I'm not impressed with Nintendo at the moment. I'm way more in to the ps VITA at this point. It was way ahead of its time and I think better in many more ways than the switch! There is to much utter garbage out on the switch!
CrazyDopetastic by the way just wanted to mention I never had a ps3, mine got the yello light of death early on in its life. So I really never new the diffrence between the vita ps 2 and 3. Its the only way now I can play playstion games. It works for me.
Just still upset that the people thought the vita was a glorified cell phone in the days YOU said that apps were becoming popular.
Just bad trimming.
Sony didn’t put enough money into creating truly unique first party games on Vita. Whereas with the 3DS you got games specifically made for that console, you didn’t get that nearly as much with Vita for major games.
You can’t have a home and portable console and expect folk will buy the same games for both. In most cases that won’t happen. This is why 3DS has exclusives that were unique and meant for that portable format & home console games meant for the TV.
With the Switch as powerful as it is it’s allowing Nintendo to tackle both areas. Vita was barely as powerful as a PS2. 3DS is slowly fading away and it’ll leave fans with one option.
Vita had the chance to do better. They just didn’t deliver a great reason to buy one. The console was never geared toward kids well and adult gamers overall preferred to play those AAA titles on Sony’s other better and more powerful system at home and game with their smartphone on the go.
They didn’t deliver enough compelling games at a time where smartphones were becoming people’s primary way to play on the go. Switch is doing that. Sony never really had a great vision with the Vita, just a cool system.
CrazyDopetastic I love the switch. I love the vita. I'm just sad that the vita was underappreciated for its time. Then here comes Nintendo with the switch and everything is good once again. Why Can't we all share the love?
Also wondering if it was quantitie over quality at launch vs the vita and switch. I think they're just diffrentent, for example ps vita games are more for adults? If you think sony annouced a new full game like assassins creed that it would bring back the vita or, something like it? What do you think? Granted BOTW and Mario are amazing games for everyone!
The Vita launched with less third party support then Switch. Many of the games I named are third party games from Square Enix, Ubisoft, Bethesda & many others. Their first party lineup at launch isn’t even on the level of the content Nintendo released in its first year.
Let’s put it this way. The Vita has a little over 1400 games & has been out since 2012. The Switch has over 1000 games and came out just last year. Most of these games are third party & Indie games. So there’s no doubt that Switch has Indie support, third party support & major third party support - on TOP of the great first party games they create themselves.
There’s honestly NO comparing the Vita to Switch. Yes it was cool playing Assassin’s Creed on Vita but sit that game next to Breath Of The Wild and there’s no more conversation. In every aspect of gaming Switch is superior to Vita. But again, if you prefer Vita, that’s cool, you have the right to love what you love.
CrazyDopetastic no problem! Why don’t you get splatoon 2? I feel like it’s a really good game, there is a single player mode online battle mode and they’ve released a paid DLC called the octo expansion last week! And if you do decide on getting it can you do a game play?
