3 New MMORPGs That Will Release In 2018
Listening to this summary about Crowfall immediately makes me think about an absolutely amazing game I used to play named Shadowbane. I'd really love to see that game make a comeback or perhaps Crowfall will serve as a replacement. "Fingers crossed".
The next big mmo will never come to existence unless it's released by Blizzard. All these Asian and Western wannabe WoW mmos will never amount to the success WoW accomplished. They will always be wannabe WoW mmos. The Korean developers might have big visions but their boss is always breathing down their neck for revenue so they always end up messing up the damn franchise.
I realize alot of people hate on WoW just for sport at this point, so this will likely fall on deaf ears. Having said all of that, this is my humble attempt to educate people on everything WoW has to offer.
You can join a RolePlaying server (either pve or pvp) and literally spend every minute of your game time role-playing. This is as extensive as in-game UI's prompting you to create an entire backstory for your character upon logging in on a new toon. RP'ing here involves everything from recreating epic moments in WoW/Lore history, to simple things like creating an entire community and commerce system within your RP guild. It's truly unique and should be tried at least once, if only for the experience.
Or just wander around the game world with your trusty pet, exploring new areas, checking out different Inns and towns, gathering food and fishing and crafting your own gear.
2. Casual Play/Solo Play/Farming
Join a mid-pop server and spend your time building up your professions, of which you can have a total of 5 (2 primary, 3 secondary). Mine ore nodes, gather herbs, skin beasts for leather, fish, find archaeological dig sites, craft all kinds of different gear to either sell to other players or for your own Transmog sets.
You can also solo all old raids and dungeons for unique and awesome mounts, pets, transmog gear and achievements and Titles.
Or spend your days doing the World Quests that interest you, playing the AH and becoming a WoW millionaire, or collecting Battle Pets to engage in epic pve-based Pet Battles or PvP-based pet battles. They're more fun and addicting than you think. :D
Super into PvP? Awesome. Join a high-pop pvp server with a fairly even ratio of Horde and Alliance! Spend your time out in the world engaging in World PvP, or get your friends or guildies together to go raid the opposite faction Capital City.
Into unranked, casual PvP? Join a 2v2 or 3v3 Skirmish Arena. The system offers an automated queue for you and will throw you into to a random arena map with random other players.
Into pvp on a larger scale? Even better. Join the queue for a Random Battleground, or select a specific Battleground you really enjoy. Every Battleground is different, and has different objectives in order to win. There are even achievements you can get for getting Max Reputation with various different Battleground factions.
If you're into competitive ranked play for PvP, WoW has you covered there too! Get your friends or guildies together and join a 10man Ranked Battleground which awards ranking points and epic pvp gear.
You can also choose to grab just 1 or 2 friends and queue up for ranked arena. Climb the ladder to try for epic achievements like Gladiator or Rank 1 and get awesome pvp-only mounts! If you're really good, your team can even participate in the numerous tournaments and maybe even get to Blizzcon to compete on stage against the best teams for ever-increasing prize pools!
All about the end-game PvE? Wow definitely takes the cake here!
Everything from World Quests to weekly World Bosses to Dungeons with ever-scaling difficulty and of course epic raids!
Queue for your daily Random Heroic Dungeon, knock out your World quests for your Emissaries, and join a large group of players to down the multiple World Bosses every week. Run the auto-queue LFR (easy mode) Raid to get a taste of 25-man raiding and see what the raids look like.
As you get better, increase your dungeon difficulty by getting 4 other players together and doing Mythic+ dungeons! These get exponentially harder, with added mechanics, the higher you go! These are even becoming an E-Sport in WoW, with tournaments and cash prizes!
If larger-scale PvE is what you're after, join a raiding guild and hop on Discord with your group to tackle the current raid tier in ever-increasing difficulties. Start in Normal mode and progress as a guild. Once you've defeated the last boss, see if you can push through the progression on Heroic difficulty. Mythic Raids are the hardest difficulty and there is a significant step up from Heroic. If you're looking for incredibly challenging, but incredibly rewarding content, Mythic Raiding is your jam!
So many people play WoW for 1 xpac and only ever see one side of the game, or one small slice it offers and then complain that it has nothing to offer. The truth is that no matter what you're looking for in a game, what kind of content you enjoy, or how much time you have, WoW pretty much offers something for everyone.
Every game is of course subjected to each players' own personal opinions and tastes and I understand not everyone will like WoW. The graphics will be too "cartoon-y", or the tab-targeting combat system will feel too "slow/lame/etc". Every game isn't for everyone.
I'm just trying to show that WoW has more to offer than you might expect!
Enjoy your gaming journey! <3
Epic large scale battles don't work. Warhammer Online had to cap it's keep sieges and even then it was an unplayable lag fest. WoW tried with Wintergrasp and eventually had to cap the player count which made it better but not by much. Even with a high end rig and lighting fast internet speed.
Air wont turn out good due to Blue Balls entertainment, they can't even make PUBG run smooth. Not to mention humans as the only race???.... lol.
Crowfall is hopeful for those crafting and pvp lovers. Have been playing Crowfall on and off through the testing phase. Needs optimization but the core of the game is solid so far. Crafting is in depth and actually worth focusing on. PvP has been hard to gauge due to the optimization issues. Games like this are a must to have 100+fps to really enjoy the game.
Bless might turn out good, the JP revised combat helped a lot along with optimization changes. Now they are tweaking it even more and making combat more interactive so they have learned from their mistakes it seems. Graphics can be a bit dull but id rather have 100+fps than pretty graphics. 40-60fps is atrocious to play on. Will be trying Bless in May when it launches NA/EU and play that until Crowfall goes into EA and is much more polished.
This is the moment in time where mmo's are slowing down, dying sadly to say but it is moments like this when the ashes are falling a valiant hero rises and saves all of the land. Or so i hope because what else am i supposed to do with my life. Lmao
. Id love to have a game, that has a whole unique aesthetic to it. Nowadays mmorpgs are 1-in eastern style 2-medieval, western styled. I want one which would be a totally different culture. Also it wouldnt be all about fighting/grinding/questing. It would break the classic pve pvp standards by allowing the player to focus on the daily life activities more (housing systems, owning a shop, gardens, farms etc) For example bdo does have all this stuff, but they're just secondary activities. I'd totally rip off levels. Quests wouldn't matter, but they still would be exciting and interesting for those who enjoy pve. Idk Im just tired of all mmorpgs being the same
Box price plus optional subscription, but I guess it'll end up like EVE back in the day - with hardcore players paying sub and having multiple accounts, and the rest trying it for fun or for couple months or around Xpacks.
Nice vid., but what do you mean with " Revelation online died " ? I´m playing it every day and think it´s one of the best mmorpg´s out there right now. It´s very nice looking, has a good combat, a interesting story and a lot of personalysation. Just sometimes it´s getting a bit weird with all that stuff one has to take care about...or maybe it´s just me, that i´m too lazy..XD
But for me it´s a very cool game and i hope it will be alive for a lot more time.
