AD INFINITUM - Official Gameplay Trailer (World War I Horror Game) 2017
Ad Infinitum is an atmospheric single-player horror game, which puts you into a World War I setting experienced in a first-person perspective. You find yourself in the trenches of a forlorn battlefield where vicious creatures lurk in the shadows. Solve challenging puzzles to clear pathways and avoid deadly traps and sneak through a maze of trenches to hide from the manifested horrors of war. The surrealistic gameworld is based upon historical background information that is mixed with some fictional elements which all culminates in a subtle yet intense story.

I think its based off of the stories soldiers had during ww1 cause of there ptsd and how this is what they saw and the monsters are from the stories and you have to survive ot and each monster has a different way of torturing you and you can use that to ur advantage
Guns or no guns, I am excited for this. Just seeing that first moment of the trailer, I had wide eyes and was pale. It looks like it will be an amazing game. I know Outlast gets old, and fighting Supernatural beings isn’t realistic, but both are exciting to me. I just hope I’m not expecting too much out of this game
2K Savage the reason it's based on a ww1 setting is because ww1 was already terrifying enough so they want to mix the horrors of war with supernatural horror to signify that even during the artillery strikes you aren't alone.Even though ww1 games are usually war games it's still pretty accurate without the cod running and gunning. This game will hopefully show and open people's eyes to the horrors that this game has to offer without adding the constant gunfire that most WAR games have to offer
People need to stop bitching, this is pre alpha gameplay, we do not know it's story, we do not know the main mechanics of this game, this is pretty much a cinematic trailer to let's us know that this is a project in the works. Don't compare the creature to slender because we don't know it's origin. Then again the steam page for this game says that the green light for it has retired or something but I hope we do get this game eventually, I like the idea of a WW1 horror game where you have to survive in the trenches from some unknown creature. Thats a terrifying concept
Langhope To be fair, most survival horror games aren’t set in a war zone. It’s the one place having a weapon is both expected and required. Besides, the main character is holding a rifle at 2:13-2:19. I just hope the game isn’t overly reliant on them.
CommanderNeutralGray ok, those i cant argue with, those psychos are some of the typed you should absolutely be able to struggle against
Its not like they have overwhelming strength or size
So you're right their
boomerpro87 Yeah he's what I meant by certain things you couldn't fight against. That and the twins. But all the psycho chase sequences? I should be able to shove at the very least, if I need to, you know?
CommanderNeutralGray considering these cosmic horrors would instantly rip you apart the very NANO SECOND their hand touches you, i doubt you can "struggle" against that
Human's self preservations instincts only really kick in when theirs still a chance of survival, if knew they were going to die no matter how hard they struggle, they wouldnt bother, their brain is too busy processing the hoplessness of the situation to think of fighting back, its like a deer in headlights, they know they're going to fucking die and they're too petrified in fear to do anything
boomerpro87 Yeah, no shit? I'm not saying you should be able to kill horror entities if you were paying attention. I'm saying you would TRY to fight back, though. That's instinct. Believe it or not, humans typically don't lie down and just choose death when they still have breath in them. Sapping you of your ability to even struggle is a cheap gimmick. This game looks good but I'm tired of games that create artificial stakes by taking away your ability to even try and defend yourself. Look at Outlast 1 and 2. There are totally things in those games you wouldn't be able to win against. But for the most part it's just desperate psychotics. There's no reason your character shouldn't be able to at least push to defend himself when cornered.
During the Great War, in some battles you and your regiment had to push forward into the enemy trenches at a moments notice. You left behind the dead, the severely wounded and dieing.
This could be a case of a solider left behind, his weapon confiscated because they thought he was dead, the rest of the supplies and weaponry brought along for the next attack. As for the monster, it's most likely psychological pain manifesting itself into a creature, but there were also a plethora of German, Russian, and British urban legends and folk tails of creatures during the war.
Ay finally someone who's looking at the game in an objective way! It very well could be an urban legend! And the name "Ad Infinitum" is Latin for "On and On" or Forevermore, probably could elude to PTSD/ Having memories that won't leave your mind even after the war.
As a veteran of the great war I say that no guns on the battle field in France is a big goddamn lie I killed those french Bastards with my MP18 storm and my trench club so there should at least be trench clubs right? NEIN?! WELL WHAT IS THERE SHWEINHUND?! SHISERCOFF you french never liked guns because they kill people guns don't kill people Germans with guns do
lmao everyone complaining about no guns in this gameplay, there will be guns, and even if there weren't any, this is still trying to be a horror game. I'm very interested in the story, what might be going on
I know right, like Jesus there's only been one trailer for the game and people are basically saying what the game is and what it is trying to tell without any other information to back up their claims. The only thing that everyone can agree on is the title "Ad Infinitum" means "Forevermore" or "Infinity"/On-and-On in Latin.
