I usually only Super Jump to a teammate who is well-surrounded by my team's ink. Even then, I mostly tend to swim back as it's the safer option.

Drop roller is actually a great ability imo. It’s saved me on numerous occasions in s+, it’s a possibility that you’re just not using drop roller to its full potential

I found a strat for tower control in splatoon 1 and it involved putting down a lot of beacons and when you are in danger just jump and you will be safe for a moment and maybe you will even get a counter that way. Works better with quick super-jump gear

Some tips from a competitive player. Rule 3 only applies if you don't have beacons. If you have beacons by all means just jump. Its a lot safer and all you have to do later is replenish the beacon. Drop roller isn't that bad. No one really uses the ability, so offensive players can abuse it (A tip for the tip: If you aren't using a offensive weapon, never use drop roller, it wont help. Also, only use drop roller with weapons that are VERY offensive in only tower, rainmaker and clam blitz.) Since no one is expecting you to do a roll after you jump, you can roll to a safe place and kill the person waiting for you. Never, ever, use quick super jump. If you are placing beacons around the map, sub power up is your best friend (take it from the support player). It lets everyone jump faster, making beacons more effective. Rule 6 doesn't always apply, some times its too risky, so in those situations dont jump. I can see it if you have a clam and only need 2 points to win, and you jump although u are the only one alive. Thats worth it because you will have enough time to do something, but when its not that big of a push or its only you and a teammate alive, dont jump. Hope this improves your game even more, thanks and stay fresh EDIT: For everyone who is saying, "Use Stealth Jump!" Here is what I have to say that you are missing. If someone is close enough to your jump point, they will be able to see the jump, and be able to kill you. So, the only reason that you would want to use sj is if you were jumping to a teamm8 that was in a risky spot, but if he/she is there, than other people from the enemy team will be there also, leading to them seeing you, and you getting killed. Be careful out there!

Since I main the brella, I usually hold it up in front of where a teammate is spawning if they super jump to me to ensure they're safe when they land. I actually saved someone from getting splat by a charger by doing this. ^^

That's really kind of you. I usually try to stay around that spot, too. It gets frustrating when you Super Jump to someone and they let the other team splat you.

Alex, thank you for doing a video on super jumping! It was very good, but I take issue with one thing you said...it was about "getting yourself killed". A bad super jump gets you AND YOUR TEAMMATE killed (as the jumper draws fire to the teammate). This is the essence of the problem. In response to some "comments below", stealth jump has apparently been nerf'd from the first game. It is not completely stealth and I've draw fire upon landing for that reason.

Use splashdown at the end of a super jump. My brother got passed at someone who did that to him the other day but it seems really effective. Also, in tower control, when you're jumping to a teammate who's on the tower make sure to hold that direction on the d-pad quick menu so you jump to them and not to where they were when you tapped the direction.

Love throwing splat bombs just as people land to splat them all over again. But honestly the best aspect of the game is hearing the glass breaking sound when you get a kill with a charger

Btw, dont use ninja jump. It sucks now. it only works if youre jumping a distance away from the enemy. otherwise they'll know youre coming.

A quick way to jump back to spawn is to remember a pattern: X + down + A This pattern is good when your set has Tenta Missiles, as you have much more coverage at spawn, and can get up to every opponent in one special, before jumping back into the fray! I once got a quad kill doing that !

In the first game, if you jump to a beacon it didnt show if ur jumping but it sadly shows if ur jumping in splatoon 2

Ace Raven it's shit in Splatoon 2, enemies can still see where you are landing in close range but they can't see that from a distance however

if you have beacon, and an enemy has them too, you can see their beacon on the map and he can see yours too, if you have beacon don't cluster them, spread them apart, this gives more option for your team, try to put beacons in safe or hard to reach or see places, if you can stand on it, you can put a beacon there hence you can put beacon on uninkable surfaces & grates, on push type objective maps like rainmaker & tower control use beacons to allow player to super jump outside of the conflict zones by putting them down as you progress forward.

if the area your teammate is in is covered in a lot of enemy ink, do not super jump to them with a splatling, range blaster, charger, or squelcher. if you do happen to super jump and you know you're a dead man, THROW YOUR SUB WEAPON. the extra grenade has a chance of killing them or slowing them down, ESPECIALLY an autobomb. if you are a roller and someone is shooting down your drop location, time your swing and you can get rid of them. key word being TIME it, dont just hold down the fire button. if you have tenta missiles or a stingray, super jump as far from the battle as possible. the tentamissiles will get a bigger radius and the stingray will be MUCH easier to turn. and holy hell if you do this with stingray you'll take back what you said about it being a useless special, and don't pretend you haven't thought that before. do NOT use stealth jump with a splashdown. the other team will be attracted to your super jump like flies. you'll catch many more people if you let your signal appear. these are my tips as an S rank level 34 but take them how you will.

Also Drop Roller makes Rollers, Inkbrushes and more a lethal weapon. They're excellent for taking out one enemy camping, decent at two, and nearly impossible at 3. Around 3 or 4 you'll just want to shoot/flick, or throw a bomb. Otherwise, if you don't have DR, just don't jump to danger...

I try to super jump back to base when im in danger, but my squid just has to pop his head out of the ink and i get killed!! but when it does work, i dont have to wait the full 10 seconds to get back!!

Yeah, it seems like people super jump whenever possible whenever I play on both sides. Often times I have just splatted someone and there's a person already super jumping to them, free kills, yay. But I can't tell you how many times Ill end up being the one that got splatted and a person super jumps to me. :/ Moral of the story: ALWAYS make sure the person your super jumping to is safe.

Moral of the story: Get drop roller if you use a roller. You can roll, and then flick the roller. 1 shot guarentee if they're an idiot. Throw a curling bomb after and get close if they're further out. Results may vary.
