Tomb Raider Evolution by Game_track
■ Tomb Raider is a media franchise consisting of action-adventure games, comic books, novels, theme park rides, and movies, centring on the adventures of the female fictional British archaeologist Lara Croft. Since the release of the original Tomb Raider in 1996, the series developed into a lucrative franchise of related media, and Lara went on to become a major icon of the video game industry. The Guinness Book of World Records has recognised Lara Croft as the "Most Successful Human Videogame Heroine" in 2006. Six games in the series were developed by Core Design, and the latest four by Crystal Dynamics. All the games were first published by Eidos Interactive, now Eidos officially became part of Square Enix on 22 April 2009, meaning Square Enix owns the rights to the Tomb Raider trademark and characters of the franchise. To date two movies, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, have been produced starring American actress Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft. A reboot is scheduled to be released in March 2018.
The Tomb Raider video games have together sold over 45 million units, making it one of the best-selling video game series of all time. Future Tomb Raider games will be published by Square Enix.

on sen fou de l evolution on le sais que plus on vas aller dans les années plus les jeux seront beau !! video inutile pouce rougeet a la fin de ta video c'est une cinematique du dernier trou du cul.... nimp la video
Great time-line comparisons! How could we have played this when the figures were so blocky? Answer: it was all we had and ahead of its time. Like Doom. Lara always had a substantial chest size through the years!
I personally think that for the time, the original 5 are the best. The levels were huge and you could get completely lost in them, plus you had to find and figure out everything for yourself.
I did enjoy Tomb Raider 2013 and am yet to play Rise but I am finding the new ones a little bit spoon fed.
Tomb 2 legimately blew my mind in the jurassic era of 1996 - I came across a store display with TR2 all set to play on it and was instantly amazied, and hooked. Lara in the pit with the tiger - it was like a first hit of crack, first taste of sex, call it what you will, i was amazed, enraptured and instantly addicted and of course, played every incarnation of "tomb" good or bad since... but the newer one, OY The new ones! Too much emphasis on lush background etc. and not enough on story... i regularly replay T3, Chronicles and Last Revelation since to me they were where the game peaked.. oh for a London/Thames level again!
graphics enhanced, but gameplay? Look carefully and you see that while the landscape turned from blocklike to extremely realistic, the whole gameplay became more and more scripted. Once you get to a certain point, something collapses, and you got to press the right keys at the right time. The first games are stages with obstacles and puzzles to be solved.
Underworld ,Legend and Anniversary with their gameplay and graphic improvements plus the soundtrack are hands down the best ones!
After that its just not the true Lara games anymore.
Change doesnt alway mean something better...in this case since 2013 they ruined the character.
Second and third parts are most interest and the dopest) Cronicles, Last Revelation and AOD was pretty too. But AOD was last best TR part. All latest games was an average-computer-game-shit. No one shchoolchild or other shitted person can protest me, cause i've played all TR parts from first.
As TR player I don't want to see any shit from real life and elements from other games (such as Prince of Persia or other shit). Real Tomb Raider is much better. Realism is not a stronger side of this game, but a little bit dope and strange world - is best.
I for one first played Tomb Raider in the Eidos-Crystal Dynamics period, when it was basically a Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time copycat. I liked the National Geographic approach but something was definitely off, most noticeably the ancient stuff and Lara herself. I was thinking about playing the original for a comparative purpose and found myself completely sucked in for weeks. The original game possesses something which isn't there in later installments anymore, including the beloved-by-many second one. Either Core Design chose a more popular tone for the Tomb Raider II-III era or Eidos made them make the games more market-friendly, I don't know. I just felt this way because I couldn't point my finger to the thing that made the original Tomb Raider what it was. While the fourth one and the fifth one improved upon the original's legacy gameplay-wise, the story became a complete mess and I was thinking the developers couldn't make up their minds about where to move the games next. I knew one thing for sure: with all their problems they were still just better games to play than the completely uninspired Crystal Dynamics ones, where the gameplay itself made a step forward but the plot and most importantly the main character changed vastly and not in a good way. They became somewhat unhealthy for a lack of a better word. Somehow, Core Design-period games did a better job pulling you in and making you believe what you see, no questions asked of the 'what were they thinking' sort, more of the 'what is this?! What's going on? Who's this?! HOW DO I GET THERE' sort. When I discovered The Angel of Darkness, I met with a horrendous view of a broken masterpiece. Frankly, I believe it to have had the potential to become the best thing that would have happened to the series. Tomb Raider was going to get meaning again, and it smelled of The Ninth Gate. The art was haunting and all the look and feel wasn't at all what I remembered from the Eidos-Crystal Dynamics era. It had a bloody heart in its digital chest. Lara herself became absolutely alive and haunting, I really felt as though she was a person I've met but couldn't remember. The vibes were simply right. Everything was right.
On the other hand, the controls, the writing and the gameplay in general, good heavens what a nightmare it became. I had no idea what happened to the game itself as a game but I knew for sure it had something to do with the fact that the Core Design period ended quickly afterwards. Tomb Raider was itself in ruin, just like the remains of all the half-forgotten cultures it was trying to transport the players to, it really was; I could tell for sure the game has had a wonderful takeoff but something cruel happened to it afterwards.
Then I heard they were rebooting it.
What I had to face in 2013 was an Uncharted clone in Far Cry 3 tone and setting about a chick next door on her quest to kill Amaterasu, all in blood-splattered Buddhist decorations, which presented itself as 'serious and realistic'.
Tomb Raider is dead.
Evil Rose = Another dipshit wich only played clash of clans and call of duty listens to shitty EDM music and using Snapchat everyday, stop beeing a dick, talk about it with your shitty mainstream friends in a starbucks, girls like you with this ugly snapchat filter pictures are real cancer, just like this minecraft kids here
Agreed, they're not bad the older and newer ones have their good points, people just need to stop consuming memberberries and shitting on the newer adaptations. And by looks of Shadow,we're getting our sassy Lara back so best of both worlds!
Tomb Raider 2013 was my first tomb raider game and I am still completing the game. The graphics are just fabulous. By the way please upload upcoming PC games and best games for PC. I really appreciate your work keep going.
