Many times have we have several amphibious attacks on England from France and vs versa at the same time. The English channel has been filled with warships and aircrafts flying over paratroops and fighters hunting them down. Flighttime over the channel from closest airfields in France is 10-15 mintues depending on airfield and target. To fly cross the biggest map in BF1942 takes about a minute. Strategic bombing raiders can fly for 2 hours to reach the target, and then back to nearest Airfield.

Can't compare orange with apples. BF1942 is a shoebox game with no map bigger then 2x2 km at the most, often smaller then that, and with no more then 32 players totally. WWII Online has one gigantic map of whole western Europe in scale 1/2 and there is unlimited numbers of players that can join multiple battles on the same map at the same time. If you are a pilot can you fly over one battle to the next within a few minutes flight time. + Sound from aircrafts are crappy (none existant) in BF1942.
