The Penumbra and Amnesia series are pretty creepy. When I play games I get so into them it's like I am actually in the game so I get pretty creeped out by horror games. Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of The Earth was a great game too. Looking forward to the 2018 one. Also, Agony looks pretty good.
Ah yes, silent hill. The one game series that has actually managed to continue to scare the hell out of me. Even after i had already turned off my ps2 in some cases lol. Kinda want to play though all of them again just for old times sake lol
Solomon Kane amnesia and SH2 are by a long shot. I played through outlast without a single scare, not even the cheap jump scares got me. On the other hand, I was absolutely terrified while playing amnesia.
Indeed Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare was good - the best horror game I ever played...
It wasn't perfect, but locations was made really good. A lot of details made it look real (especially like on PlayStation (1) ).
A lot of other games feels 'plastic', You got all the time impression taht the world, You're in is fake.
A lot of repetytive patterns You can see everywhere.
The same sections of buildings, trees etc.
Early Far Cry, GTAIII, Battlefield 3 - this games had something unique all the time. Newer games are big but too schematic.
I hate to see repetytive patterns - it's totally not immersive :/
