Improving the image quality of past games is fine for people who missed out on those games the first time round or people who would like to revist games they enjoyed, but what Xbox One X needs to save it are exclusives.
I just an xbox 1 x.
I must say the 4k gaming is honestly meh...
It is true there is a difference on the games that are compatible with 4k however is the difference worth $590 for a 4k gaming mointer?
I feel the answer is no.
Sorry guys :(

Purchased the Xbox One X recently. Only games that impress me so far are Recore and Sunset Overdrive. Seems like these titles were put out back when Microsoft cared about exclusive single player games. Now if they'll just let me play games I don't want to download update on without taking console offline, installs not take 4 times as long to install as PS4 (from physical disk), and get rid of Windows 10 (that won't ever happen). Waiting for Fallout 4 update to download to see if it is any better resolution wise than PS4 Pro (I have 2 4K TV's). I have FO4 on PC but anytime I load just a few mods it always becomes so unstable I can't play it. Also not impressed with BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY. Honestly why do people even praise this? Only 14 out of my 35 Xbox 360 games are backwards compatible and those aren't even any of the good ones except for RDR and RDR Undead Nightmare.
Ghost Recon Wildlands, average game. Looks better? Doesn’t change the gameplay.
Not played Wolfie
Not played Injustice
NFS? Less said the better, not played it but how many reviews can be wrong?
Not played Mafia 3 but again reviews are mixed.
Never played, or wanted to play Mirrors Edge. 4k resolution won’t change that.
I’m playing SW Battlefront 2 (for my sins) on the ps4 pro. It looks stunning enough.
Skate 3, again doesn’t interest me, even in 4k.
Never played, or wanted to play Skyrim. Even the PSVR version hasn’t tempted me enough to buy it.
I tend not to buy indie games.
Never played or wanted to play Fallout 4. Once again a 4k resolution won’t change that.
Never played or wanted to play Fortnight. Guess what? I’m not going to buy it just to play it in 4k.
Your personal picks have done nothing to make me consider upgrading my Xbox One S to an X.
Sure as hell isn't the "Jaguar" Cores that bring the 4k resolution. As you get higher up the resolution less and less burden is on the CPU and most of the burden is put on the video card. You can thank AMDs custom polaris chip for your 4k. The main reason for keeping Jaguar cores is because of being easily compatible with prior Xbox One, just like the PS4 and PS4 Pro. Jaguar cores in the PC world would be so far down the totem pole that they wouldn't even be on benchmarks for bottom of the barrel CPUs.
Edit: Yes, I do know that it is an "APU".
I really like my X and there are differences over Pro on some multi plats. Not all games showcase much of a difference and its definitely not worth the asking price as I've yet to see the X better Uncharted 4,Zero Dawn or GT Sport technically. You know why?. PS4 has exclusives and these push hardware. X suffers on exclusives compared to Sony and that's a real pain as I would love to see more Xbox exclusives that push the X. My gaming preference is single player campaigns. This is why my opinion is what it is. The X though is a great system... no doubt . Own both Pro and X and you will have ultimate gaming. A decent 4K HDR set.. over 50" and its gaming heaven.
Fallout 4 does not run at 30ps on the xbox one x, not constantly at least. Lots of Downtown Boston areas dip way below 30fps. Sure, some areas do run at 30fps and it looks gorgeous. To say even the most stressed areas are locked at 30fps is utterly false.
Ganes like god of war, Spider-Man, days gone, death stranding Detroit last of us uncharted ghost of Tushinma are way better than Xbox one x exulsivses and so games are better on ps4 and we on ps4 play consoles for games that’s the reason there consoles the reason there made and I had Xbox but I traded it for ps4 because frankly Xbox isnt for games it’s a poor attempt to find something it can sell to consumers like bfor it was a all round device ppl hated it and the og ps4 raped it now they found that doesn’t work so they push it as the worlds most powerful console which it damm well is but that’s not enough to sell u have to have a good games library and Xbox doesn’t like who cares about some little improvements to graphics I play my standard ps4 on a curved 4K 65 inch tv and games like ax origins shadow of war bf2 ww2 look amazing so idont care bou if xboxnlooks a little better it’s about games and graphics matter a bit but not when it’s not a big enough difference like wit the x also ps4 is used to all its power wit its exclusives like Spider-Man god of war that they were shown in 2016 on standard ps; then in 2017 on the pro and in both cases there gameplay looks better visually then gears of war and halo on the x because power doesn’t matter how much the first party devolpers who use the most of the x on licrsosoft or the PS4 on Sony makes the games look good how much they use of their consoles makes them look good and Sony’s first party devolpers make ps4 games looks better than the Xbox one x first party games
Yeah, calling that CPU advanced it is such a big fish story it physically hurts.
The freakin' FX Chips (which are hilariously bad for modern gaming in and of themselves now) even blow Jaguar away in both out of the box clock speed and IPC, while even slightly older Intel like Skylake tears it apart in single core and quad-core (and likely eight-core because even eight-core FX-8xxx chips can't keep up with a quad core Skylake)
sorry i didnt want to comment but: rocksolid 30fps in most areas and most of the time? this means whenever the f it wants. 4k is whenever the f it wants, too. i would slap my pc left and right if it would start to act like this.
Should i upgrade from an original ps4? My best friend plays on Xbox and i have many friends on PS4. Note that i don't have a 4K tv, which ruins the whole idea of the X. I really want to play new games that have stunning graphics. Plz help
I also have no 4k tv but men i really looks good on my 1080p tv. Buy a X and you don regret it. Tomb raider looks amazing and also forntite is a upgrade when i compare it with the ps4 version. I don't have a ps4 pro but a slim. I like to play pubg that's the version only on Xbox one X.
Nekroido I forgot to mention that if i buy the X there's a big chance I'm gonna be keeping my original ps4. And Yes there aren't many good exclusives on Xbox but I'm planning to get it on my birthday in February. I'm also debating whether i should get a new phone or not. Anyways, thanks for the suggestion bro!
It really depends on the value you are going to put into a console. Are you pursuing exclusives or totally fine with multiplatform games? How much have you already invested into a platform? How much are you willing to invest? Are you going to play more with PSN or your XBL friends? These are the questions I usually ask myself before getting a new console.
I've bought Xbox One X just yesterday and Wolfenstein II looks super smooth and crisp on my old 1080p120Hz monitor. I was just "WOW". Subnautica is really buggy and unoptimized now, yet it runs and looks great too (compared to Xbox One S). I'm eager to see how other games perform, but they're still copying over. :D So, yeah, you don't need a 4K panel to enjoy the additional power.
ARK had an amazing patch too. Render distance is increased and all textures bumped. Also the skies are now breathtaking. More color with moving clouds and the starry night sky with an updated moon is an amazing sight.
