See, my problem is I *just* bought Splatoon 2 thinking that it had Multiplayer (from the word *MULTIPLAYER* plastered everywhere) and it DOESN'T! And I mean split-screen, with your friends, Multiplayer. I don't have much interest in Splatoon 2 myself (not really a shooter person) and I have vertigo also. However, my best friend has two girls (both age 12) who come over and game sometimes and I wanted a new bright, fun, action-based multiplayer (split-screen co-op) game that would be exciting like MK8 and 3D World and even some Nintendo Land games. (see list below) I dunno what to do cuz I've spent money on this game that I probably can't use now. The kids don't have a Switch. They're very poor.
Games I've played with the girls. Any suggestions for MP co-op games would be great!:
We've LOVED playing MK8, Super Mario 3D World, Nintendo Land (Zelda, Ghost, and Pikmin were favs). They've been almost clinically dependent on Minecraft but I've gotten them into single-players like Rayman Legends (didn't know it was a MP), Spyro games, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Guild Wars 2 (PC), Kingdoms of Amalur(PC), The Sims 3 & 4 (PC), and now even some Skyrim, Toki Tori 2+, and Fe.
Firstly, A++ for reading my lengthy post! Most people don't. (I have aphasia and slow mental processing, mental decay, etc... disability issues not fun that have turned being a gamer into a mucho-challenging lifestyle. UGH! meep!) Also, a *Gold Star with Sparkles* for responding and with substantive information! Thank you SO VERY MUCH!!! I'm going to go right now and look at reviews on the games I don't already know about.
Zelda and MK8 Deluxe were bundled with my Switch (and I love Deluxe better than the orig cuz of the Gliders! Much more versatile functionality!). I haven't tried the Battle mode yet but I plan to. I never bothered with it before because that was one of the huge things that reviewers and gamers always complained about on the orig MK8. But I heard they actually made it viable on Deluxe.
Overcooked is on my paper right now and I was thinking of adding Rocket League to my list too. (I wondered if there are pick ups in that game.... ya know, Real Tourney/Shooter/Fighting game style?) Thank you again for your help and your response! You are great!! (BTW, I'm a brand new subber. I subbed earlier today when I found you looking up this info. *smile)*
Anjalena I totally understand you’re frustration. So I have a few recommendations. First, overcooked is a great one. Do they like the LEGO games? Because there are three or four on the Switch and I believe they all have multiplayer. There is also Human: Fall Flat which is a funny rag doll physics game I have a TON of fun playing. MK8 is also on the Switch in Deluxe form, and Rocket league is soccer with cars and it’s fairly easy to play. Those are a few good ones, but since the Switch has only been out for a year a lot of the games you’ve played before haven’t had equivalent releases on the Switch yet.
I think you made a mistake with Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, because the game can be played by up to 4 people locally. My friends and I play this every time we get together, and they love it. It's one of the best multiplayer co-op games available right now on the Switch, IMO.
Marjun Raposon I thought so!! Dang it! When I looked at the description it says two players and I was like “what the heck I thought I’ve seen this played by four people!” Thanks I’ll pin a comment with the fix!
