Another one I recommend getting is enter the gungeon. It’s a fast paced dungeon game but with guns and the 2D style it has makes it look awesome and fun it also has co-op. It’s either 15 or 14 bucks on the Nintendo Eshop.
Yo seriously, Severed is FUCKING FANTASTIC!!!! I swear to god, do not doubt it. The gameplay is fucking awesome and the way it gradually increases difficulty and teaches you new mechanics and continues to combine them all in combat as you progress is epic. Plus it's absolutely gorgeous
pixel games are trash. I just can't play stardew, the pixel graphics ruin it for me. After coming from Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons/Rune Factory, I just can't play a low budget indie ripoff. I don't get how people can just ignore the low budget graphics and all these flaws in indie games. I mean they're neat and all, but I prefer quality over quantity. I'll take 1 solid game over 10 mediocre indie games. I consider Stardew a mediocre games. I have never played a solid indie game; I don't think such a thing exists.
Planning on getting Stardew Valley, Shovel Knight and Golf Story to add to my Nintendo Switch game collection. I currently only have 3 games so these will be great fun to play once I finish them - and at a great price, too.
Okay guys, I just got my first job. It's part time. I just recently got a Switch, and I don't have enough money at the moment to be able to buy any big AAA games like Odyssey or Zelda right now. (I still have to be able to afford gas :/) So I'm going to have to buy a cheaper game. I'm trying to decide between Golf Story or Retro City Rampage. Which one gives me the best bang for my buck?
Some perhaps lesser-known and fairly cheap Switch EShop games I enjoy: Fe (weird alien 3d platformer), Earth Atlantis (submarine shmup), and now trying out Mulaka (3d adventure/platformer steeped in Native American mythology).
That fragments of midnight game isn’t great, but oddly, I kinda recommend it as a time-killer game, if you have no qualms with letting go of three bucks. I bought it to keep me occupied while updates, demos, and other games download, and for that purpose, it’s excellent. It’s something I can have a little fun with for a few minutes, and drop at a moments notice, without getting too invested. Sometimes you just... don’t have time for a masterpiece.
most of the 5 dollar switchgames have a free mobile counterpart that doesnt lack in quality.
i feel kinda dumb for buying one without knowing that i could play it for free.
when you see a 5 dollar game
open your app store first!
"Don't take meta score's as gospel." Never heard truer words my friend. Some of my favorite and surprise hits (not great GOTY stuff mind you) were games that scored lowly by pretty much everyone else standards but just dragged me in and kept me entertained for hours, days, and even months. I think to many gamers today get into the hype, or dis-hype (I know that's not a world) of review sites and gaming publications becoming hugely dissapointed when the next big game flops, yet missing some really good gems because some dude at Polygon game Mass Effect a horrible score due to his lack of not knowing you could level up in the game (though he did change it later after many gamers complained that his score was off because he didn't grasp a basic gaming concept).
An upcoming game for $15 is Hollow Knight (Not out on Switch yet, but soon! So tantalizingly close!). It's an indie metroidvania set in a world with sentient, cute, and disturbing bugs, and multiple forms of magic. A perfect title for the Switch! I played through the entirety of this game on the PC and let me tell you, it is beautiful. Both aesthetic and music are wonderfully crafted and masterful. The controls are simple but refined with satisfying combat and platforming. This game is not easy, but is (almost) always fair and the large world will have you searching for secrets in every nook and cranny. The tone and atmosphere is perfect and the story is told mostly through the environment. You can easily sink 40 hours on a casual playthrough and to 100% the game can take up to 60 hours! Tons of content for a great price and excellent replay value, to pick up the bits of lore you missed. Also, Free DLC! 2 of them have already released and the 3rd and final one is on its way shortly after the switch release. On top of that there is a paid DLC in the works that lets you play as a completely different character!
One game that came out more recently is Earth Wars. With a price of $4.50 it actually delivers some fun, satisfying, 2d hack-n-slash gameplay with a very in-depth customization system. The aesthetic is weird, but in a good way. It gives a sense of wrongness that really fits the setting. It's story is ok, but the world and scenario it creates is interesting and with an, honestly, shocking revelation at the end. Not extremely long, but it will keep you entertained for a couple weeks and has some decent replay value.
the way i see it you get what you pay for like 60 dollar games good games mostly legend of zelda, skyrim 60 dollars good games, pay 10 dollars you get 2d side scroller games which aren't bad though just not as expansive

The second one balances difficulty and RPG mechanics seamlessly to make the game always rewarding. " Free. Recommended March 6. "Fun and engaging game with a twist that comes out of left field. Not very long, but worth the time, definitely worth a second play through to unlock all its secrets.
