Of Kings and Men:
“Of Kings and Men is a medieval open-world sandbox MMO developed by Warlock Wireless (aka Donkeycrew) and published by Green Man Gaming. It was formerly known as Melee: Battlegrounds and is what the developers call the "spiritual" sequel to another one of their games, Mount and Blade Warband. Of Kings and Men features a giant persistent world where players form and shape the land. Forage and collect resources, conquer territory, and build outposts, villages, and cities. Engage in a variety of PvP options, from 1v1 duels to massive 200-player wars. Other modes include Team Deathmatch, Conquest, and Instant Battle. Join a faction and work together to defend territory, pool resources, and fight for a purpose.”
The Black Death:
“The Black Death is a massively multiplayer survival game that allows you to choose your own path in this dark, medieval land, complete with a diverse population of villagers, wildlife, and plague victims. Create your own story from a range of different play styles - become a blacksmith; defend the weak as a knight; or earn your living as a merchant. The wealthier, the richer, the stronger you become, the better your chance of survival.”
“Gloria Victis is a MMORPG with an emphasis on realism, set in a low-fantasy medieval open world. Enjoy skill-based non-target combat, open PVP with territory control, deep crafting system and player-driven economy – all that served with beautiful graphics and immersive atmosphere.”
“Mordhau is a multiplayer first person slasher, with deep character and equipment customization and a focus on fluid melee combat.”
Kingdom Come: Deliverance:
“Kingdom Come: Deliverance is set in an open world environment and will utilize a classless role-playing game system, allowing players to customize their skills to take on roles such as a warrior, bard, thief or something in between. Abilities and stats will grow depending on what the player does and says through branched dialogue trees. During conversations the time a player takes to make a decision is limited and will have an effect on their relationships with others. Reputation will be based on player choices and therefore can bring consequences.”
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord:
“The game is set 200 years before Mount & Blade: Warband. It takes place during the decline of the Calradian Empire and the formation of the Kingdoms that appear in the previous games. The Calradian Empire and its downfall are analogous to the Roman Empire's fall and the formation of the early Middle Eastern, North African, and European kingdoms. The armor, weapons and architecture will draw inspiration from 600 to 1100 A.D.”
“For Honor is an action hack and slash video game set during the medieval period. Players can play as a character from three different factions, namely The Legion, The Chosen, and The Warborn. The three factions represent knight, samurai, and Vikings, respectively. Each faction has four classes. The Vanguard class are described as "well-balanced" and has excellent offence and defence. The Assassins class are fast, are very efficient in dueling enemies, but they deal much less damage to enemies. The Heavies are more resistant to damages and suitable for holding capture points, though their attacks are slow. The last class, known as "Hybrids", are said to be a combination of the three types, and is capable of using uncommon skills. All heroes are unique, and have their own weapons, skills, and fighting styles.”

I can not stress enough how many assholes are in for honor and it's quite ironic for the title. I have to walk away when someone on my team trys to steal my kill because I refuse to double team. This one time, i had to take on the whole team and it wasn't even elimination time. I almost won, killing most of them but my point still stands. For honor makes sure that you will have a bad experience if you or your team mate has bad internet.
Breathe life into the Ashes of Creation.
Set on fallen world untouched by civilization for thousands of years, our players will:
Rebuild. Repopulate. Rediscover. Cities will rise and fall, their fates determined through
force of will and power. This is somthing you"ve newer experienced before-a completely
unique world that never stops changing.
all I cd think with the blackdeath game was open world and just wondering threw the lands and seeing other online players a group of them and fighting 1 v1 while the others watched and then excepting me lol
None of these games look like they are coming to consoles..they announce kingdom come deliverance that it would come to consoles but never did. And it's been out..the only ones truly coming to consoles is for honer & mount&blade 2 banner lord
O-K i might be 7 months late and not to seem like a keyboard warrior but if u didnt watch the M&B II: Bannerlord trailer it was trying to add more of a roleplay feel by adding smithing, confronting bandit gangs in the towns, making walking around the town actually useful as well if your trying to RP. But i can agree Warband wasnt a good rpg but a a good sandbox game with rpg elements
Why no "Life is Feudal"? Because it is an MMO? In my opinion it is the most ambitious of them all, though I must say "Of Kings and Men" looks interesting. The Black Death is obviously total crap. There isn't one thing working right and (almost) anyone can make a pretty map with Unreal Engine 4 and some decent models. It's the game that counts and Black Death isn't more than a tech demo at the moment. A badly made one that's not optimised at all.
