I have a list of the best horror games. I hope this list helps you. (2017-2018)
1. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
2. Bendy and the Ink Machine
3. Outlast 2
4. The Evil Within 2
5. Deadly Curse
6. Until Dawn
7. Little Nightmares
8. Friday the 13th: The Game
10. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
...most of these as other have said aren't even "horror" games. Fuck sake, like I really want a new horror game, but NONE save for RE2 are even catching my eye anymore. I used to love playing scary games and now they are laughable.
Did they change the genre "Horror"? Cause I mean, Stalker? It's just a fps like any other. The Walking Dead? It's a drama heavy game with no horror at all. I think for a game to be on this list it needs to have zombies and that's it.
Finished outlast 2 today. I thought it was decent the graphics and atmosphere were very good but the run and hide game-play got very repetitive IMO and as a result when I would hear the tense chase music the scare factor wore off and it got to the point that I didn't care if I was caught as the checkpoint placement was very generous. Not sure which I prefer between OL 1 and 2. Enjoyed resi 7 a lot more personally though I have issues with that game too. My 3 favorite horrors of all time are resi remake on gamecube, Silent hill 2 and......hmmm maybe resi 2. :) I find these games balanced scare factor and fun engaging gameplay nicely while other horrors are scarier but not nearly as enjoyable or replayable.
I like how almost 85 % of the games on this list are stupid shooters and survivals with almost no lore at all
Batim hello neighbor? Really these have better stories than half of these
But oh well looks like people like stupid shooter horror games more (no offense to some games here like layers of fear and dying light is ok and a few more ( fnaf and little nightmare of course) but i mean really)
its more of a thriller than a horror game, in horror you take time to process things and realize the horror, in LFD2 you are running around seeking thrills, ive never felt horror like i do when i play games like resident evil where you are tested in your resourcefulness as apposed to pick up gun and shoot everything.
You showed us 25 different horror games
none of them is Welcome to the game or Welcome to the game 2 and they're way better than fnaf cuz in fnaf you just sit and make sure the animatronics won't get you but in welcome to the game is that feeling that you can get killed EVERY single second when you're not expecting to and you're paying attention to the computer. The are also rumors that in wttg everything you say can be heard by the game and probably affect what's happening and what's going to happen in the game
oniizu yeah i respect your opinion too not everyone has to like fnaf and thats ok i personally like it but that does not mean that everyone else should
Also i said baldi since when we are talking about stories and lore baldis one is a big joke on purpose but yeah it was a really bad arguement sorry
But what i wanna say is that not everyone that likes fnaf is necesserally a kod ya know that doesnt have nothing to do with someones age so that why i got mad
I kinda used to know like A LOT about it when i was younger, since i was a big part of the fandom (still have some plushies, oof) but i guess since ive grown and played other horror games i just dont care for it anymore. i respect your liking for it though
Guy? im a female lol. i played baldi's basics because it was a new stupid game i wanted to try, so i streamed it. No clue what that has to do with this agrument or why you even checked out my channel, but ok. I dont care enough about fnaf to even look into it, i just dont like it, even though i used to in like 7th grade.
oniizu try figuring out the lore for yourself then reply
Also it has been milked i admit that but it was done really well where other developers would fuck everything up
Also the cliche story was brought to a bigger scene in horror games after fnaf those are all of the ripoffs and nonripoffs who somehow also had a similar story so back when it was released it was pretty original
Edit : Also says the guy who has a video about playing baldi in 2 am so yeah
There is nothing scary at all in Left 4 Dead 2. The game was never meant to be scary also. However, Dying Light is a totally different story, it is a survival/horror game. The Night Hunter is creepy and the Volatiles are scary as hell.
Killing Floor 2 is not a Horror game! It's a First person action shooter with zombies and monsters. Might as well put Doom, Prey and State of Decay there with that mentality. Also Telltale TWD, really? F.E.A.R. is scarier than Amnesia? WTF?! Left 4 Dead 2 is the scariest game of all time?... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!..
its good right? i really liked the panic feel. also resident evil 6 (after getting by the BS start and the ignoring the stupid forced cut scene dialogue) is actually a really good horror game. i know its not real resident evil but its actually really good. should have made it longer and cut out all the dlc crap. oh, and made a better ending and end boss 'situation'
