I love how many pieces of soundtrack in The Witcher 3 are peaceful but also a little bit gloomy. The theme of Oxenfurt is a perfect example: the music of a seemingly peaceful city, but listening more closely, you can hear the distant echo of war... and feel the smell of smoke coming from the pyres of Novigrad.

So is this what Geralt was trying to sing when hunting the drunken Ekimara?

This version uses the vocals to the track called 'Bonnie at Morn' Which I Personally find even more beautiful and emotion evoking. I wish they would have used this version - https://soundcloud.com/mikolai-stroinski/bonnie-at-morn Mikolai Stroinski composed 21 tracks between the TW3 main game and Blood & Wine. The rest of the TW3 OST was created by primary composer Marcin Przybyłowicz with the help of the talented band Percival on a few tracks. There's also Piotr Musiał who composed 7 tracks for Blood & Wine (E.G. 'For Honor! For Toussaint!' and one of my favorite B&W tracks, 'The Banks of the Sansretour'). Piotr Musiał is best known for the beautiful yet melancholic OST for the indie game 'This War of Mine' which you can check out here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ODdW4hcOow

Geralt standing outside the city walls, near the river, where a thin mist slowly fades away... his thoughts are like a wandering wolf. Decades of memories come and go, uninvinted, unforgettable; years of solitude, days that pass without a word, and then the sad smile of Essi, as the sun tries to rise from cold waters. The white wolf travels further, following a familiar scent... berries tart, lilac sweet. To dream of raven locks entwisted, stormy... But it's just Plotka, who approaches with the royal griffin throphy, a bleeding monster head, collapsed in a mute scream. The scent changes into something acrid and bitter, something to be exchanged by gold, and nothing more. Some guards finally open the gate, allowing the morning - and the outcasts - enter the town. Another day in the witcher's path.

Too bad Oxenfurt is almost non-existant story- & sidequest-wise apart from 2 or 3 missions there :/

With the addition of Hearts of Stone at least they added some more quests and opened up more of the town for exploration, still, I wish we could have explored the college. For book readers of the Witcher Saga especially, we've read about a lot of the places finally revealed in Witcher 3, Novigrad, Oxenfurt, Skellige etc. I think CDPR did an admirable job with most of the source material, not perfect yet more than sufficient.

+Justforvisit because of Radovid closing down the university and burning all the books, it makes the music sound very mournful.

+Peter Tel Yup I know, still, on the one hand, such a wasted opportunity, on the other hand: Amazing how much detail went into something you hardly ever see