So... of kings and men failed ... the black death and Gloria Victus have not shown anything special to that can grab u in tbh but we will see. Mordauh YES it looks like a much much better chivalry ! KCD is meh ... tbh it has good graphics and i guess "roleplaying" buuut the combat is shit .. if it had skyrim or chivalry combat it would have been better . The combat system right now is made like its only for 1v1 .. M&B looks fine maybe the graphics are a bit outdated but whatever and for honor seems fine too
Wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man I think Kingdom Come has a way better combat system than Skyrim. Skyrim is just attack or power attack. And of course KC's system looks kind of 1v1, at least I can't swing a sword in multiple directions simultaneously.
We're suddenly seeing a lot of cross mouse movement blocks and attacks medieval games. If you're wondering what brought this upon us, it's Mount & Blade: Warband and its successor is Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. Don't go thinking that Bannerlord is just another name on the list.
I don't think Bannerlord has anything to do with it as it isn't out yet, but Mount and Blade Warband is definitely an influence. Skyrim is also though- it is obviously a fantasy game not a medieval fiction one, but it sold well over 20 million copies, getting many more people interested in open world games with historical themes, particularly console gamers, who had not experienced this before. Thus, games like Kingdom Come seemed an obvious jump- taking what people love about role-playing games like that and adding a real historical setting.
NRGaming also For Honor has already lost 95% of its online players which to me shows that the game was overhyped and overrated as I predicted it would be. But if you enjoy the game that's fine and I respect that.
Idk I just can't get past it's terrible unrealistic graphic style, historical inaccuracies and to be honest the gameplay looks dull and generic in my opinion. I prefer more realistic games when it comes to medieval games like mount and blade, total war, ck2, etc...
+Nahuel Godoy because that would require a overhaul of how the world map portion functions which is why we're pondering other ways they could do it without having to gut out gameplay, hence the idea of the extra players being more of a tag along to the main
I like Mordhau physic engine, and of course Kingdom Come. In M&B Bannelord i saw some aspect that look similar to its predecessor, like the AI head shoting you; you can't see where your own arrows go; also some AI strange behavior.
Techoman MB is a more simple game, it's worlds away from an actual sandbox open-world medieval game. There is no world to explore, you just click on a point on the map, only then you see the graphics and get to play. Take a lot at a "lets play" and you'll get what i'm saying.
Below I will state the names of the games or if they are available in online or offline a.k.a if it is multiplayer or not, you can go into the description of the video to see full info on the games.
1. Name: Of kings and Man ( 0:00 )
Only online as I know, can't play offline, again as I know.
2. Name: Black Death ( 1:17 )
Again online only
3. Name: Gloria Victis ( 2:28 )
Online only again, Plus pay to win (I think else were does the money come for servers and upkeep?)
4. Name: Mordahu ( 3:46 )
Online only as far as I know
5. Name: Kingdom Come Deliverance ( 5:16 )
Offline only for now (Online might be added But I don't know)
6.Name Mount and Blade Bannerlord ( 6:26 )
Offline for now and don't think Online will be added
7. Name For Honor ( 8:48 )
Online only, with story mode that can be played offline (I think)
Ye Don't really like games that are online only, If I could I'd go with Mount and Blade as it's a true offline medieval game In my opinion.
The thing with online only games, is that once the money starts flowing in a.k.a bankrupt or the devs will stop supporting it, players won't be able to enjoy them ever again.
Unfortunately the video only showed a small part of the campaign (The smallest part of the game) and he was only fighting very low level grunts and bots. It's all about the complex, stance based PVP really. Plenty of characters with various mixups, move types and such. I'm not saying it's a perfect game by any means, but it's certainly not a hack and slash buttom mashing game.
Well im playing it on PC only cuz I dont like the mechanics of an controller. But I still hope it will come out on consoles as well, because that will maybe enlarge the community/players of Mount and Blade, what it definitely deserves.
+madNikolai As much as I'd like to agree with you, I'm sadly worried that that may not be the case. The sheer ability of the game and the functions look "PC only." I just transferred from PC to Xbox temporarily due to me not having a good PC anymore, and Warband has been great. Hopefully MaB2 will be released on consoles as well.
