpsPK Good to hear you and your friends love Generations. Now don't get me wrong, I don't hate Generations and Jetters. What I mean to say is that I personally enjoyed both of those games on the Gamecube, despite their flaws.
I'm not bothered by the graphics in those games and I'm not bothered by the single player campaign for both games, at all. I just wing it and enjoy it for what it was. Sure the multiplayer mode will always be the real deal for most Bomberman fans but I can't help but have fun playing single player to even care.
Mah-Dry-Bread - Gameplay & Streams! There were actually two Bomberman games released for the Gamecube, if I recall. They were Bomberman Generation and Bomberman Jetters. Not many people are fans of those games but I personally didn't mind, especially when it came to the single player campaigns but that's just me. I'm so in the minority.
Bomberman 64: The Second Attack can be really pricey and hard to find these days. Bomberman 64 should still be fun and worth playing, even for today's standards. As for Bomberman Hero, there is no multiplayer and that's a shame because that's what makes Bomberman so special and so much fun to begin with. That game doesn't get enough love considering it is a single player only game from start to finish.
