Bahahahahahahaha! Oh geez. I'll be honest, I did not see that #1 coming. I probably should have though. lol
I have a couple Ouya's that we just use as media players. Its a shame it didn't go the way the developers wanted it to go.
Hiveswaps reasons were ENTIRELY out of Hussie's hands, and he actually paid FROM HIS OWN POCKET the money that was STOLEN FROM THE PROJECT by the developers he had CONTRACTED to code the game. THAT is why the engine had to be abandoned. And that is the story of why the Kings Quest remake looked so good; money stolen from another project The Odd Gentlemen were supposed to be working on.
Hiveswap is out in 6 days. Hellyea
Note: They had to redevelop because their first developer ganked a lot of the money and then ditched them, forcing them to make their own studio from the ground up.
have u played shovel knight, it is a great game and it was founded with this method, I hope great games keep coming and not like this fails because it would make fans stop paying for this games, great great video!!
Lol I was working to port my game to OUYA. But they closed the store too early. OUYA's only problem is that it didn't have a dedicated easy to use game engine and it's developers were mostly amateurs learning. So funds ran out and they sold to Razer. I still play games on my OUYA. And the store is still up. So I wouldn't call it a Kickstarter fail. More like a business fail.
They DID know what they were doing. It's just that what they qere doing was STEALING FROM THE PROJECT to fund ANOTHER. That's why the new King's Quest looked so good - stolen money increasing the budget.
well, the release date is still about three months off. No one can say what hilarious pitfalls they might encounter... like for example a fan, that most certainly is not me, breaking into their offices and stealing the hard drives. All of the Hard Drives, all of them.
This is why you buy finished games instead of wasting money on kick starters where you group fund something you get absolutely no ownership in. Kickstarter has some great success but it's much better to spend a few extra bucks on a final product then to gamble your money on a non existent product
I'm pretty sure the Homestuck game is still in development. Last I heard, someone had taken off with some of his money and he was hunting them down legally. Also Toby Fox was working on it and his time got taken over by Undertale.
This is going to sound fucked up but it's how I honestly feel... FUCK THOSE CUNTS THAT FUCKED OVER THAT POOR GUY! Seriously you spent all your friends money on booze and strippers? I honestly hope they're dead, and they're families are dead. Basically they need to die like now. Sorry if I'm to hardcore but those guys are scumbags.
The thing with Inafune specifically, it's that he has always been a busisnessman, not a game developer... And that statement is coming from a dev who knows Inafune very well, Hideki Kamiya (Resident Evil, Devil May Cry creator).
