Why don’t RPGs just allow you to create your own character or choose a starting point. At least give me more options. Maybe I want to start as the son of a nobleman, or live as a traveling merchant or something. Something as simple as this can drastically improve your role playing experience.
FIX. THE. LOCKPICKING. im holding out until they fix that crap on consoles. It makes the game unplayable. I also hope the game picks up more than the intro lets on. I dont want a game filled with fetch quests. Im not some WoW player that wants to grind all day on dumb ass tasks.
1. Don't waste your money on this game.
2. It is riddled with bugs.
3. The developer would rather waste your time having to replay hours of the game than let you save when you want.
4. The facial animations are horrible and look like last gen console graphics.
5. The voice acting is terrible and amateurish.
6. The combat is stiff and clumsy.
7. Lock picking is unnecessarily difficult to properly do.
8. The UI is outdated and looks like it was imported from a game made ten years ago.
9. Horse riding is ridiculously implemented and you will get hung up on bushes and blades of grass...
Just brought it, very rough around the edges but great none the less. Give it time for patches and mods and it'll be brilliant. Hope the game establishes a strong modding community, as good mods will make this game exceptional. Skyrim is still alive due to its mods, so hopefully this lasts just as long!
I’m a bit gutted it’s set in Czechland.
As an Englishman it would have been more entertaining if it covered the first barons war starting from the loss at Bouvines to the victory at Lincoln with the ultimate reward being the signing of the Magna Carta.
The only thing I don't like about this game is the lockpicking, weird glitches that fail certain objectives, and the absolutely weird animations. The animations are not good enough. Other than that what an amazing job.
So... The 12 things you should know are all how awesome it is? If someone is buying it don't they already think that?
I like that some of them are "they didn't tell is the answer, but we hope it'll be awesome too", though. Yep, definitely needed to know that complete absence of information.
Clickbait needs to die already. This isn't things you need to know before buying, it's a commercial.
People really need to stop bitching about this came, it was created with less than 5 million dollars, in comparison Skyrim (my favourite game) was made with aound 85 million dollars.
For the money they had, they created something incredible, and it was fund raised/privately invested.
Have a save potion in your inventory at all times. Don't be afraid to use it. The game will set you back *hours* if you're not careful, even with very basic quests you can fudge things up. Also if you have a PC. Make sure it doesn't suck, this game is very demanding.
I urge no one to buy this game until its had a few updates. The loading time is stupid, Even talking to someone like an inn keeper takes a few moments of loading. Looting washing your clothes doing anything requires loading. Ive seen multiple NPC's with no limbs or a head or both. Ive had quests i can not complete due to the NPC not being at the location. I have got on my horse and all of a sudden it spawned on top of my head and i could walk around with the horse on my head. Its so broken and i like what they have done with this game its very immersive especially on the budget they had. Unfortunately it feels like they was getting close to a deadline and rushed it out. They Definitely should have done more tests and patches before making it public.
Lots here brings me back to Morrowind. The armor slots being so numerous and layered, the less guided quest structure. I hope it proves to Bethesda and other studios that more complex rpg mechanics are still viable
I've been playing this game for 3 hours now and have spent 2 out of the 3 doing the same thing over and over because dying is like 2 hits away. I don't understand how anyone is going to play this game at this rate.
Don't buy this game yet. Wait. Wait for patches. Wait for a sale. Just wait. Literally just finished first two hours of game time, and no only are the glitches numerous, but probably 80 percent of it so far has been cut scenes, many that are nothing but useless banter. Boring. Just........Boring.
I understand i need to give it more time because its massive, but this is not how u keep people playing your game.
I kind of feel that I'm obligated to buy this, I did btw, because if you don't support these kind of indie projects single player RPGs are going to become extinct and everything will become the massive shitty multiplayer pay to win games of the EA world.
Xhalom How am I wrong? It's no secret the industry is gravitating towards in game purchases to prop up games and development costs. Why would a company sink millions into a game that doesn't sell well and they have no ability to extend revenue via in game purchases if the initial sales don't meet production costs and profit estimates? If you don't support single player games like this they will go the way of the dodo, especially for small development companies that don't have the financial strength of an EA.
i played a little bit of it a while ago and so far the only things i dont like is the combat system its like for honor but slower which means you get hit more and the lips sometimes dont keep up with the dialogue i had a small conversation and the mouth wasnt even moving
I've been waiting for a historically accurate rpg. Map size of 16 sq km seems a little too small for a game focused around a kingdom. I ain't complaining though it looks great and I hope the studio makes enough money to hire more devs to keep adding on to this game.
I'm super hyped, but I'm sticking to my principles: I won't pre-order. And based off some of the gameplay I've seen, I'm going to wait for a patch or two to come out so that I can enjoy the best version of the game possible. Definitely going to play it at some point though.
What's with all the in-game chatter? I hope it is followers that I can choose to not take, that was annoying. Modern terms like "armored like a tank" and "boss fight" really land in the ol' immersion-breaking.
