There are not many senior citizens in the world of gaming. But the guys on this list prove that being a badass doesn't always have to be a young man's game. Put your rocking chair in a comfortable position and get ready for the top 5 old dudes!
5. Sam Fisher - Splinter Cell: Conviction
It took five Splinter Cell titles to turn Sam Fisher into an old badass and there’s no turning back now. Sam Fisher has never been a more interesting character than in Splinter Cell: Conviction. His daughter is dead, he’s extremely pissed, and it’s time to see if he can get his revenge on everyone whose wronged him. We bet on him succeeding.
4. Max Payne - Max Payne 3
Max Payne is also no stranger to misery in Max Payne 3. The years of drinking and popping pills have made him more world-weary and cynical than ever before. But he can still pump rounds into paramilitary faces and that's really all that matters . Besides this older version of Max delivers every line with the just the right amount of self loathing.
3. Joel - The Last of Us
Without going into spoilers it's safe to say that Joel has also seen his fair share of sadness in The Last of Us. Boy does it suck to grow old in gaming… Anyway, he has become a ruthless grizzled man in his late forties that will do anything to protect young Ellie in a world full of fungal zombies. He's the ass kicking father figure we all wish we had.
2. Ezio Auditore da Firenze - Assassin's Creed: Revelations
Ezio is the first old guy on this list that's actually happy. Like a renaissance George Clooney the years have made him even more charming to the ladies in Assassin's Creed: Revelations. And after three games, this aging assassin has nothing left to prove as he gets stuff done and still gets the girl in the end. Ezio might be old but he's still our favourite assassin in the entire series.
1. Old Snake - Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
It wasn‘t until Metal Gear Solid 4 that Solid Snake’s glorious mullet turned gray and he grew a moustache that would make even Burt Reynold’s jealous. But MGS 4 was also when Solid Snake matured into being the ultimate badass. Old Snake goes through some unbelievable abuse trying to save the world with his rapidly aging body failing him all the time. But he never ever complains about it and that alone makes him our number one old dude in gaming.

So, you have in the title "Old dudes in gaming" and then as the opener to this video, you say the words "There are not many Senior Citizens in the world of gaming." But then the list proceeds to list out 5-2 of middle aged men from say 30s-60's. Now, when you say "senior citizen" I'm thinking 61+, you know, old men with grey hair but still being a cool role in the game. You showed many OLD DUDES in that intro, but the only one to even actually count to the list is "OLD SNAKE" at number 1. I was expecting to see Old Snake on this list for sure. He's kind of a safe pass on the list as well, for he's technically not old, but just that the nanomachines in his body aged him a lot, so now he's basically old. So that's fine and all. But seriously, you show someone like THE END in your intro, and didn't start listing out some OLD DUDES in gaming? I think you need to know how to make a list and understand what you're even talking about, because 5-2 were clearly all middle-aged men.
100% support the number 1 pick. Old Snake is the very deffenition of a bad ass old dude. Hes got the body of a 70+ years old man... Hes kinda slowly dying trough the game. Tough he ends up living. Yes, i just spoiled that and feel no shame in doing so. The game is old now. Anyways... Trough out MGS4 Solid Snake proves that he earned the tittle as the best soldier ever. You could argue Big Boss is better... And yes that would kinda be true. But in the end Solid Snake was able to beat Big Boss with a Hair spray and a lighter. Solid Snake became the best soldier who had ever lived. I'd even go as far as to say Snake in hes younger years could have beat Raiden in hes prime as a Cyborg Ninja. Gray Fox is THE ultimate Cyborg od the series. And Snake beat him in a fight that was unfare for Snake. We all love Raiden in MGS4. But i'll stick to to my beliefe that Gray Fox was the better one. Old Snake... The best Old dude in Gaming. Would personally put Joel from The Last of Us in Second... Max Payne in Tird and Ezio in fourth. So atleast my top 4 picks where all on this list. Kinda cool! Max Payne.. Every gamers favorite Goth! He may not dress like a Goth, but hes a Goth trough and trough. No hes not a Emo. People tend tp mix being Emo with being Goth. Goth are those really depressing types dressed in Black.
Emo's can actually be very fun to hang with since they tend to be as joyful as the rest of Us. Only thing is they got a unique style. Stripes and a unique makeup style. They stick out and aren't afraid to show who they are. My respect to the Emo kind! And Ezio... Edward won me over in Black Flag. He was a great Character. Unlike hes grandson. Connor in ACIII is one of the most boring dull and actually BAD characters in videogame history. Hes one of 2 things... 1, hes cold and boring. Bot a hint of personality in him. But 2, when he first does show some personality hes a whiny little bitch that you kinda just want to skap in the face and tell ''Shut tha fuck up Bitch!''.xD Edward was great fun. But Ezio will forever remain the best Assassin! Hes journey was the best, hes character was the most interesting. Tough he got 3 games to tell hes story in... Kinda cheating. But still, hes the best one. Haven't gotten far in Unity... Mostly because the game was a buggy mess on release... But as far as iæve gotten Arno seems pretty generic. There's a personality in there. But i feel like i'm watching a old British stage drama... He looks like hes acting in a play and not beeing a character.
None of these guys are that old for a human aside from Snake... Maybe they are old relative to young adults and kids, but not overall. It's dumb to put them here.
Also, WTF is with the terrible frame rate in some of these games (like splinter cell)? YouTube videos are only 30 FPS, and _still_ you can notice the terrible frame rate shown in this. Is that what you console peons put up with?
Wow, way to show your annoying side. Just so you know, the "master race" also looks the same, Conviction was just badly made. But way to go, using one bad game to call out all consoles while trying to act superior.
