I own 1 switch and 3 docks. A dock came with the switch, I purchased the 2nd, and the third came as a free gift when Nyko replaced my switch (their 3rd party dock broke mine. ) So I have 3 Nintendo docks and one extra Nyko dock (will never use the Nyko dock ever again). So I would love a dockless switch purchase to come to the US store. I would also like to see a switch with no joycons or dock as a possible option. There are lots of people like me up to their ears in switch accessories (3 sets of joy cons, 2 pro controllers, 2 arcade sticks, Hori pokken fight pad for wii U, and the Wii U game cube adapter + 3 GCN wave birds). I bring my switch with me all the time, and bring it to a local pub for Ultra SFII play off games a few times a month. I would have purchased an extra switch for my family to keep at home full time, but I didn't want more docks and controllers. Something like this would be perfect for me.

The dock is a piece of shit. I used mine for an hour, six months ago. It sucks when a product is made in such a way that, it breaks itself.
John Ronel Gomez (4 months ago)
I just bought one, and this happens.
Dhom H (4 months ago)
So. No dock. But still comes with it's own charger. Yes? If so then I'm in. Edit*: checked the website. It doesn't come with AC adapter. Bummer...
The MNH Show (4 months ago)
I would rather have gotten the dockless one since I don't own a tv
Romoló Potassio (4 months ago)
I saw the dockless switch at target o.O
Romoló Potassio (4 months ago)
Oh! And it had the same PRICE!!! My friend was wondering why
Foreverknight Gaming (4 months ago)
Sam M. (4 months ago)
No. I don't agree with this decision, mainly because my dad and I both have switches, and having only a single doc would lead to one switch being charge deprived, while the other has to take turns with the TV, even though we have a TV in the playroom as well. The extra 50 bucks is worth it, i'd say. Just thinking about having to argue with my dad is lowering my emotional state.....

finally 😀👍👍👍

It is for if you broke the whole screen, but you dont need another dock
Clay4Trey (4 months ago)
I never use the dock.
Blaknorris (4 months ago)
Never used the dock once and ive had it since launch loolll
some dude (4 months ago)
Nice. Now give me new 3ds xl without cameras
AngelusKnight (4 months ago)
if it was $200-230. otherwise there's no gain for those that are buying it as it first console.
Mr.Jeorge XIII (4 months ago)
The only benefit would be if your switch broke but still have the dock. Buying the switch without the dock is kinda like a backwards step. You'd sacrifice the benefit of having a console that's both in home and portable
Kouta Kossuth (4 months ago)
Good, mines broken, i have plenty of controllers and games though.
I remember using my dock...once...on day one. After that, I never used It again.
An portable only switch is in my wishlist
Spencer Hunt (4 months ago)
I feellike if they made it handheld only they couldn't call it a switch. So its probably for multi switch households
Hey Squidward (4 months ago)
Hell yes i would get this as i dont have another tv for the switch dock to plug into as i have my xbox and wii and sky box plugged in to my tv so why waste money on a switch doxk at least some people will agree with me also even if i had a dock i would still use the handheld mode as you lose absolutely nothing besides a bigger screen
Jacob Hazell (4 months ago)
The margins would be diff on the dock itself, so $55 off is very decent. Would buy 2 more consoles for household at that price.
Spintechfilms (4 months ago)
Idk where switch force lives but everywhere ive been in my area are selling the dock for like $70-$75
Sir Woofu (4 months ago)
Thats good for replacement
Jacob Berman (4 months ago)
Forget that crap, no dock or joycon gripper.. and a $55 saving.. RIP off
Fan Fan (4 months ago)
2017 $299 with dock 2018 $249 without dock 2020 $199 without dock along with Pokemon release and discontinues 3DS
MikeMM (4 months ago)
That's something I would buy cause my parents won't let me have a TV in my room what's the point in a doc if you have someone or something restricting you from using it
Eduardo Cevallos (4 months ago)
Will this one come with a new nvidia tegra chip? Patching hacks?
Mario castillo (4 months ago)
For me personally, I always saw the switch as a portable console first and a home console second so for a bundle to come out that doesn't have the dock for less is a smart move if you're someone like me who doesn't really use it that much and sell the dock separately.
Squidkid2744 Squid (4 months ago)
Nintendo should make a sort of Switch-2DS that doesn't have a dock or removable joycons, but fits in the normal dock and can use joycons wireless.
Squidkid2744 Squid (4 months ago)
Also it should be $200
GamerNation (4 months ago)
If the Switch doesn't require the dock to charge, and can do so via regular USB, I'd get it. Or rather, ask my dad to consider it. I mean, if it's a 20% saving, that's great. It would make it more accessible for my family.
Curt Chandler (4 months ago)
No! Nintendo is doing this for a reason. Alot of Japanese people work a a ton of hours. Most Japanese people work for a salary. This cause's Japan to make more sales on handheld then console. This is a option for those kinds of people. The dock for a avarge Japanese male is pointless. High numbers of Japanese men do not even own a TV.
Alejandro Dulché (4 months ago)
*Boneless Switch.
The Last Chozo (4 months ago)
I think it is dumb
Holden Ellis (4 months ago)
maybe they can cast to smart tvs in the future
William Hollenbaugh (4 months ago)
I'd like to see a package that includes the "tablet", charge cable, pro controller with charge cable and that's it. No dock, no joy-cons.
Cypig LPs (4 months ago)
Buying this for my sis!
dakito fey (4 months ago)
refurbished gamestop one is 280 so unless is was like 239.99 or less i wouldn't buy it

