Tip: 8:40 run and gun
To get the first coin, you will need to parry on the pink jumping creature which makes you go higher. If you miss the parry then (only if you have smokebombs) you can go on higher ground and then face left and use your smoke bomb. Much easier. You can also jump on the tree and skip parts of the run and gun where there are tree trunks
I found a glitch in cuphead but in pe in goopy la grande you need to loss a lot of times then the controlls go up and if you want to shoot you need to dash after that just get hit then you'll fly and you can shoot down the best time to fly is in his last phase also if you don't fly then you'll walk/run faster and why you need to use it in his last phase is because grave goopy la grande doesn't bouce/jump
by the way here is a tier list on the charms (my opinion)
1st: Double heart example: because the damage reduction is only 10% but you have to get it very late in the game so yeah not so good for this
2nd: Heart example: instead of smoke bomb i'd get this because the damage reduction is (almost) nothing (-5%)
3rd: Smoke Bomb example: sometimes the smoke bomb can be useful for speedruning the game or to dodge attacks easier but you would rather get the heart charm if i were you i wold get extra HP
4th (2 way tie): P. Sugar and coffee (sugar) example: Parrying works like an RPG at first you suck at it then you slowly get better until you get it perfect (basically) every time and you stay good at parry for the rest of your life so yeah. (coffee) example: it pretty slow but if you can parry it's completely useless.
5th (or last): whetstone example:it does almost no damage and you have to find out what can "parry" like the blue projectiles.
actually the 3rd phase on grim matchstick (isle 2) you have to not shoot the fire balls or else they will split up and make it harder to not get hit but for all the other bosses you should be always firing
1:Honestly there are videos online of people beating the game with the starting gun just memorize attacks and if you are really stuck look at an individual guide for the boss
Number 1 just shows how much of a noob you are. It’s obvious you should hit the hit box also you dismissed the chaser when In reality ITS EXTREMELY USEFUL FOR HITTING DIFFICULT HITBOXES also these tips are common sense.
Spoiler warning for a boss in world 2! This is advice
For the Dragon in world 2 at the end do not shoot at all because his fireballs will spread out in all four directions, inevitably hitting you. Equip the chaser shot and fire when the dragon is using his flamethrower, one of the dragon heads will do this. Also try to get to the end with maximum hearts since the ending for me was annoying at first. This might help or not. It worked for me
Another thing I found extremely helpful for Ribby and Croaks (because it took me a week to beat them.) when the fan thing is blowing in your face stay facing the fan and just run forward and when you need to back up let the fan push you backwards and for the spinning ball things they always have a pattern. Watch the first ball. It will either hit close to the frog on the left first or not. From that point on it will always alternate!!! Hope this was helpful!!!!!
Bruce Bee wow thanks for the support!!! Also you didn’t take into consideration that maybe I took some breaks instead of sitting there and burning my brain up. Also I am a dancer so I had dance during that time as well and my siblings wanted to play games as well so through the time I actually got to play was very short!!! Unlike most people. *cough* you *cough* I don’t sit and play for 5 hours. I take breaks because I have a life!!
BasilTulip 17043 I mean even my friends couldn’t believe It took you a week to take out the third boss. That one attack isn’t that hard. For me, maximum is a day for a boss. Your just really, really, bad
lobber for the final phase, shoot straight up, it will fall on her
spreadshot is amazing on the second phase and can do tons of damage while she is stuck doing a second phase attack during the third phase. I've actually beaten her right as the third phase started before
"Always be firing." In the boss levels, yes. But, certain Run 'N Guns have sections that where it's better to not shot the enemies. Case in point: Isle II's Funfair Fever. If you shoot the clown balloons, they explode, giving you many smaller things to dodge.
Fun fact: wen playing two player, if player two does and player one can’t save him, player two can come back if player two presses A. And if player one were to perish, wait till the body leaves the screen, then player one press STARt to come back. But for whatever reason it only works once for player 1.
I know a way to make the Cagney carnation fight super easy, when she is about to release the chasing seeds from her leaves, quickly jump into the middle of the leaves and get hit by the seeds, this way Cagney carnation will freeze giving you a chance to shoot her to death!
6:57 that is true, but in run and gun levels or bosses like Psy-carrot from the root pack, Beppi the clown in his second and third stage and Muffsky Chernikov from baroness von bon bon's fight, it can be extremely helpful, considering they all have either really small or really oddly placed hit boxes that the chaser bullet can easily hit.
Tip: when you go to goopys tree when you get in to the fight do this on fase sorry for spelling 1&2 at the beginning of the fight when it says ready duck and you won't get hit by him if you have smoke dash use it on the 3 fase of goopy
Oh man it's just so easy to get completely taken over by the fact that the game is so challenging. I'm always up for a challenge in video games but cuphead is a different story! It took 70h+ but I managed to get all S-Rank and P-Rank completion (200%). I recorded it all as well, with commentary, I've got a relatively small gaming channel and would love some support/feedback for some, or any videos :)
My strategy: Remapping my controller so I don't cramp my right hand. My config: RT for the shot, RB for the dash, LT for the fixed shot, LB for the special attack, and I leave the A button for the jump.
For all my lady gamers/guy gamers with longer hair:
- Open custom controls menu
- Change shoot button to RT
- Get a scrungie/hair tie
- Wrap scrungie/hair tie around RT, now you have an extra finger to work with! If you do it right it won't interfere with your controls, lol.
Also, I can't stress enough the importance of customizing your controls in general. If you die more than twice in a row during a run-n-gun stage, it's probably because you're wasting time/attention on the neutral control scheme. When you're in the overworld try customizing and then test your new controls out on the tutorial "stages" or the run-n-gun sections
4:53 I have trouble on the snake and bull attack on the slot machine. Ribby and Croak’s 2nd stage is easy with long range weapons. Also, I always mess up with smoke bomb because I always land on an enemy.
Another quick tip (which I took a long time to learn somehow), is that you should start parrying right before you get to the object you can parry. This way, you don't need exact timing to parry it, and it's just a bit easier.
