Firstly, I feel these 7 stages relate to only gamers who where there before the net offering guides for everything. Also I have been gaming long enough that I now kinda get into stage 3 and then catch my self and skip to stage 5. Mainly since controllers where expensive and I was still at school when I broke a controller in stage 4. Took me two months to get a new one so no gaming until then ;.;
So what if you rage quit because you beat the boss in stage 3, and the way you did it damaged you emotionally?
Im talikng about sephiroth from kingdom hearts 2. I was on that downward spiral of losing worse and worse.... then in a panic I used reflect on him to save myself. And it worked. I was so dumbfounded and pissed that I never tried that on my best run, I quit.
With the steps set out in this video, only one boss has ever been a 7 stage boss for me, and that was my first time playing Dark Souls 2 and fighting the Smelter Demon. That is the only boss to ever make me rage quit. I have rage quit in other scenarios, but never against a boss other than the Smelter Demon.
When i beat a tough boss i don't have elation. I just slump to the floor with my heart pounding and my fingers and toes numb, feeling as defeated as the boss. Then i go eat something and take a breather before i get back to the game.
I went through all those stages multiple times while fighting The Nameless King from Dark Souls 3. You have no idea how much I celebrated on stage 7. With so many deaths and so many souls lost, it was bittersweet to finally beat that son of a b*tch.
I had a 7 stage in the fight against Mr Hammer in Arkham City on New Game Plus. Because I was so busy with work, it actually took me 3 or 4 months to beat him as I kept going through stages 1 and 2 over and over again. Then, I stumbled upon the easiest way to beat him, and I felt so powerful. Setting up that fight now is so easy I really feel like Batman, plotting my strategy and laying my traps.
This is the Underworld Golbez fight in the DS remake of FFIV. Insult to injury: I looked up a strategy guide just for some form of idea and my party is a solid 30 levels past what Golbez actually is. Even Rydia is over leveled! But nope can’t get past him
The stage 7 boss for me was in Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword. I finally made it to the last Gannondorf fight and got stuck for weeks. Eventually I just stopped and looked around before entering the fight again and realized there was still a warp back to sky loft so I could get the elixirs I needed. Went back into the fight after the resupply and beat it without taking a single hit. One of the most satisfying moments I have had.
I once beat a boss on stage 3, fighting seymour flux in FFX, i couldn't even get into its Total Annihilation phase anymore, was struggling to perform overdrives, then I screwed up one of Rikku's mixes.... and ended up with Trio of 9999....
When I beat Sephiroth the first time after about 70 iterations I screamed so loud I scared everyone in my house. It was the possibly the toughest boss battle I’ve ever completed...definitely a 7 stager
Dark souls the ravager of nerves I have played a little and I smashed my desk with a hammer now I don't know how the hell do I came into such a fit of rage but I know this everyone that continues to play this nerve smasher is worth of respect 👏👏👏
For those who feel like Dark Souls just doesn’t make sense... stage seven is why people love them so much. If you put any real time and effort into gaming as a hobby, you eventually reach the point where most bosses become two stagers at best, and that roaring high can be hard to find.
Gotta love how not a single clip in this video was from bloodborne's older hunters DLC. Those bosses were the only ones where in I made it all up to stage 7 aside from ornstein and smough and even then, I probably had it harder with Ludwig.
Lol Bloodborne is an amazing game, I had a tough time with Gascoigne the first time too but the game does such a good job of organically teaching you to get better at it that when I made a new character later he was easy and I beat him first try.
Also, I assume that since it isn't Gehrman or Orphan of Kos in the video that means you didn't get very far in Bloodborne.