Sir Penguin (4 months ago)
I want this to come to the US

Ugima plays games (4 months ago)
Think its an actual good idea i play my switch handheld while listening to the tv it could also be if you have 2 children or more that want to have a switch
Zuckerton (4 months ago)
Not worth the savings. Especially when you consider that you're saving $50, just to pay $90 down the road if you decide you want a dock.
Bryan Hill (4 months ago)
Not a bad idea for those of us that actually break or broke our original
The True Nub (4 months ago)
Whats a dock?
JB Saber (4 months ago)
Switch from the Switch to the _Switch_ !
Mr Alcoholic panda (4 months ago)
andres791 (4 months ago)
I think nintendo should go that route, because righ now the switch has no business competing with the xbox or ps4 as a homeconsole.
ChrisSketch (4 months ago)
Would be ideal for me since I’m a van dweller and have been waiting for the price to drop.
CouchHobbit - (4 months ago)
Dumb idea
London Summers (4 months ago)
Well for folks who had a switch brick, or in the case of my friend had their switch fall into a puddle of water when the tourist golf cart thing they were on tipped over (no injuries other than the switch), buying just the switch since they already have a dock seems like a good idea.
French Horn User (4 months ago)
I would definatley buy this if I didn't already have a switch. I would just have to buy the mini dock.
P3TER (4 months ago)
200$ ??? plz
Combo Hell (4 months ago)
I never used the doc at all
BREZZE STARSKY (4 months ago)
Stupid it wouldn't even be called a switch without the dock
givemedepussie pliss (4 months ago)
I would buy a cheaper portable only switch.
Sweezy (4 months ago)
Y’all who don’t want a dock are hella crazy, like yea I enjoy taking the switch to work and school, but when it come home to play Mario kart, arms, BotW, snippetclips, I want that on my big TV!!! That’s literally the beauty of the switch, otherwise how different is it from a tablet with controller accessories? Or a psp? Or DS?
Naveek Darkroom (4 months ago)
They have Switchless docks don't they? So I suppose a dockless Switch is the next logical step.
Jared (4 months ago)
I wouldn’t be against it, the only thing I’d be worried about is getting better battery life in a dock less Switch.
Solar Flayme (4 months ago)
I just want the damn switch
Matthew Coloma (4 months ago)
I think this will be somewhat limited time.
Jeff Corpac (4 months ago)
This seems like a perfect idea for the Japanese market, perhaps less so for the US. My (limited) understanding is that Japanese players will be away from their home, and thus away from any dock, a lot more often than US gamers. Playing on public transport, like a train, would be a much bigger draw for Japanese players than for Americans. If you have multiple family members with their own Switch consoles, you could also run into a situation where you have more Switch docks than you have TVs that you'd want to play games on, so the dock becomes an unnecessary expense.
KingBeastMode119 Suno (4 months ago)
I'm just wondering if it comes with a charger so certain ppl who don't have a dock at all can charge it and the joy cons without worrying about anything because if that's the case I want a switch now
Isaac Stetski (4 months ago)
If Smash Bros Switch doesn't hit 20 million units I don't know what will
wayneslady8786 (4 months ago)
I used my dock all the time. I use my switch portability too but it's mostly docked.
Lily Belle (4 months ago)
I hope it comes to US and it will only be $200 or maybe $150
CedrosPL (4 months ago)
Give up the dock? Hell no, it's my main playstyle and I love it! However, I am kind of happy that Nintendo did this, many people, many options, give the people what they want! Pokemon and Smash this year! Cheers :)
So Forlorn (4 months ago)
I hope they don't make a line of portable switches. Then it literally wouldn't be a "switch" anymore. Jesus.
Evan S (4 months ago)
Well the Dock is 90$. So I guess if you never want to dock your Switch, (Which makes no sense) get it. I’m just glad it’s not the *New Nintendo UnSwitch XL*
BVM (4 months ago)
“Anywhere Anytime”. This proves they are going for more mobile. I hope not though.
Hannah Deards (4 months ago)
I haven’t played more than 2 or 3 hours on the dock since release date. I’m definitely a handheld system fan. Always have been. I wouldn’t be too fussed without a dock but it is nice to have.
Purple Dawn (4 months ago)
Not an awful idea. I've used the dock maybe 2 times since the switch's release and if I had the option of buying it without the dock for cheaper I would probably do so. But that does take away the switch gimmick though.
