Does anyone remember that moment on the third level of LEGO Marvel Superheroes? You know, that moment where the lights go out, several times, and then Venom gets in the camera. Seriously, that made my heart skip the first time. Not so much afterwards, because I knew it was coming.
Watching this video until the end, Spider Man (2000) Monster Ock chase, I was 12 or 13 at that time, thinking this isn't scary at all, it was fun and cool. But then reading alot of people's comments over here, it was terrifying for everyone else. That explains why my younger brothers would get me to play level. Like wow.
Almost all of Dk 64 was terrifying with the barren overworlds being only inhabited by enemies making odd sounds. Then add the how poorly lit some areas are and the tone of music and you get a ball of childhood trauma
i know Batman Arkham Asylum is not a game for kids but i played it when i was 11 years old and the Scarecrow morgue sequence gave me nightmares for years lol. also, the sewer Killer Croc's Chase was unbearable, i remember sweating my ass to this chapter
i think you should've put that eel from the underwater board in Super Mario 64. That one used to catch me off guard all the time.
That and the Zombies in the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. That scream annoyed and scared me when young link couldn't move and he's slowly walking towards you trying to jump on your back and bite you or whatever it is that it does xD
Wtf, River Twygz. I'm already a creepy person, but a song that plays the music of my sanity breaking... Is that really appropriate for a rated E game? Lol I just hope not to many kids had nightmares seeing those underworld hands and hearing the voices of the damned.
Is it weird that I was afraid of Spider Man instead of Monster Ock? I would finish the game again just to get to that part and hear his screams, but I used to cry every time I looked at Spider Man's mask. It was terrifying for me...
