Brian Corbino (2 months ago)
I just printed this on an Ender-3 with a 0.6mm nozzle and 0.2mm layers using the 0.2mm clearance version. Perfect. You are The Man, Angus.

Finally nailed the puzzle, interlocking spirals is a crazy way to make a brain bender of a puzzle :)
Mark Seaton (4 months ago)
I printed this today on my crappy Anet A6 printer. The only mod I have done is a belt tensioner and I printed the .2mm version as I didn't want to be a pussy. :-). Well. challenge accepted... And completed!
Atmo5phere (4 months ago)
took me 3 min to figure out
Jane Rain (4 months ago)
Ur cute
Nathan Fields (4 months ago)
Great! Now I have to get a printer just so I can get this puzzle. 🤬
Uwe Zimmermann (4 months ago)
0.3mm version printed well on my Wanhao i3 using PLA and 0.2mm layers. No sanding, very little play mostly at some not so sharp corners...
NPG3D (4 months ago)
Really nice. I'm working on a puzzle cube myself.
Ian Douglas (4 months ago)
What's the shiny purple filament you use?
Sascha Uncia (4 months ago)
It was harder to print than to solve, but I love this twisted little puzzle cube even if it did stab my hands X3
Ludo De Greef (4 months ago)
wasn't it free to use??
Wyatt Buckbee (4 months ago)
Design some shoes with either ninjaflex or Diabase’s x60 filament!
David (4 months ago)
Surprised you published the design for free. If anyone has ever designed something for the purposes of 3d printing, they would understand how long it takes and how stressful it can be sometimes.
ailaG (4 months ago)
I suppose that user engagement like this helps his channel (and therefore sponsors) more than the few dollars per person would. If we'd have to pay he'd have less user engagement. For instance, I wasn't sure I wanted to print it until I see the slicing time. And those who want to pay him can, and are encouraged to. All in all looks like a smart decision to me. And yes, it does take a long time and it is stressful...

You know how to keep 3d Makers in suspense ?..... Introduce them to Angus !! Love your work Bro, keep up the great video's !

Simultaneous discovery/creation is actually a very common phenomenon down thru history.  Current technologies and media lead similar brains to similar conclusions.

And again, If we don't use twitter, how do we share results? Great design, btw
Maverick Maker (4 months ago)
Great puzzle 7 hours to print, 3 minutes to figure out. Took 10 minutes to get apart, should have sanded it first.
Boba Fett (4 months ago)
done!, 4 hour print, was expected a bit more of a challenge, but still fun nonetheless.

Angus Deveson 3d printing sadist
Trying to decide if this needs supports to print or not. I think i spotted a couple parts that seem to be mid air printing. Can someone confirm?
Catalin FPGAguru (4 months ago)
I printed this without supports on a Prusa i3 MK3 in PLA, 0.1mm layers in about 6 hours. But the result with 0.2mm tolerance is too loose and almost comes apart by itself after being solved. Angus, would it be possible to also generate versions with 0.1mm and 0.15mm tolerances please?
iGameOver (4 months ago)
I think it is time, that we, your fans, design something for you, and then you have to print it :)
Coaster Labs (4 months ago)

ND Puzzles (4 months ago)
Haha, that's what I do all day long. I actually bought my 3D-printer just to print challenging puzzles (usually twisty puzzles). So sorry dear printer for "torturing" you... ;)
Jared Kaiser (4 months ago)
Not to be confused with a Rubik's Cube because of the alternate name.
Zu_alt_fuer (4 months ago)
selling your designs now? sad...
David (4 months ago)
Zu_alt_fuer That's like trying to shame a mechanic for charging to fix your car. The only sad person here is you.
Maker's Muse (4 months ago)
Normally I'd argue yes, because my work has value. But it's free xD
Peter Wing (4 months ago)
Angus, should I back the obsidian? And if so, what one should I get? It would be my first one.
Dimitri2014 (4 months ago)
Peter Wing yes for the price of ender 3 you can't go wrong, go for it
Peter Wing (4 months ago)
i only just saw the obsidian video lol. I assumed it was current. I'll check out the ender.
Maker's Muse (4 months ago)
The campaign for that ended ages ago... My vid for picks $350 or under is still valid but I'd also consider the ender 3
HammersmashedFace (4 months ago)
Very Cool! Is the next on the List to print with ender 2.
Stephen Weir (4 months ago)
Would anyone recommend a creality ender 3 as a beginner 3d printer and what is the best cheapest filament
Dimitri2014 (4 months ago)

Dave Lister (4 months ago)
Angus, where does the audio you use for your outro come from? just curious.
Maker's Muse (4 months ago)
In all honesty I don't recall the original source, it's from a vintage TV show. I have loads of samples I've collected over the years.
Karl Nowakowski (4 months ago)
I’ve enjoyed your torture test, I’ve learned quite a bit from them about my printer which is practical to other items I print.
