If arms died already then the switch game's are really crap (not the switch itself) a bunch of 8 bit indie game's and mario and zelda which we have had for over a year already yeah that's worth 350 dollars right
keep in mind, part of what hampered the Wii U was that Nindendo's 1'st party development was split between the Wii U, and the 3DS, which had a monopoly over portable game consoles since Sony abandoned the Vita. The Wii U didn't do well but the 3DS is still doing well and got more 1st and 3rd party tiles than the Wii U. Smash bros, Mario - just about everything had a 3DS version which did better than the Wii U version. Now, with the Switch the singular focus of Nintendo's massive 1'st party development engine, it's no wonder we're seeing stunner after stunner released for the platform. Nobody does 1'st party like Nintendo and now with a single console to develop for it's going to be year after year of strong 1st party exclusives for the Switch, not to mention all the developers who made content for the 3DS but can now focus on just the Switch.
I live half the year abroad. I only have enough room in my suitcase to take either the switch or my PS4. I take the Switch. However, I do think lifestyle matters quite a bit. For those of us who work in cities and take a train to work and can space out while we ride or hang out with non-gamer friends after work- the switch is nothing short of perfection. I started taking the bus instead of the metro because even though it takes twice as long to get home , I get twice as much time to play and without train change interruptions. If you live more rural and/or don't use public transit daily you really need to want those those first party titles for the switch to pay off.
Great info and advice, thank you very much sir. I feel the same on a lot of things as I mainly play it in dock and just got it mainly for Zelda and Mario. I held out for a long time hoping it would get cheaper but just needed to try that Zelda, worth it in the end I suppose.
I hope bethesda actually releases elder scrolls for switch online cuz i don’t wanna waste like 50 bucks for it with most of the dlc for pc. Btw I wonder how we are gonna get all our pokemon to the swicth.... i hope we don’t have to link up the 3ds cuz apparently i was born in fricken 1995...
I just got the Switch today havnt got to play it yet. Its a bit sad when I dont reallly care for nintendo stuff anymore like back in the day and right now id rather have my ps4 game on PC and buy the switch and could care less about the xbox. Big part of the nintendo switch is memories of playing the nes snes and so on back in the day when I was a little kid . You just get that urge to play games that bring you back to them days.
wow there has never been a gaming console if you can call this one, as the switch . There has never been any other item with any less value for the money than this thing. Basically if you HATE money get a switch.
Or get a ps4 and you get God of War, The last of Us and Uncharted. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. And you get a media player, better multiplayer, more active community etc. Yes, the switch has Zelda, Mario and Splatoon, but that's pretty much it.
biggest flaw of the switch (by a landslide) is the fact they haven't made it so you can remove the battery easily.. it's actually a reason for me to skip the switch.. i can't keep replacing batteries every year.
just picked up one and really enjoying it! i was apprehensive cos of the price...but i found one online next to brand new with : everything you'd expect included, super mario kart 8, super mario odyssey, zelda, splatoon 2, ARMS, sonic mania, rocket league and stardew valley, just for £200!
I love this console but man I need some triple A games to come out, as soon as I finished Zelda after 40 hours I put it down... I recently came back to the switch, restarted my Skyrim and I almost feel like an idiot for leaving my baby lmao
How is the console after one year? Are the joy cons still fully functional? I would like to get the switch, but I have seen a lot of comments about problems from the system. That‘s why I am afraid to get it.
TLDR; I love my Switch.
I’m a huge fan of Zelda, this is the reason I bought my Switch on day 1, to be honest I though I was going to sell the switch after I was done with Zelda, but, its a great console, it’s definitely worth it. For me the portability is a killer deal. It’s amazing to play Doom while I do my laundry, its amazing to play Zelda while I go back to my house after a hard long day of work. I like that I can play on my bed while I “watch” TV.
Regarding whether the Nintendo Switch is truly portable, it most definitely is. I don’t think it’s a _handheld_ game console—that’d be for consoles that can fit in your pocket—but it _is_ portable. It can fit in a bookbag, it’s largely self-contained—not requiring a separate monitor or TV set, and it can be used while not plugged in.
