Cult classic video games? Why classic tho? Its not like video games based on cults have a huge base..
I am an idiot. I thought these games were going to be based on cults but turns out "cult classics" has an entirely different meaning lol.
Parasite Eve for me. Got two games back on PSone, and then a PSP release called The Third Birthday. The first game was a hybrid between an rpg and some survival horror, the second played more akin to a Resident Evil game to retain its survival horror feel but with 'magic', and The Third Birthday was a third person shooter - rpg. TTB gets a lot of hate, and while I'm disappointed it's the last one they released, I don't exactly hate it either, I enjoyed playing it a lot.
Conker, Alice and Beyond good and evil really would be the only ones on this list that are cult classics. Okami shouldn't even be on this list, especially since all the talking points were it's underrated
Bad list Mojo
The Longest Journey, Shadow Hearts/Koudelka, Ar Tonelico 1&2, Parasite Eve, and until recently I'd have said NieR but I'm hoping Automata will raise awareness about the original and get it the attention it deserves.
The Grim Fandango soundtrack, an all original score, deserves special recognition.
Also, let's add a few more to the list: Parasite Eve, Deadly Premonition, Nox, Shadow Hearts, Rez, Ikaruga, Yume Nikki.