First Name Last Name (4 months ago)
I don't use my dock except to charge but my friend loves it when he comes over and hardly plays in handheld
First Name Last Name (4 months ago)
You can get more than $50 for selling the dock grip and straps so I don't think this is worth it unless you don't want to take the time to do that
Ogram Brat (4 months ago)
Has this one been opened up yet? Maybe its a secret revision🐒
matthewthegamer976 (4 months ago)
Who else got an ad with switchforce in it
Wavy Vaporizers (4 months ago)
335 dollars to be exact u know theres like a 20% sales tax in certain places.. shut back when ps3 first came out I paid 630 bucks 30 bucks sales tax
isak larsen (4 months ago)
Gabe said they should do this a while back
David (4 months ago)
I think this is a bad sign for 3ds lovers. Nintendo said they were continuing the ds's because they are cheap. Now they are making the switch cheaper, closing the price gap.
godskillers666 (4 months ago)
I got a dock for 67 from gamestop. U.S.
Zachy Be (4 months ago)
if i were nintendo i would glue the joycons onto the switch (not literally i mean put the joycon on permanently) and make it smaller. I also think it would sell more if they made closer to 150 dollars then 200 dollars. Lastly, make it available in stores and worldwide then push it just as much as the normal switch in adds and in stores.
Omar Royal Gaming (4 months ago)
Great price
Succy Succ Succ (4 months ago)
Huh? It wasn't $300 in Japan. It's like $260 or something after converting from ¥30000. So, this is not a $50 save. The dock doesn't cost them anywhere near $50 to manufacture. Selling it for $50 less would simply result in a loss.
Death Knight (4 months ago)
I always play my switch handheld
Taffy is trashy (4 months ago)
I dont mind this, I prefer playing handheld mode. I wouldnt buy it still because them I wouldnt be able to play MK8D in 1080p
Scotland Dobson (4 months ago)
I think the most significant thing here is the price drop. That could potentially get a lot more units moving, which could be interesting.
Blind Valkyrie (4 months ago)
I'm legally blind so I need to play on a tv
Hikaru WDM (4 months ago)
So it's a budget buy version as it were. Kinda like the new 2ds
Johno Daz (4 months ago)
Quality video Zach(SF). I have been saying this should be a thing but I was thinking it would be more around 80-100 bucks off for a Dockless Switch version but 55 bucks off is nothing too sneeze at and I think this a good cheaper starting point for new comers, travellers and Handheld gamers aswell as adding an additional Switch too for family members. Don't forget that cheaper smaller Dock is coming aswell that could be a companion too get with the Dockless Switch. 4th Edge Out.
Darth Dulla (4 months ago)
They need to do VR
Mikle Allard (4 months ago)
This is a scam! If they sell the dock for $90, that's more like 30% of it's value! Someone could buy the full switch bundle and sell the dock for $70 and would have paid less than they would for the bundle without it Nintendo offers! (Assuming it is only %20 off) That's ridiculous! It's time for Nintendo to sell their docks for what they're actually worth.
FASTBLAZER14 (4 months ago)
I mainly use the switch as a portable console when I’m home playing on the tv I just play on my PS4 but when I’m out and about I use my switch so I think it’s a good idea they do this.
Eric Kelly E.K. (4 months ago)
Im afraid if they move for portable only the quality of the games coming out will be more mobile or handheld quality instead of home console quality
Eric Kelly E.K. (4 months ago)
I mean there is possibility the 3rd party games wont be as AAA grade and Im afraid they will be dumbed down to handheld console standards instead of home console standards, for example the GTA stories games for PSP and the COD games for the DS and PS vita
Tj Castle (4 months ago)
I like this, I see it as a (extremely baby) move to kill the DS. So I'm a fan, even if it's just kinda something little. And there is no way the ever kill their home console.
C. T (4 months ago)
I mainly play in docked mode. Thumb this comment up for mainly docked and down for handheld 👍
Hamirul Aziq (4 months ago)
Should be $200...
Miquel Burns (4 months ago)
The dock by itself (on Nintendo store) and not the dock kit is $60, so not much over the normal price.
Joseph Moulton (4 months ago)
Now this Is what i was hoping to see rather than a remodel of the console with a new name to confuse customers I mean, have you ever tried explaining every system in the 3ds family?
